BLURB:

“We got so busy living life that we forgot to live our dreams.”

Danni Lewis has been playing it safe for twenty-six years, but her sheltered existence is making her feel old ahead of time. When a sudden death plunges her into a spiral of grief, she throws caution to the wind and runs away to France in search of a new beginning.

The moment ski instructor Olivier du Pape enters her shattered world she falls hard, in more ways than one.

Their mutual desire is as powerful and seductive as the mountains around them. His dark gypsy looks and piercing blue eyes are irresistible.

Only she must resist, because he has a wife – and she’d made a pact to never get involved with a married man.

But how do you choose between keeping your word and being true to your soul?

Weak at the Knees is Jo’s debut novel in the new adult, contemporary romance genre – a story about love, loss and relationships, set between London and the heart of the French Alps.

EXCERPT:

I leaned over, intending to air brush his cheeks with mine, but it didn’t quite happen that way. A stronger, more powerful force than my conscience, a force more powerful than morality, changed my path of navigation at the last second, making my lips meet his, melt deliciously into his, over and over and over again, sending shivers of pleasure through every limb in my body. My skin tingled, my head spun, I felt light-headed even though I was sitting down. That’s all we did for over an hour. Kiss and kiss and kiss, tasting each other, pressing our bodies close and steaming up the car. I didn’t want it to ever stop. I never realized that kissing could be so sensual and powerful and overwhelming. If Olivier and I were to never progress beyond kissing, then it would be enough, as long as I could keep on doing it forever. Finally, when he had to go, he hugged me tight and told me he’d wanted to kiss me since the first time we met, when I lay crashed in a snowy heap at his feet.

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

When Jo was ten years old she wrote a short story about losing a loved one. Her mother and big sister were so moved by the tale that it made them cry. Having reduced them to tears she vowed that the next time she wrote a story it would make them smile instead. Happily she succeeded and with this success grew an addiction for wanting to reach out and touch people with words. Jo lives in London with her husband and three children where she works as a TV and print journalist. She tells life stories and can often be found travelling the globe researching the next big holiday hotspots for readers to enjoy. Since becoming a mother anything even remotely sad makes her cry. She’s a sucker for a good romance and tear-jerker movies are the worst. She’s that woman in the cinema, struggling to muffle audible wails as everyone else turns round to stare.

P.S Jo’s pretty certain one of her daughters has inherited this gene.

The Quest for Love by J.E. Wiseman ~ Interview ~

The Quest for Love - Three Stories
The Quest for Love
by J.E. Wiseman

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Interview:
CrystalToday I am happy to have J.E. Wiseman stop by for a short interview.Would you share a little bit about yourself with us today?
 J.E.: I have had an adventurous life. I’ve been writing since I was nine years old. All through my teen years I was a professional tap dancer in a trio with my brother and oldest friend. We were “The Rhythm Boys.” In my early twenties, I worked on a Norwegian freighter traveling all over the Mediterranean and Middle East and writing stories and poetry. I eventually got a Masters Degree in Philosophy and became an educator and started three schools--one was on a farm where we taught self-sufficiency skills to students between high school and college. So, for several years I was a farmer and grew most of my own food. I moved to Maine twenty-five years ago and became a baker and for ten years ran a wonderful café and baked European style breads and pastries. After living in an off the grid cabin in the woods for many years, I moved to a farm built in 1777 and now, I’m living in a small hexagon shaped cabin overlooking a trout pond. For the past eight years or so, I’ve been getting up at four in the morning to write and never miss a day. I’ve written five novels, three books of poetry and a book on education under my real name, Arnold Greenberg and seven books under my pseudonym, J.E. Wiseman.  My newest book, The Quest for Love is a collection of three stories. Another collection, Secrets is about to be published by Lush Publishing. I should add an important part of my adventure was raising four amazing children.
CrystalDo you have a favorite scene you would like to share with us?
 J.E. That’s a hard question. It’s like asking, who is your favorite child, but I really like the ending of “Maggie’s Farm.” I don’t want to say what it is, but it’s a twist and surprise the reader won’t expect. I love how that scene worked.  There’s also a scene in “Tollie’s Garden,” where Sarah gets an amazing surprise, a pottery wheel that changes her life.  In “Taking Chances” Catherine has to tell her husband of thirty-four years, she is love with another man and it breaks her heart to hurt him. It was a painful scene to write. But she takes the chance. That’s why the story is called, “Taking Chances.”
CrystalWhere did you come up with the idea for The Quest for Love?
J.E.: Since “The Quest for Love” is a collection of stories, I had to come up with a title that captured what the stories were about. In all three stories, the central characters are searching for something that makes them happy and fulfilled. For instance, in “Tollie’s Garden,” Tollie asks Sarah, “What are you passionate about?” And she can’t answer. She doesn’t know. Tollie says, “You will never be happy until you find what you are passionate about.” So, all three stories are about the quest to find love and what makes them happy.
CrystalWhat are you currently working on?
 J.E. In addition to working on my J.E. Wiseman books, I am revising a long novel titled, Chaordia—A Novel of Transformation. Chaordia is a combination of the words chaos and order and the novel is about the transformation necessary to meet the challenges of climate change and a world facing serious environmental issues. All of my Arnold Greenberg books are available on Amazon and my own publishing company, Clayfield Books  http://clayfieldbooks.com/
CrystalDo you have a special routine that you follow when you are writing?
 J.E. I get up at four each morning, seven days a week, make a pot of coffee and write until ten or eleven. I take a walk with my dog, Charley, do chores around the cabin and then spend the afternoon reading or editing. I live a very solitary life. Lately, I’ve been working on a series of pond poems I call “Ponderings” and tend to write them in the afternoon.
CrystalDid you have to do a lot of research for this book or for any others? If so do you have an interesting fact that you would like to share with us?
 J.E. My trilogy, Children of the Dream is based on the Atlantis legend and I did a great deal of research about the Lost Continent. The stories take place in the present and the past through the medium of dreams where the central characters have lucid dreams about their past lives on Atlantis. So the books are contemporary but have parallel events from their pasts. The third novel, Children of the One—The Coming takes place in the present and also in the time of Jesus and he is a central character.  In the present, Jesus returns as Jesse, a mulatto handi-man with dreadlocks who is also a brilliant musician, but I had to do a lot of research about Jesus. One of the fascinating things I learned is that for sixteen years, between the ages of thirteen and twenty-nine, Jesus traveled to Persia, India and Tibet where he studied and mastered the art of healing. The novels, Twins of Atlantis-The Awakening was written for my twin boys when they were nine years old. Daughters of Atlas- The Quest was written for my daughter and the third book was written for my oldest son. The books are real page turners similar to the Indiana Jones movies.
CrystalWho are some of your favorite authors that you like to read?
 J.E. Recently, I have been reading Phillip Roth. He’s written thirty-one novels and has just retired at age 84. Mostly, I read the New Yorker magazine from cover to cover and find it so filled with amazing articles and stories. The poetry, however, disappoints me.
CrystalIs there a genre that you haven’t written that you would like to try?
 J.E. I’ve written in most of the genres including essays and plays, but I’ve been thinking of writing a memoire about my café. It was called The Left Bank Café and became a very popular place with live music, plays and poetry readings.  Many nationally known folk, jazz and blues musicians performed there including Odetta, Arlo Gutherie, Tom Rush and many others. People have been urging me to write about the cafe, so that’s on my agenda.
Bio for J.E. Wiseman
J.E. Wiseman is a prolific author of erotica and romance who has lived an adventurous life as a merchant seaman, teacher, farmer and baker. He started writing poetry and stories when he was nine and is now widely published.  His many books are filled with keen observations and provocative ideas that explore the hidden needs and desires of intriguing characters that readers can relate to. After living in the woods in an off-the grid cabin, he now lives on the coast of Maine in a farmhouse built in 1777 where he grows most of his own food.  His books are published by Sweet Cravings Publishing and more recently Lush Books.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blurb: These three captivating stories show how the quest for love can take people to places they never expected. In “Taking Chances,” two nights after celebrating her thirty-fourth wedding anniversary, Catherine Emerson sees Tom Quimby sitting across from her in the park. Though married to Martin, a wonderful man, Tom awakens that part in Catherine that she has been denying. Tom urges Catherine to take a chance and find out what she has been missing. What happens is exciting and heart breaking.
 “Maggie’s Farm” tells about the day that Thom, feeling the need to get away, stops at a farm stand in the middle of nowhere and meets Maggie, who, seduces him to go with her up to the barn. Thom soon realizes that Maggie is a lot more than a sexy farmer and when she invites him to stay with her on the farm, he agrees. You won’t believe what happens.
 “Tollie’s Garden” tells how Sarah gradually gets to know the older man living in their carriage house and to her surprise, finds the love of her life.

Wounded by Jaymie Holland ~ Cheyenne McCray ~ Review ~

Wounded is my very first foray into a BDSM book. I found it to be very intriguing and interesting. At first my thoughts were that can be done? So I found myself reading faster to see just exactly how it could be done! I must say I don't think I will be trying any of the new positions I read about any time soon but I'd certainly be open to reading more.

I really enjoyed Wounded by Jaymie Holland (Cheyenne McCray ) and I know I would most certainly be interested to read more of her work. I found her to be one of those authors that I didn't have a hard time following along and I was quickly turning pages. I like her style and I found it to be a very quick and easy read. I also found it to be a VERY HOT read! So you might want to find some ice and cold drink before you read this one. There are other items you may wish to grab as well, I'll leave that to your imagination.

Amanda wants to try out being a sub so she goes to a place with her friend where this is their speciality. She's not sure this is her thing but she certainly wants to try it. When she meets Master Neill there is a connection between these two. Master Neill does not plan on being her training Dom but he can't help himself. I really enjoyed watching this connection play out between these two. Neill certainly isn't looking for a relationship so he gets scared when he starts to form feelings for Amanda. I'm not going to tell you any more then that about the story. I try not to spoil anything for you all before you get a chance to read it yourself. I will say that I really enjoyed how this story ended too. I thought it was the perfect ending.

This is ONE HOT STEAMY book, with a lot of action between the Doms & Subs. There are back ground characters that I have a feeling may appear in a story of their own somewhere along the way. I would love to read their story.

I would certainly love to read more of Cheyenne McCray's work, I have a feeling she has more wonderful stories that I would like to read.

I was given the opportunity to read this book to share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thought with you all.

Spy in the Saddle by Dana Marton ~ Review~

I have now had the pleasure of reading two books in the HQ: Texas series by Dana Marton. Spy in the Saddle is a wonderful addition to the series. I enjoyed this book just as much as My Spy. Ms. Marton has created a fascinating group of characters that really know how to get the job done. This book is packed full of action and drama with some mystery too of course. There are a few steamy scenes too. Ms. Marton has certainly created a series that I am going to enjoy following.

Shep Lewis has had some relationship problems in the past. He never imagined the woman that caused him so much trouble years ago would appear on this assignment. When Lilly Tanner is the FBI agent assigned to the case, he just hopes they can stay out of each others way. Of course that is impossible! The sparks start flying as soon as they meet again and when thrown into some dangerous situations those sparks become more like fireworks!

Shep & Lilly work well together to try to piece together the smuggling ring case. They find themselves in some dangerous situations and work well to keep themselves alive.

I really liked Lilly, this girl is use to doing whatever it takes to get the job done. I thought what she did in order to gain an "in" to the bar they were investigating was pretty cool. Shep didn't much like her idea but found to try to keep her safe. I think this was some of my favorite scene's in the book. I don't want to tell you what Lilly does because it will spoil it for you. So you'll just have to grab your own copy and read it for yourself.

This book really is packed with lots of action and drama. This is part of a series and I have read the previous book but none of the others in the series. I had No problem at all reading either book, so I think you would be able to read these as a stand alone just fine. So if you have not read the rest of the series don't let that stop you from starting the series now.

If you enjoy a romantic suspense story with lots of action, drama, and some steamy scenes I think you will enjoy this book. I also think you may enjoy more of Ms. Marton's work because I know I am sure enjoying her wonderful talent. I have a couple more of her books in my to be read pile and I can't wait to get to them. I think I have found myself another new favorite author! I can't wait to see what Dana Marton comes up with for the other books in this series.

I was given the fabulous opportunity to read this book so I may share my thoughts. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

You may read my review of My Spy here..

He can’t let that get in the way—his Pride is counting on him.
Warning: this title contains hot, steamy, explicit sex told in contemporary graphic language and violence.

BLURB:

A legend among his own kind…even among the Hunters, Malachi was unique. He always had been…from the beginning.

Then he realizes it is his destiny. Embracing that destiny could lead to freedom—or it could lead him into an endless hell.
Author’s note: This is the story of how Malachi was Changed and how he was led to the Hunters. Although his future mate is alluded to, this isn’t their story. It’s Malachi’s story, or at least, the beginning of it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:

 Some love can last a lifetime—their love was destined to last longer.
Angel’s first words to Kel were “I’m going to marry you.” She was seven at the time. He was eight. And he didn’t laugh when she spoke the words. Best friends as children, lovers as young adults, they had an unexplainable bond. Their future looked set. Until the night they were attacked by a creature that couldn’t exist.
Angel survived the attack—barely. But Kel didn’t. Or at least, nobody thought he did. His body was never found and Angel’s life would never be the same.
The attack might not have killed Kel’s body, but it sure as hell killed his heart. Twelve years later, there’s one part of his former life that he can’t move past. Angel. He can’t let her go, but he can’t have her either. She doesn’t even realize he is still alive.
But when a threat surfaces, Kel’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect Angel. Even if it drives them both to the edge of insanity and back.
Warning: Some violence. Some sex. Some bloody violence. Even a little bit of bloody sex. Not all of the sex is between the hero and the heroine, even though every time that happens, the hero closes his eyes and thinks of England Angel. Not exactly a traditional romance, but I promise it does end HEA.
This book has been previously published and has been repackaged.

Mate of the Alpha by Marie Mason ~ Fangtastic Book Tours~ Excerpt ~ Giveaway ~

Mate of the Alpha
by Marie Mason

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blurb:
Ethan Scott was reluctant to claim his mate, Lily Reynolds. He was afraid his carnal needs would be too much for the curvy innocent. His wolf was of another mind, pushing the man relentlessly to mate. But Ethan knew once he had the brown-haired beauty there would no turning back. He’d claim her, mate her, and bred her. When she’s attacked by a group of rouge wolves, Ethan fears he has left his claiming too late and will lose his mate forever. When he comes to her rescue, he discovers the spirited Lily is more than ready to be the mate of an alpha.
Lily Reynolds has been crushing on her boss since she started work at Wolfe Enterprises six months ago. She knew the chances of attracting the wolf into a long-term relationship were slim to none – slim being a state she hadn’t achieved since childhood. She loved her curves and knew there was someone out there who would love every soft, luscious inch of her voluptuous body. Heartbroken, she knew Ethan Scott wasn’t that man despite the hot and cold signals the wolf shifter had been given her for months.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt:

In his mate, he sensed a reserve. There was a wariness within the depths of her pretty, brown eyes that spoke of something, he suspected, that had to do with a man. It made him angry to think anyone had ever hurt his mate. But knowing he’d have to overcome her natural resistance and some asshole’s past behavior was a challenge.

A sense of challenge in regards to a woman, especially a mate, was arousing as hell.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicThankfully, there wasn’t so much as a hint of feeling intimidated by him in her demeanor. Fate would not have given him a woman who would be cowered by his dominance. She would have given him a mate who completed him, who balanced the arrogance of his wolf.

There were other reasons for his reluctance to claim his mate. There was an air of such pure innocence surrounding Lily that it frightened him. He was a creature of the forest, an earthy, sexual being. He knew mating with him would expose her to his wolf’s – hell, the man’s – ferocious carnal appetite, the constant craving. The need to dominate her sexually. Of course, he would protect her and provide for her as no other male ever could. He was her mate, too. Designed to fulfill her needs and wants and desires. He just didn’t know if she was ready to be the mate of the alpha.

He smiled as he handed her the contracts. Slowly, sensuously, sending a silent message he hoped she was starting to understand. He wanted her and he was going to have her. She was careful not to touch his hand as she took the sheaf of papers. Noting her stealth to not so much as brush his fingers with her own, Ethan’s eyes danced with deviltry.

“I’m sure I can manage it,” she said primly before she turned and walked back to her office, unaware of the big, bad wolf ogling her rounded ass and curvy legs.

The sensation of simmering expectancy inside Ethan ratcheted up to rioting anticipation. The man and wolf both thought – tonight is the night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Interview:
Crystal: Today as part of a tour for Fangtastic Book Tours I have the opportunity to interview Glory Rabenaugh. Would you share a little bit about yourself with us today?
Glory: I’m an extremely shy and private person. I keep to myself, I don’t do public engagements, I hate walking into a crowded restaurant by myself. I’m pretty sure I have a social anxiety disorder but I’m okay with that because that’s me! I’m divorced with two amazing children. I was born, raised, and still reside in the suburbs of St. Louis. I’m half Japanese and half German and I’m passionate about passing on both cultures to my children. I love writing because it lets me live. It allows me to be someone that I’m not, experience things that I would never do, feel like the heroine that I’ll never be. It is an escape and I love unique, original story lines that make you wonder if they could actually be true
Crystal: Where did you come up with the idea for Revelations Coming?
Glory: I've been wanting to do a religious themed vampire story with a twist for quite some time. I happened to start writing with Venus as my main character and things fell into place. I don't outline my stories at all. I might have a particular idea or theme in mind and then I just let the pieces fall where they may. So, my theme for Revelations Coming was that Jesus was the first vampire and gifted his twelve Disciples with everlasting life in the form of vampirism and thus created thirteen Vampyre Bloodlines. Though the story doesn't mention religion too much more than that, it was the underlying theme of the rest of the story.
Crystal: What are you currently working on?
Glory: Oh my gosh...I'm working on too many things at once right now! My other new release, "Crossroads", The Wanderlust Series #1 was released at the same time as "Revelations Coming". I have three more books written for The Wanderlust Series and I need to convert them into a third person omniscient point of view rather than first person. It's really a horrible task lol. I'm also working on the sequel to "Revelations Coming" called "Revelations Anointed". In addition to that, I have three other story lines that I'm working on. Two are vampire related and one is a young/new adult suspense romance. See? Too many things at once!
Crystal: Do you have any special routine that you follow when you are writing?
Glory: I don’t like to have a strict schedule or routine. I have to be in a writing zone to write…otherwise whatever I put out is garbage. Same with drawing (I enjoy drawing by hand). But when I am in that zone where the flood gates in my brain spill wide open, I will write from the second I wake up until I can’t keep my eyes open any longer. The only breaks I will take are to get more iced tea, make dinner for the kids, or answer a call for any one of my other jobs.
Crystal: Did you have to do a lot of research for this book or any other? If so do you have a fascinating fact that you have learned you would like to share with us?
Glory: I often do research on the settings of the book and the places my characters visit so that I can get the imagery down. I like my readers to be able to visualize the buildings, the streets, the woods, the town...as if they are in the story as well. On this book I did a lot of research on the Christian religion. I grew up Catholic so I was familiar with many of teachings already. I also did extensive research on the Descendants of Cain. There is a faction that actually believes that there is a human line of Satan, from the offspring of Adam & Lilith  or Eve & the Devil.
Crystal: Who are some of your favorite authors that you like to read?
Glory: I could read Laurell K. Hamilton and J.R. Ward all day long. I'm also a fan of Lauren Oliver, Colleen Gleason & Keri Arthur.
Crystal: Is there a genre you haven't written that you would like to try?
Glory: One book I'm writing now is something I've been wanting to try. It's a mesh of genres really...a cross between Young/New Adult, suspense, and quasi-dystopian. No vamps, no werewolves, no witches. Just a corrupt government, a world filled with hate, some really crazy people, and a beautiful love story.
Crystal: Do you have a favorite scene you would like to share with us?
Glory: This is one of my favorites...it is towards the beginning of the book. Venus just survived a standoff between the Rex Deus and the Descendants of Cain. Venus, Arias, and his men are in a plane flying back to Arias' home in Dubai.
Venus was unconscious for a very long time. As she stirred, she knew she was on a jet and they were landing. She was curled into a small ball on a leather couch and Arias and his frightening second in command were talking in the opposite corner. She sat up groaning from the crashing pain that infiltrated her head. In a flash, Arias was crouched by her side cupping her face in his massive hands and the headache went away immediately. He lowered his body onto the black leather and pulled her to him.
"Sleep little one..."
Even his accent was beautiful. The 'l' sound curling its way artfully around his skilled tongue. His voice alone melted her insides, a deep baritone with an edge, gravely as if he rarely spoke. She curled up again and laid her head on his lap. One enormous hand soothed her back, the other stroked her silky hair. She drifted back off into a dark bliss.
Arias stared at the head in his lap. He had grown painfully hard the moment his eyes met hers back at Riken's warehouse and the damn thing wouldn't go down now. It didn't really help that her face was just a mere inch or two from it. Hell, he could feel her warm breath against his cock even with the rough piece of material covering the lower half of his body. She was so tiny he feared that he would break her if he had his way. Everything about her was beautiful, her tiny curves, her perfect lips, her bright green eyes. He stroked her hair again and was even stunned by its brilliant shine. Browns and blondes mixed together, soft as silk, he marveled as it thread through his fingers.
"My Lord?" Justice called waiting for him at the jet's door.
Arias looked down again at the treasure in his arms. He picked her up gently so not to wake her and made his way out of the plane to his awaiting limo. She packed power, his woman. He thought it surprised her just as much as it surprised all of the Vampyre around her. She was amazing. So innocent that he fought back the guilt that consumed him for wanting her. His guilt wouldn't stop him though from claiming her. She was his and she chose him over that damned goody-goody Riken. The look on Riken's face had been priceless. Riken couldn't fathom why she wanted him. Arias frowned...he couldn't really fathom it either. He was her opposite in every way. He was massive, she was diminutive. He was a savage creature of the dark. She seemed as bright as the sun itself. But she was a warrior, like him. The image of her standing defiantly amidst the gunfire, protecting him sent a wave of pain through his heart. He let out a deep breath, a gust that flitted over her silken hair. He had never had feelings like these...not ever. Oh, he had women...hundreds of harems of women in fact but it was all empty release. Not even pleasure. This girl in his arms had the power to destroy him whether she knew it or not.
Blurb:
A teen who has seen and experienced too much for her years, Venus is thrown into the dark and seedy underworld of the Vampyre Nation. Shocking revelations about the truth of Christianity, coupled with her coming of age romances aid Venus to discover more about her past and ultimately reveal what is to become of her future. Revelations Coming, the first installation in The Dark Truth Novel series, will terrify you with the sadistic nature of both Vampyres and Angels and entice you with the not-so-innocent and increasingly passionate sexual encounters Venus endures.
Excerpt:
“Arias is here my lord,” Corbin spit out breathlessly.
“Come Venus,” Riken said already starting for the door.
She didn’t hesitate and all but plastered herself against him. Venus knew to be frightened from Riken’s earlier description of the other Dark Prince. He was enormous, dangerous, cruel. The embodiment of Satan himself. He led a bloodline full of sadist, bloodthirsty vampires and this was the one searching for her. She didn’t want to meet this creature. They rushed out of the office, down a back staircase and towards a back entrance. Venus slammed into Riken when he stopped abruptly. She peered around him to see what was going on and Venus swallowed hard as a warrior filled her vision…one that could only be Arias Hassan.
She gasped, robbed of any breath. Lord, he was beautiful. Tattoos covered his massive arms and bare chest, his head was shaved bald. He was the color of chocolate sand and he emanated power and a call so strong and deep within her, her knees weakened immediately. He had nearly black eyes that started to swirl and twist like a turbulent ocean as soon as he saw her. His guards almost equally massive fanned out around him. It was clear that Riken and his crew were no match for these warriors.
“Come to me,” Arias growled to her.
Venus’ eyes widened as her body listened without hesitation. His command was like a direct line of energy to her chest, pulling her towards him. Riken pulled her against him creating havoc within her. Both of their blood was calling to her but Arias’ was stronger.
He was older than Riken, by nearly three hundred years. Venus unconsciously struggled against Riken’s hold.
“No Venus, don’t leave me.” Riken pleaded.
“Come to me little one,” Arias purred again.
Venus started forward again when she heard the click of a safety being thrown off. She turned her head to the side and watched horrified as Corbin palmed an enormous gun in his hand and fired at Arias.
“No!” she screamed, her power billowing out of her.
Her entire focus was on the path of that bullet. If she failed that bullet would find its way into the Prince’s temple and while it wouldn’t kill him, it would incapacitate him enough for Riken and his men to destroy him by severing his head. She refused to let that happen, no matter how bad that man was in front of her. The bullet dropped to the floor feet from Arias. Venus was breathing hard from the mental exertion that she hadn’t used in over ten years, disbelief and relief flooding her body. Arias’ jaw dropped slightly and his lips parted. He raised his hand to beckon her to him again. But Venus realized too late that it wasn’t to beckon her to him, it was to stop her. Guns exploded around her from both sides, Venus trapped in the middle. She heard Arias’ roar and she heard Riken’s roar. Stop! She screamed in her head, thrusting her arms out. Her mental power that she had hidden and been ashamed of for so long, flooded out of her body, billowing her hair about her head.
