Thrust into her new role, Haven strikes a hasty but lucrative trade deal, only to find out her new star forward and the sexy groomsman she hooked up with at a friend’s wedding are the same man.
At thirty-two, Jack knows if he’s going to have his chance at the Stanley Cup, it’s now or never. But instead of landing a spot on his dream team, he winds up traded to the last-place Milwaukee
Renegades, where he soon finds himself playing to a non-existent fan base in a rundown stadium named after crappy pizza. He’s tempted to hang up his skates, except he’s fought for everything he has and he isn’t about to give up without a fight.
In a sport where men coach, play, and call the shots, Haven struggles to find her footing. Worse, she can’t keep her hands off the team merchandise—Jack. With Jack on the team and on her side, the Renegades are playing less like middling beer-leaguers and more like a pro-level hockey club.
But Jack and Haven are hiding a dirty little secret, and if the media discovers they’re melting the ice after hours, it’s game over.
Genre: Sports Romance
Series: The Nolan Brothers Series, book 3
Excerpt:
Satiated and powerless, an unguarded smile teased its way to Haven’s lips.
“Thank you.” Jack dropped a soft kiss on her forehead. “But next time, we do it for real.”
She sputtered, “Wh-what do you mean?”
“Don’t get me wrong. That was amazing. You are amazing.” He pressed his mouth to her shoulder, over the spot where her clavicle had been broken. “But that wasn’t real sex.”
He rolled off her and pushed up off the bed.
She thrashed to a sitting position. “You thought that wasn’t real sex?”
The long shaft of his manhood still plump, he tugged his boxer briefs over his hips. “That was porn sex. It looked great, it felt fucking fantastic, but it’s not real sex.”
He’d stunned her to speechlessness. She hadn’t been speechless since she was a troubled teenager craving attention.
“I-I-I don’t understand you.” With the plaintive ring in her voice, she even sounded like that troubled teenager.
His gaze clamped on her face, he moved to the edge of the bed and wrapped his hand around her ankle.
“Real sex is out of control.” His thumb traced circles around her anklebone. “It’s losing your mind and forgetting about everything that doesn’t serve the purpose of getting you off.” Lifting her leg, he sat on the bed. “It’s total surrender. To me.” He kissed the bottom of her foot. Then his hand on her knee gently eased her legs apart. “To your body.” He kissed the soft skin on the inside of her thigh. “To us.”

Chuckling to herself Kari met up with Rex just past the transport tunnel on the way to the Council room. At the door she saw Meryn standing with her hands on her hips, face turned up to the man at the door. Kari looked over at Rex who was now scowling. Rex and Kari walked up behind Meryn. Rex wrapped protective arm around Meryn’s shoulders.
“What seems to be a problem here?” he asked.
The man looked up, eyed Rex quickly. “No one is to be admitted.”
“On whose authority?” Rex demanded.
“The founding families have determined these will be closed-door proceedings.”
The guard never even looked up as he was speaking to Rex.
“Son, do you know who I am?” he asked.
The guard scoffed. “I am a vampire and probably older than you shifter. Watch who you call son.”
Kari heard a distinctive sound and then looked over Rex was grinding his teeth, his jaw muscles clenched. Declan shared the same habit when he was aggravated.

Excerpt:
Aaron hummed contentedly as he walked along
the white-painted corridor towards the locker room. He was happy in his job as
a hospital porter. He might not be saving lives, like his doctor boyfriend,
Blake, but he liked to think he was improving them. He made the effort with the
patients he transported around—or the ones that were well enough to hold a
conversation with him, anyway. He chatted to them, showed an interest, tried to
make them laugh, always remained positive, even when things were bleak. That
was his way of spreading a little cheer, or helping someone forget their
worries, even if it was only for a few minutes. It was a small contribution,
but a contribution nonetheless, and it made him feel good.
The corridor stretched on, and Aaron
thought for the umpteenth time that it could do with some artwork on the
walls—something other than doors to break up the interminable expanse of white
paint and grey dado rail. But patients never came to this area of the
building—unless they were lost—so there was no need to spend any more money on
it than was absolutely necessary. Aaron understood that, but boy did it make
for a dull walk to the locker room.
As he continued his journey, he saw that a
supply cupboard door on the left hand side of the corridor was ajar. It was
nothing unusual—people often propped doors open with their feet if they were
just leaning in to grab something, or used something as a door stop if they
needed both hands to carry what they’d come to collect and therefore couldn’t
open the door again to let themselves out.
Reaching the door, he’d just opened his
mouth to call out and ask whoever it was if they needed help, when the gap grew
wider. A white-clad arm appeared and the accompanying hand grabbed the front of
his T-shirt, pulling him roughly into the cupboard.
“Wha—”
Aaron didn’t even get chance to finish his
exclamation, as he’d been slammed against the now-closed cupboard door, and
hard, demanding lips were pressed to his. Lips, he realised, as his brain
caught up with the turn of events, that belonged to Doctor Blake Colville. Lips
that were allowed to kiss his, thank God!
The fresh, spicy scent of Blake’s cologne
invaded Aaron’s nostrils, and he relaxed into the kiss, returned it with
enthusiasm. Blake’s tongue sought entrance to Aaron’s mouth, and he gave it
willingly, moaning as their tongues slipped and tangled together sensuously,
and Blake’s firm, lithe body pinned his slightly-more-muscular one against the
cool wood of the door. He stifled any further moans that wanted to sneak out,
remembering that, hot as the situation was, it was also pretty precarious, and
both of them could get into serious trouble if they were caught. Patients may
not frequent this area of the building, but the staff sure did.
Reaching out, he gripped the lapels of
Blake’s white coat and pulled, so their bodies were crushed together and their
kiss grew bruisingly brutal—in a good way.
The move had clearly fanned the flames of
Blake’s lust, because he began grinding his crotch against Aaron’s, teasing
their already erect cocks and pushing them both rapidly towards the point of no
return.
But could there be a point of no return,
given where they were? How on earth would they get away with making love—or, in
this case, should it be fucking?–in a supply cupboard in the hospital? Granted,
it was one of the quieter areas of the building, but bloody hell…

#Review - Shore Is Magical by Annette Mardis
Annette Mardis caught my attention with her first book Getting Her Money's Worth. Then I read The Shore Thing and I became an even bigger fan of this talented lady. Annette Mardis was quickly added to my must read NOW list. I couldn't wait to get my hands on Shore is Magical. I have been anxiously awaiting it's release. I quickly devoured the story shortly after I received it.
Shore is Magical features a very unique and interesting story line with fabulously well written characters.
I had met Kenshin Hamasaki in the previous books in this series. Honestly at first this guy was not on my like list. I thought he needed a touch of an attitude adjustment. However now that I have really gotten a chance to meet Kenshin I can see why his attitude may have given the impression he was jerk. Underneath that harsh exterior lays the broken heart of a man that has endured way more than anyone should have to. I quickly came to like Kenshin and cheered for his happiness. This guy deserves all the happiness he can get.
In steps or should I say appears Marina. Marina is a sweet young lady that is just a tad bit different than the rest of the crew at Gulf Shore Aquarium. I found a quick attachment to Marina as did the rest of the friends at Gulf Shore Aquarium. She's a very likable lady and exactly what the doctor prescribed to help mend Kenshin's heart.
This book does have a paranormal element. I LOVED it and Ms. Mardis has done a wonderful job of weaving a paranormal story into a series that until this book had been contemporary romance. She has created a fun paranormal story with interesting characters that just adds into the mix of a terrific romance story. The friendships among those that work at Gulf Shore Aquarium and their spouses are really close. Their friendships go beyond just friends and co -workers this bunch has formed a very tight knit family.
Kenshin and Marina have a LOT of obstacles to over come and many many issues that need to be solved if they are going to find their happily ever after. They are really going to lay their hearts on the line for this relationship. New relationships are tough enough but these two have many things to deal with and a HUGE secret that must be kept.
Shore is Magical held me spellbound and kept me intrigued from the first page all the way to the end. I was turning those pages just as quickly as I possible could so I could see what was going to happen next.
There are some major twist and turns that I did not see coming that I read with bated breathe and a tear in my eye. It was a very unexpected tear at that. So you may want to grab a few Kleenex when you settle in to read this incredible story. You just might need them. I know I did.
I LOVED this story! It was great to see my friends at the aquarium again and so lovely to meet Marina. I truly enjoyed my visit and was enthralled with the story of Kenshin and Marina. It was great to see everyone again and catch up a bit on their lives.
I hear there is another book in the making in this series. I can't wait to see what Ms. Mardis has in store for us lucky readers next. I do know I'm already anxious to get my hot little hands on that book just as soon as it releases.
This is the fourth book in the series but never fear it will stand on it's own just fine. I have had a chance to read the whole series and they are ALL great. So you might want to pick up the whole series while your shopping. I know you won't be disappointment. I know I loved each and every one of them.
I was given the chance to read this remarkable story and it is my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

EXCERPT from Once Upon a Love Letter by Jill Jaynes:
Chloe blinked up at the guy standing before her. Her glance slid up over the black leather jacket that accentuated his slim waist and broad shoulders, then settled on his face: green eyes, ruffled auburn hair, killer smile complete with dimple. He’d been a heart-throb basketball star in high school, and her secret (okay, maybe not so secret) crush for her whole junior year. He’d apparently grown into the full powers of his charm.

EXCERPT:
She bit her lower lip, trying to get on solid ground, but from the hunger on his face, she shouldn’t have done that. The imprint of last night’s dream was still fresh in her mind, and she went for a bitchier approach, hoping to deter him. “Oh, please, Niall. My dad was more of a do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do type of parent. So right now, I need these more than I need to be lectured, thank you very much.”
He shrugged a shoulder, and a wayward dark curl fell over his left eyebrow. “Fair enough. Could I make an observation, though?”
Lark put the cigarette between two fingers and played with the lighter in her other hand, prepared to take it outside. “Could I stop you?”
The corners of Niall’s mouth twitched. He glanced down, and she moved in for the kill.
“What? Oh, I’m sorry, are you intimidated by strong women?”
His gaze shot back up and fixed on hers. “Oh, no. On the contrary; I find it alluring. I find you, in particular, extremely alluring, though it’s unethical.”
Panic shot through her. What in tarnation was she doing? She should tell him she was with Charles, discourage him. But the way his eyes caught the hallway light, turning them a deep viridian, reminded her of their tryst in the cottage. She said nothing, but her nipples peaked and pressed against her shirt like hard pebbles. He glanced down at them and moved toward her until she found herself pushed up against the wall, trapped. She wasn’t an expert at reading people or anything, but I want you might as well have been written on his forehead in permanent marker. He dropped his law books on the floor without preamble and cupped her face in his hands, leaning forward to kiss her, with no uncertainty this time.
Stunned, she dropped her smoking items as his mouth claimed hers. She let out an involuntary whimper as he touched his tongue to hers, and it appeared to be all the encouragement he needed. With a groan, he fisted the lower back of her shirt and tugged her toward him as his other hand sought the side of her neck.
