Eye of the Storm By Denise Moncrief is part of the Moonlight Mysteries series. I have read three books from this series now and they have all been good, quick reading, short mysteries. I enjoyed Eye of the Storm just as much as the previous two books I had read. Kieran Talbot has enough problems of her own that she is trying to get away from. She's at her friend's beach house to re-group. The weather is turning nasty and she is just settling in to wait out the storm. She doesn't need or want another problem to show up on her door step. That's exactly what she gets in the form of bloody and injured Davis Jackson. Kieran puts her medical skills to use and help him the best she can with what she has to work with.
Kieran and Davis are just getting to know each other when trouble for both of them appears. These two are going to have to work together to survive. Not only are they in danger from some bad folks, they have a nasty hurricane to dell with. You talk about bad luck, it seems to be following these two around.
Denise Moncrief has a way of putting a lot of drama and Action into 26 pages. This is another one of those page turners that you just have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. This book throws in some twist that you don't expect and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed this short story mystery romance.
