#Review - Hot Combat by Elle James

Don't you just love when you start a new book and find yourself so engrossed in the story that you have read a majority of the book in no time at all? That is what happened to me when I started Hot Combat by Elle James. I was so completely engrossed in the story that I finished it in one setting. I just could not set this book down.

Charlie McClain is a smart independent single mother raising an adorable little girl. She needs all the money she can make to pay the bills and pay off her student loans. She never dreams that her "night" job could lead danger to her and her daughter. Charlie is one of those characters that is so likable that I felt like I gained a new friend right from the beginning of the story.

Jon "Ghost" Caspar has suffered an injury while on a mission with his SEAL team. While he is still on medical leave he has been loaned out to home land security. Ghost is a charming guy that knows how to get the job done. He is ready to head back to his team until he learns who it is he's going to be looking after.

I enjoyed watching Charlie and Ghost getting know each other again. The attraction that was there seven years ago is still simmering at the surface. That simmering attraction is hard to contain and oh my when it erupts things turn rather warm quickly. There are so many things that are holding these two apart. They have a lot of issues to deal with if they are going to find their happily ever after together.

Some of my favorite scenes involve Lolly. She is such a sweet little girl. She's smart, kind, and so much to the story line.

Ghost is protective of those he cares about and Charlie and Lolly are on the top of that list. He and his team have to figure out who is threatening Charlie before something drastic happens. I can tell this is going to be an awesome series and I can not wait to find out more about the other members of this team. These guys work well together. Now they just have to find more answers.

There are some incredibly dramatic action packed scenes that left me breathless and wondering how everyone is going to get through the situation unharmed. Elle James writes the kind of stories that I can devour quickly and leaves me craving her next release as soon as possible.

I was given the chance to read this fantastic story and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.
