Torn By Keri Neal

Torn by Keri Neal is a fast passed great combination of mystery & romance. This is one of the those stories that gets you hooked and keeps you turning the pages. There is so much going on and so many twist and turns it really keeps your attention.

Shane Baxter is a handsome agent that is on a mission when he meets the love of his life, Dixie. Their love is not suppose to be happening and could interfere with his mission. He will do anything in his power to keep Dixie safe, even if that means walking out of her life.

Dixie Peterson is a strong independent woman that finds herself in the middle of mess she didn't know was happening. Shane comes to her rescue to save her and then walks out of her life.

When these two both meet up later in a Mexican hotel things start to turn wild again. Can Dixie get past the lies Shane told her and trust him to keep her safe once again.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good mystery with some romance thrown in. I found myself really into this story and I think you will too.

Anything for You By Jessica Scott

Anything for You is the first book I have read by Jessica Scott. If this book is any indication I have been missing out on some great reading. This short story was wonderful.

I found it very moving  watching a very strong man that has been through so much find something that terrifies him. Shane is petrified of losing Jen. How could you not just adore a man that is so in love he would do anything to protect his true love?

Jen is a strong willed lady that has battled cancer once and kicked it's butt. However she lives with the fear that it will return. Jen just wants to live her life and not always be thinking of herself as a Cancer patient. She's doing a great job. She has a fear of her own. Shane is going to get well and perhaps join his team again.

Anything for you is a very moving, touching, sweet story that will keep you turning the pages.

I truly enjoyed reading about Shane and Jen. Now I want to go find the rest of Jessica's books and read them. Jessica has a way of telling a story that really pulls you in and makes you feel what she's writing.

I would highly recommend this book if you are a fan of Jessica Scott's work, if you love a sweet romance story, or a really touching quick read. I think you will enjoy it, I know I did.

Trail's End by Denise Moncrief

Wow, where do I begin with this one? I really enjoyed Trail's End by Denise Moncrief. This book is 46 pages of entertainment. It is a short story with lots of twists and turns. I love a good mystery with romance and this was a good one.

Scarlett has a secret from her past that she doesn't want to reveal. This woman has a large amount of inner strength. Her past has left her with some trust issues.  Now she is trying to start over and she isn't sure who she should trust at all.

Cade Henderson is a handsome cowboy that Scarlett is falling for. He also has some secrets from his past that he isn't ready to share either.

The romance between Cade & Scarlett is a sweet, slow romance. You can tell they are attracted to each other from the moment they meet but with their past they take their time falling in love. These two have a few things to over come in order to make their happily ever after though.

I wasn't sure how much mystery there could be in a short story but let me tell you this one surprised me. I found myself rolling through the pages really quick and enthralled in this story.

I would recommend this if you are looking for a quick short story to read. If you like  mystery, romance, and short stories I think you'll love this one.

Bullets and Buckets By Janelle Lee

I enjoyed the Bullets & Boots series that I had read so I was really excited to read Bullets and Buckets By
Michelle Hanlan is a Big City girl who is spending spending a year on her Grandfather's ranch. This girl just wants to get through the year and get back to the big city. However her Hero Cowboy saves her from a snake and changes things.

Rick is a cowboy through and though. Right down to riding bulls in the Rodeo. Michelle is shocked at his bull riding skills when she attends the Rodeo.

Sparks fly between Michelle and her cowboy Rick instantly. There is attraction but oh boy do these two know how to push each other buttons. Michelle finds herself not so miserable in her new life on the ranch. It's cute watching a city girl settling into country life.

This is one of those really cute romances to watch play out. Janelle Lee had a way of making this relationship grow and mature in 24 pages and it was a sweet read all the way through.

I liked Janelle's flow of writing and I love a good story with a handsome cowboy in it. I look forward to reading more stories from the Bullets & Boots series.

All He Ever Desired by Shannon Stacey

I really enjoyed All He Ever Desired by Shannon Stacey. This book combines some of my favorite reading themes romance, small town setting, and close family ties.

Ryan Kowalski is one of those hot, dependable, hard working Kowalski brothers that you just fall in love with. He is in town to help his brother work on the family lodge. He has dreaded this trip back home. He has history there he would rather forget.

Lauren Carpenter is a strong, independent, single mother with a plate full. She also has an attraction to Ryan that she would rather forget about. After all he is only back in town for a while. When her teenage son finds himself in trouble, Ryan offers a solution. This solution puts Lauren and Ryan in contact a lot more then is comfortable for either of them.

Lauren & Ryan try really hard to fight their attraction to each other. It doesn't work though, their attraction is just too strong and they finally give in. However they have a lot things to over come if they are going to make this relationship work.

I really enjoyed my visit the Kowalski family again. There is romance, laughter, and a little drama to keep the pages turning. I can't wait for the next book in the series and I'll be anxiously awaiting it's release.

If you enjoy the small town settings with close family ties books as much as I do I high recommend this book.

A Man for Annalee By Vonnie Davis

I loved western romances and A Man for Annalee sounded like a great read from the beginning. There is romance, drama, and laughter all the way through this book. You can't go wrong when you combine some of my very favorite things in a book.

Annalee is a strong willed, feisty, independent woman who is fully capable of taking care of herself. I loved how Annalee handled so many situations in this book. This is a woman that you would want on your side if you were in trouble. She can kick butt and tell a person off in no time flat.

Annalee has a lot to deal with, she lost her parents, her home, and her business in Chicago fire. When she arrives in  Cicero Creek she learns that her Grandfather has been killed. This girl has lost so much that she really needs something great to happen in her life. She starts to make friends and she meets the marshal.

Boone Hartwell is the handsome marshal that Annalee keeps tangling with. This handsome fellow finds himself on the receiving end of Annalee's lashings a few times. The more these two tangle the more they find themselves falling for each other. Watching these two falling in love is so wonderful. Boone has issues from his past too. He lost his family at a young age so these two have a lot in common.

Boone is afraid who ever killed Annalee's grandfather is after her when strange accidents start happening. He is determined he is going to protect her.

Annalee's lashing are so good and fun to read. Vonnie Davis has done a great job of writing a touching, drama, laughter filled book. I know I will be looking for more of her work to read.

This is part of the Bullets & Boots Series. If the rest are as good as this one I can't wait to read more!

Undressed

I really really enjoyed Undressed by Avery Aster. Not only is there a great story line but it's HOT, HOT, HOT!

Lex Easton is a strong, independent designer, daughter of a rock star, and fearless leader of her design company. Lex is one busy lady who does not need another problem added to her list. That is just what she gets when her supply order does not arrive from Girasoli Garment Company. So she takes matters into her own hands. She arrives on the Mediterranean island where Prince Massimo Tittoni is on holiday.

Prince Massimo Tittoni is the owner of Girasoli Garment Company with a past that has lead to some trust issues. When he meets Lex he is totally taken with her and very physically attracted. The sparks fly instantly with these two but it takes them awhile to get past the fun they have bickering with each other.

I loved this book. I enjoyed reading the plot of the fashion industry and the fashion show coming together. The romance between Lex & Prince Massimo is fabulous. They are such a dynamic couple that you really cheer them on. They have a chemistry and attitude that clash but yet blend together so well.

Not only do we get to see the relationship between Lex & her Prince we see the relationship with Lex and her circle of friends. The group is wonderful and would do anything for each other.

This is a debut novel by Avery Aster and she did a great job. She kept my interest all the way through and had a very nice flow. I look forward to see what she has in store for us next.

I agree with the warning in the description this is a hot book with vivid description and language. So if that is not your style you won't enjoy this book. Other wise if you are looking for a HOT, interesting read I think you'll enjoy this book.

When Snow Falls by Brenda Novak

I am a HUGE fan of series books and tend to love them all. This series is no exception. I love the Whiskey Creek series and this one lived up to my expectation. I really enjoyed visiting Whiskey Creek and enjoyed reading Cheyenne & Dylan's Story.

Cheyenne is a sweet innocent girl that has had a rough life traveling all over with her not so nice mother and sister. Chey remembers something that just doesn't sit well with her but her Mom always brushes off the questions and doesn't really give her any answers. Chey has taken on the care of her very Ill mother and also tries to lead her sister down a different path way to a better life. She has her hands full.

She meets up with the town bad boy Dylan who turns out not to be such a bad boy. He's a guy that has taken on a lot of responsibility himself. He has taken on the responsibility of his brother since his Mom died and his Dad went to prison. He has his hands full just like Chey.

When these two finally meet and get to know each other it doesn't take long for sparks to fly. Even though Chey has been in love with the same guy forever, who never really has noticed her, she starts to fall for the bad boy (who's not so bad).

There is a lot of emotion and drama in this book. It sure does keep you turning pages. I can't wait for the next in the Whiskey Creek series.

Marriage of Inconvenience by Cheryl Bolen

Marriage of Inconvenience is the first Historical Love Inspired book I have read. It's also the first book I have read by Cheryl Bolen. I'm usually not a fan of this time period but I have to say this book had my attention from the first chapter.

Miss Rebecca Peabody has been living with her her sister and her husband. She is so ready for some independence and feels that marring will accomplish this for her. So she takes matters into her own hands and proposes marriage to Earl of Aynsley. At first the Ansley isn't sure that he wants to marry again. Shortly after he meets with Rebecca he finds out that he has lost more staff due to his children's behavior. He really could use a wife to run his estate. These two strongly opinionated people marry to gain what they both are in need of or what they think they are in need of.

Rebecca & Ansley get to know each other more after they arrive at the Ansley estate. Rebecca also takes to his children instantly. There is some drama with the daughter.

I really enjoyed watching this family form and adjust to each other not only as husband & wife but also with the children.

As I said this the first I have read by Cheryl Bolen but I know I would pick up another one of her books again.

Back to You by Robin Kaye

I received this Back to You in the mail and read a few pages while I was waiting for my mom to do a few things around town. I was hooked by page one! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book and can not wait to read more by Robin Kaye.

Breanna Collins is a busy girl taking care of her boss that is more like a father to her, her bar/dinner, and a little girl. She has her hands full so she ask for help from her boss' sons. Little does she know the son she is going to get help from is Storm Decker. Oh boy there reunion was full of drama from the moment they seen each other.

Storm has come home to help take care of his father. Little does he know that Breanna (the girl he left behind) is staying in his father's apartment. Storms goes through a lot of changes in his thought processes in this story.

I loved ready about Storm & Breanna I can't wait for the next in the series. I know I will be on the look out for more books by Robin Kaye.

The Heidelberg Effect

I enjoyed reading The Heidelberg Effect by Susan Kiernan-Lewis. This is the first book I have had the pleasure to read by Susan Kiernan-Lewis.

Ella Stevens is trying to find her place in life. Just when she thinks she has made a great decision to move to Germany she meets the man of her dreams Rowan. They try to keep their long distance relationship together and when they think it is falling apart Ella finds her self transported back to 1620. This book is full of twist and turns and drama. When I thought it might be hard to keep up with the major change in time the author did a great job of keeping things flowing and never losing me.

I have to admit I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book and thought I would have a hard to time reading it even though it sounded really good. However I was pleasantly surprise to find myself flying through this book and really enjoying it.

I would love to read more by Susan Kiernan-Lewis. She did a great job keeping my interest.

An Affair to Dismember

An Affair to Dismember by Elise Sax is one of those books where you find youself laughing out loud as you read it. I had a really good time reading this book It is one of those books that keeps you flipping to see what is going to happen next.

Gladie Burger is a young lady that just hasn't found her niche in life yet. She does a lot of job hopping, until now. Her grandmother wants to groom her to take over her matchmaking business. Gladie isn't all that sure she is good at match making, after all she hasn't found her own match yet. While in training and trying to find the perfect couple to be her first match, Gladie gets mixed up with the kooky family next door. The man next door is dead, was it an accident or murder? Gladie finds herself in the mix of trying to solve what could be a murder, when bodies stop showing up other places. Not only is she in over her head trying to solve what she thinks might be a murder she meets the HOT new Police Chief, Spencer Bolton . Sparks fly with these two, their attracted to each other but can't help but bicker. She also meets the HOT new neighbor Arthur Holden. Wow in the course of the week Gladie gets herself into a lot of sticky situations where these two hunks take turns coming to her rescue.

I loved watching Gladie get herself into one mess after another in try to get herself out. It's going to be fun to read the next book in the series to see which handsome hunk Gladie spends time with. With these two hunks it's going to be a tough choice. The police Chief Spencer is a man that finds his way around town with the women and has already gotten a reputation of it. Arthur Holden is a complete mystery to all but their is a serious number of rumors floating around as to what he might do for a living.

If you like a good mystery with a small amount of romantic encounters thrown in I think you'll enjoy this book. I know I myself can't wait to read the next book in the series to see what kind of trouble Gladie can find herself in next.

The Merger Mogul

The title of this book was enough to catch my attention. It sounded really good and it lived up to it.

Daniel Tennant, aka The Merger Mogul is all about business and his playboy status. This guy lived up to both titles. He was all about making the deal go through and bye bye see you later once the deal was closed with both his business & personal life. That is until he get some bad health news. While he is recovering he goes through some life changing events. This guy turns out to be a guy any girl would be proud to introduce to her parents.

Daniel meets Kathryn Taylor, aka KT while he is recovering from health issues. Oh Boy do sparks start to fly right away. KT is a good girl though and believes in saving herself for marriage. Talk about opposites attracting!

Watching these two get to know each other and watching Daniel go through some life changing moments makes for a really good book.

I Really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more by Donna Every.

The Price of Victory

I found The Price of Victory to be a very enjoyable read. This was my first book by Sandra Leesmith but I will sure be on the look out for more from her. She a a nice flow to the story that keeps you turning pages.

Debra is trying to achieve something major in her life to make her father proud of her. She learns though out the book that Winning is not only physically winning, but emotional winning by getting a feeling of piece with in her self. This was a nice book about Romance with Sterling Wade stepping in to help Debra over a major ordeal. Sterling & Debra grow closer together slowly becoming more then just friends.

This is a really sweet story about love and accomplishment with in your self and with your family. It was a feel good read.

I would recommend this book to someone looking for a book with drama but a good out come.

Merry Ex-Mas by Sheila Roberts

Merry Ex-Mas is the second book I have read in the Icicle Falls series and I enjoyed running into some old friends from the last book. I love small town series so this quickly became another series for me to follow.

I enjoy this book. It was full of lots of family drama but Sheila Roberts kept it running at a nice page to keep me flipping pages.

Cass Wilkes is a very busy women with a bakery to run & children to raise. Her oldest daughter is getting married and wishes for her father to walk her down the aisle. This presents a lot of funny accidents that aren't all the funny to Cass but I found myself laughing though some of this.

Charlene Albach's ex-husband arrives back in town. He wants Charley back. Well he has some major proving to do to show Charley he has changed. Has this man changed enough to be lucky enough for Charley to work on their relationship again?

Ella O'Brien & her ex-husband Jake are sharing their home until it sells even though they are divorced. This one is interesting to watch. Did these two make the right decision by divorcing. These two really are a cute sweet couple that makes you cheer for them.

I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to the next book in the series and a chance to visit with some all friends again.

I would recommend this book if you like small town stories. I think you would enjoy it.

When Summer Comes

I was excited to read When Summer Comes by Brenda Novak. I love these small town series books and I just can't seem to read enough. I had read the previous books and was really looking forward to this one. It lived up to my expectation.

I bonded quickly with both characters Callie & Levi. Callie is such a strong willed woman with quite a battle to fight with her failing liver. She doesn't want her friends and family to suffer with her illness and keeps it quite for a while.

Levi is a very unexpected presents in Callie's life and the attraction between these two is amazing from the start.

Levi is a gentleman with a past, part of which he would rather keep to himself. He's had a rough few years and is just trying to cope with life.

Callie & Levi make such a wonderful couple because they are both in need of support neither is willing to ask for it. However, in each of their own ways they help the other heal along the way.

I really enjoyed this visit to Whiskey Creek and anxiously await the next in the series to visit again.

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys small town series or is a fan of Brenda Novak. I think you'll enjoy it.

Rescuing Christmas

How can you possibly go wrong with a book that contains romance, Christmas, and sweet animals? In my "book" you can't, so I was really excited to read Rescuing Christmas.

Holiday Haven by Vicki Lewis Thompson is the first story in this book. Tansy Dexter is a very caring, animal loving lady with a job she loves working at an animal shelter. Ben Rhodes is a cameraman for a TV studio. When Tansy & Ben meet at the studio & again at the shelter sparks fly. Ben has some issues with not wanting to get attached to a pet again. So he's exactly not the type of person Tansy thinks she should be attracted too. Can Tansy love help Ben find the spot in his heart reserved for a pet again? This Story features a special cat.

Home for Christmas by Catherine Mann is the second story. Shelby Conrad thinks her marriage with Alex Conrad is over and heading for divorce. Alex is willing to do anything to make Shelby happy even if it is divorce. What Shelby & Alex need is some communication in their relationship. These two are so sure their relationship is over but neither wants it to be. Maybe a road trip to delivery three puppies is just what they need. Not only are we treated to a sweet story of Shelby & Alex in this book we get to see three happy endings for the puppies they deliver. This story has a link to the same animal shelter as Holiday Haven.

A Puppy for Will by Kathie DeNosky is the last story in the book. This one also has a link to the same animal shelter. Will agrees to foster a horse of a dog for the Christmas holiday. Will's foster puppy introduces helps Will meet his neighbor Macie Fairbanks. Will has trust issues that evolved from his lying, cheating ex-wife. Macie has a secret that she isn't ready to tell. These two have a few things to work out if they are going to be able to make their happily ever after happen. This story has some really cute puppy moments and a few comedy moments due to Marcie's attempt at cooking.

I really enjoyed all three of these story and would recommend them to all my fellow romance readers out there that love pets and Christmas.

Return to Willow Lake

I was so excited to read Sonnet's story in Return to Willow Lake. I have read all the other books in this series by Susan Wiggs and enjoyed them. I enjoyed this one as well. There was not as much romance in this one as one might expect but it is still a really great read.

This books starts at the night of Daisy's wedding. Sonnet & her best friend Zack find they have an attraction that they didn't know was there.
Sonnet is determined to forget it ever happened.

Sonnet thinks she has her life all worked out, she has the perfect job, the perfect boyfriend, and is heading on to the perfect life. Then everything turns crazy. She receives a phone call from her mom, Nina. She has some exciting news she's pregnant. Sonnet rushes home to celebrate her mom's good news. When she arrives home she finds out there is more, her Mom also has a terrible illness that she is going to have to fight while she is pregnant.

Sonnet then knows she has to do the right thing. She's coming home to help her Mom deal with everything. She takes a job that by chance puts her in direct contact with Zach all everyday. Zach who has been her best friend all these years and also Zach the man whom she spent an amazing night that she is trying to forget.

I loved watching Sonnet help her Mom deal. They have such a wonder, amazing relationship. This book shows you a deep family relationship between a mother & daughter with a bond so deep they would do anything for each other. It also shows you how a small town can pull together in a difficult situation. Which is one of the things that I love about small town series books.

Sonnet is torn between helping her mother and pleasing her father that has been absent most of her life. She has a lot of choices to make about her life & what her heart wants not what her mind thinks she wants.

Zach is the hometown boy that has always been a part of Sonnets life, however their feeling for each other are changing and Sonnet doesn't know what to do about it.

This book is not only about about the romance of Sonnet & Zach but the deep family foots of a small town girl.

I really enjoyed reading Sonnet & Zach's story. Fair warning there is a lot of emotion in this book and you very well may need some kleenex.

Caller of Light By TJ Shaw

Caller of Light by TJ Shaw is a wonderful book. I truly enjoyed reading about Carina McKay & her dashing King Marek Duncan.

Carina is treated horribly by her father & half sister. So without receiving the love she needs from her family she spends her time & showers her love of the Critons, her favorite is little Mira. When King Duncan comes to court her sister, he meets Carina and develops a fondness for her. Before he leaves he has choose Carina over her sister. Of course this terribly angers her sister, she is the favored sister and always gets what she wishes.

Carina & Marek bond on their travels back to Mareks land. There is a sweet connection between these two right away. In their travels they encounter a battle and many other issues they have to over come together. Carina & Marek make a powerful couple that keeps you cheering for them along the way.

I would recommend this book to the fantasy romance readers out there. I know your going to enjoy it. I myself can not wait to see what TJ Shaw might have in store for us next. I would love to read more by her!

Love in a Carry-on Bag

Love in a Carry-on Bag by Sadeqa Johnson is a fabulous debut novel.

Erica Shaw is an up & coming star at a publishing company. She has a lot of issues from her childhood that she is dealing with as well as a needy mother that is always in trouble some form and asking for money. She is a tough girl that is holding it all together & trying to keep her life on track.

Warren Prince is a business man by day and a musician by night. He also has a lot going on that he is dealing with. Like the very sudden wedding of his father.

Erica & Warren have been in a long distance relationship for a while. Things are going great until work starts to interfere with their personal life. Erica is unable to be with Warren when he needs her the most. There is a woman in Warren's office that is out to steal him away from Erica.

I really enjoyed Love in a Carry-on Bag and look forward to reading more by Sadeqa Johnson. She did a fabulous job on her debut novel!

Angels at the Table By Debbie Macomber

I absolutely adored this book! Of course how can you possibly go wrong with a Debbie Macomber Christmas story. If you are a Debbie Macomber fan which I am one of the great parts of the Christmas season is a Christmas book from Debbie.

Shirley, Goodness, Mercy, and their new apprentice angel, Will make an quick unplanned visit to Earth on New Year's Eve. Will takes it upon himself to give two strangers (Lucie Farrara and Aren Fairchild) a nudge together. They quickly have a change in plans and spend the post New Years celebration taking in a coffee shop. Neither thinks now is the time to start a relationship. They plan to meet a week later and see where things go from them. Things go wrong and they don't meet as planned.

One Year later Lucie has opened her restaurant and Aren is a food critic. Shirley, Goodness, Mercy, and Will try to help out and things don't quite go as they planned. There is a series of errors that lend to some laughter and some worry for Lucie and Aren. They do finally get together for their first date but it's a wild night with all the shenanigans the Angels pull. Can Lucie and Aren make it through the ups & downs of life and find their way into each other's life?

Lucie and Aren are such a cute, adorable couple you can't help but cheer them on as they go through one trial after another to find their way together.
