When a Duke Loves a Woman: A Sins for All Seasons Novel by [Heath, Lorraine]

About When a Duke Loves a Woman:

Gillie Trewlove knows what a stranger’s kindness can mean, having been abandoned on a doorstep as a baby and raised by the woman who found her there. So, when suddenly faced with a soul in need at her door—or the alleyway by her tavern—Gillie doesn’t hesitate. But he’s no infant. He’s a grievously injured, distractingly handsome gentleman who doesn’t belong in Whitechapel, much less recuperating in Gillie’s bed . . .
Being left at the altar is humiliating; being rescued from thugs by a woman—albeit a brave and beautiful one—is the pièce de résistance to the Duke of Thornley’s extraordinarily bad day. After nursing him back from the brink, Gillie agrees to help him comb London’s darker corners for his wayward bride. But every moment together is edged with desire and has Thorne rethinking his choice of wife. Yet Gillie knows the aristocracy would never accept a duchess born in sin. Thorne, however, is determined to prove to her that no obstacle is insurmountable when a duke loves a woman.

Review:

When a Duke Loves a Woman: A Sins for All Seasons Novel by [Heath, Lorraine]I have found another wonderful historical romance author to add to my ever growing list of must reads. Lorraine Heath's When a Duke Loves a Woman has all those fabulous things that make a great read. The story is fascinating with a touch of drama, mystery, suspense and of course a wonderful romance. The Characters are compelling and I quickly established a bond with both Gillie and Thorne.

Gillie Trewlove comes from a family that has been put together mostly with children that were not wanted by their birth parents. The Trewlove family may not be bound by blood but they are a tight-knit family that sticks together. I love Gillie's spunk. This lady has carved out her place in the world where women really are not allowed to be on their own and take care of a successful business. Gillie has her nitch and she's good at it.

The  Duke of Thornley set out to find his missing bride to be. He was left at the altar by the lady his father had arranged for him to marry. Gillie walks out her back door to find a bunch of hooligans robbing and beating him senseless. Gillie scares the thieves away and takes in Thorne. She nurses him until he well enough to travel by coach to his home.

Throne shows up to Thank Gillie for keeping him alive and ask for her help to find his lost bride. He's changed his mind about the marriage but he's a soft-hearted gentleman that wants to make sure she is OK. During their search feelings start to grow and the attraction starts to steam.

There are so many things that stand between Thorne and Gillie's relationship. Their background could not be more different, Gillie want's freedom to own her Saloon, and Thorne needs to marry to produce an heir. However sometimes love just may be strong enough to get these two through all the obstacles that stand in their way.

I truly enjoyed reading Gillie and Thorne's story. They are a unique and fun couple. I had the pleasure of reading about one of Gillie's brother's in a previous book. I truly enjoyed that story as well and I can not wait to see what Ms. Heath may have in store for more members of the Trewlove family. I will certainly be waiting to read more from this talented lady.

I was given the opportunity to read this incredible book and it is my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.
