#Review ~ A Duke Changes Everything by Christy Carlyle ~ @avonbooks @writerchristy

A Duke Changes Everything: The Duke's Den by [Carlyle, Christy]My Review:

A Duke Changes Everything is the first book I have had the chance to read by Christy Carlyle. Oh my, what a book to start with! I do believe I may just have found another author that I have to add to my must-read list.

Mina Thorne is my kind of gal. She embodies everything I would hope I would have been if I had lived in that time. This lady is incredibly smart, she is kind and caring, she's independent because she is used to handling things on her own, and this lady can run the Enderley Estate. She stepped into her father's shoes as steward of the estate. I admired this lady from the first pages and she was incredibly easy to bond with. Mina has not had an easy life. It's been tough but she has done her best with what she has.

Nicholas Lyon is the new Duke of Tremayne. It's a job he never wanted at a home that was never his "home". Nicholas has had a rough life from childhood and then on. He has done everything and anything that helped him survive and then thrive. He's the very successful owner of a gambling club. Nick was another character that I bonded with quickly. He is strong, intelligent, and certainly not looking for romance or love.

I think maybe one of my favorite parts of the book is when Mina meets the new Duke. Neither of them is aware of who the other is and they are in an awkward situation that involves climbing a tree, a ladder, and a very pregnant and scared cat. There is an attraction and yet a friction between these two from the beginning. Watching these two very independent people getting to know each other was captivating. There is so much that these two have in common yet so much that is so different about their lives. Watching the secrets revealed and the emotions surface for each of them lead to me flipping pages quickly to see what was going to happen next and just how these two may ever find their way to a happily ever after. There is a lot that each has to overcome and reveal.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It has all the wonderful ingredients that make up a wonderful story. There is drama, tangled emotions, incredible characters, friendships, romance, and some oh so hot and steamy scenes.

I can not wait to see what Ms. Carlyle comes up with next for us lucky readers. I know I will be watching for more of her work and for the next book in The Duke's Den Series. It has the makings of a wonderful new series and I can't wait to read more.

I was given the opportunity to read this incredible story and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

A Duke Changes Everything: The Duke's Den by [Carlyle, Christy]In the first novel in Christy Carlyle’s sizzling Duke’s Den series, three men, intent on making a fortune, discover irresistible opportunities . . .
Nicholas Lyon gambled his way into a fortune and ownership of the most opulent, notorious gentlemen’s club in England. But when Nick’s cruel brother dies, he inherits a title he never wanted. The sooner Nick is rid of the estate that has always haunted him, the sooner he can return to the life he’s built in London. But there’s one obstacle—the exquisite Thomasina Thorne.
When the new heir to the Tremayne dukedom suddenly appears in Mina Thorne’s life, she’s flustered. Not only is he breathtakingly handsome, but he’s also determined to take away her home and position as steward of the Enderley estate. If Mina learns what makes the enigmatic duke tick, perhaps she can change his mind—as long as she doesn’t get too close to him.
With each day Nick spends with Mina, his resolve weakens as their colliding wills lead to explosive desire. Could she be the one woman who can help him finally bury the ghosts of his past?
