The Protected by Shiloh Walker ~The FBI Psychics #4 ~ Review ~

The Protected is the second book I have read by Shiloh Walker. I have to admit I was completely hooked after I read the first book I read, but WOW, this book was just as good as The Reunited. Ms. Walker is an extremely talented author with amazing skills at creating very unique and creative characters.

Vaughnne MacMeans has been assigned the task of watching over a gifted child,  Alex. Alex is in great danger, he has not had an easy childhood and has experienced tremendous loss. Gus has been protecting Alex and will do whatever it takes to keep him safe. These two have led a very dramatic life and are in need of help, even if they don't know it. There is a lot of mystery that unfolds as the story goes on. I'm not going to go into too many details but wow Alex has been through so much and he is such a special young man.

Vaughnne  and Gus form a strong connection instantly. Gus doesn't know if he can trust Vaughnne  but it doesn't take him long to find out that he really should trust her. Gus has taken care of Alex for so long on his own, he doesn't trust anyone but himself with Alex's safety.

Vaughnne has been through a lot as well. When she joins forces with Gus there is nothing that can stand in their way of protecting Alex and making sure he stays safe. I really enjoyed Gus and Vaughnne's story. Not only are the sparks between these two completely intense, they both have some mystery to their past, that adds a little more intrigue to their story.

The Protected is full of drama, intrigue, mystery, and some pretty steamy scenes. I loved the abilities  of everyone on this very intriguing FBI  Psychics team. Ms. Walker has created a very interesting bunch of characters that I can't wait to read more about. My favorite thing about series books is that I get to catch up with characters I have read about before. There were several characters in this story that I had met in The Reunited. I do have to say you do not have to have read the whole series to enjoy each book on it's own. I have only read these two books and I had no problem following along. Now that I have been introduced to this talented author's work, I know I will certainly be on the look out for more.

You may read my review of The Reunited here.

  1. Isn't this a wonderful story? I love the characters that this author can create and I enjoy it even more when we get glimpses of them in other tales. Thanks for the review!
