Boots and the Rogue by Myla Jackson ~ Ugly Stick Saloon #10 ~Review

The Ugly Stick Saloon series is a fun steaming hot series that is always an enjoyable read. I have been looking forward to the next story in this series to see how the McFarlan brothers handle that demand their mother made. She wants her boys to settle down and start producing her some grandchildren. She's not afraid to use a little blackmail to encourage those boys to get their rear ends in gear!

Brody McFarlan returns home upon his brother's request. When he arrives home and doesn't find what he was told, well let's just say that he has questions and someone better to start answer them quickly!

Brody is a little hesitant to trust again. He's been burned by a relationship and his brother. So when he finds the new lady in town very attractive, he takes his time showing how he feels.

Jessie Taylor is one of those characters that I admired from the beginning. She makes an very interesting entrance into the story. Jessie has had so many cases of bad luck that she is in need of some good luck and a few good friends. The folks of Ugly Stick Saloon is just what she needs. I love how everyone sticks together and is always willing to help each other and anyone else in need.

Brody falls for Jessie at first bite, of hamburger that is. Then he gets the rotten end of the stick when Jessie misunderstand his offer. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It was so funny but poor Brody gets more then he was bargaining for. After they get pass the initial misunderstanding the attraction between these two is intense. The tension between these leads to some smoldering hot scenes with some major fireworks.

I love series because it gives me a chance to see what all my "friends" are up to and what has been going on in their lives since the last book. I also love the family interaction in this book. I have to say that Mrs. McFarlan is quite the lady. She is welcoming to Jessie and takes her under her wing. She may do just a little matchmaking along the way, just a little. She certainly has put a little motivation behind her sons and she just might be having a little fun watching them handle her ultimatum.

Boots and the Rogue is part of the Ugly Stick Saloon series, however I think you would be able to read it as a stand alone just fine. I don't think you would feel like you are missing any information or behind the scenes details at all. Ms. Jackson does a great job of creating a fun series but also making each book stand alone in case you discover a book in the middle of the series.

Speaking of Ms. Jackson's talent. This lady is one of my favorite authors for a reason. She does an great job writing a fun story with alot of great characters that keep me entertained and flipping pages.

Overall I really enjoyed this visit to Ugly Stick Saloon and I can't wait to return again soon. There is one brother left that needs his story told and I can't wait to see how it goes. I will impatiently be waiting Myla Jackson's next release in this series.

I was given the opportunity to read this great book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Boots and the Rogue.

Boots and Wishes by Myla Jackson ~ Ugly Stick Saloon #8 ~ Review

This is the first chance I have had to read a book from the Ugly Stick Saloon series and let me tell you I have been missing out!!! Of course I have found that I have quite a fondness for Myla Jackson's stories so it does not surprise me one bit that I loved this story.

I laughed, cried, sat on the edge of my seat a few times, and my kindle got plenty warm a time or two. Overall, this book has all the great things I ask for in a book.

I could instantly feel the love and connection between Audrey and Jackson. I could just feel how much these two love each other and all their friends and family. Audrey is really good at taking in people that are in need of love and help. She has a huge heart and wants to help everyone. However, the one thing she wants herself just isn't happening. The only thing Audrey and Jackson want for Christmas this year is a little baby of their own. However they just don't seem to get pregnant no matter what they try.

Just when they make up their mind to just let things happen a new little one enters their life. Mia and her mother are in need of help, love, and a strong support system. That is just what they find at the Ugly Stick Saloon.

This book is number eight in the Ugly Stick Saloon series, however you will have no problem reading it as  stand alone. I have not read the rest of the series yet and I had no trouble at all. In fact I thoroughly enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end. There is plenty of steamy scenes that just might lead to making that baby they want to badly. Also there is a lot of suspense and drama. I don't want to tell you too much about that part. I'll leave it as a surprise for you when you are reading.

I love the friendship and love you can feel with everyone associated with the Ugly Stick Saloon. You can tell this is just one large extended family that really cares for each other.

This book is set at Christmas time. Some of you know how much I adore Christmas books so I was thrilled to find a Christmas story by one of my favorite authors. I just can't get my hands on enough Christmas books this time of year.

Once again Myla Jackson has written another fabulous story that I could not put down. I read this in one setting. I couldn't help myself. I had to know what was going to happen next.

I was given the opportunity to read Boots and Wishes so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on this great book.

Mack's Witness by Myla Jackson ~ Hearts & Heroes #2 ~ Review

Mack's Witness is the second book in the Hearts and Heroes series. I am very lucky to say I have read both books so far. Myla Jackson has once again written a very fast paced, drama filled, steamy story that kept me on the edge of my set.

Mack and Deirdre are both part of a wedding party and meet at the airport. Mack has an instant attraction to Deirdre. Deirdre thinks that Mack is pretty hot as well. These two bicker a lot of first which leads to some humorous scenes and then some fireworks. Oh my, when things heat up, they get hot really fast. So be sure to grab that cold drink.

This book is set at the wedding of Wyatt and Fiona. Wyatt and Fiona's story was told in Wyatt's War. So it was great to see their wedding take place. The other fun thing about a wedding setting is that of course family is involved. I always enjoy books that include the family. It makes for some interesting background on the characters.

Deirdre sees something that she sure did not mean to and the bad guys sure wish she wouldn't have. I love how Mack takes charge to keep her safe. It was a lot of fun watching Mack and Deirdre get to know each other while he's keeping her safe. There is plenty of drama and a few worrisome moments. I am one of those readers that becomes attached to the new friends I am reading about so I worry when things go wrong.

Over all this another awesome story to add to this great series. I know I will certainly be looking forward to the next book in this series. I'm sure it too will keep me completely captivated and on the edge of my seat just as this one did.

This is part of a series but you won't have any trouble read it as stand alone if you want to pick it up first. If you enjoy steamy drama filled stories you will enjoy Wyatt's War as well.

I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Mack's Witness

Wyatt's War by Myla Jackson ~ Hearts & Heroes #1 ~ Review

Wyatt's War is full of steam, fireworks of a few varieties, drama, and some humor. This is the first book in Myla Jackson's Hearts & Heroes series and I will be looking forward to reading the next release.

Wyatt sets out on a mission that he thinks is just going to be quite simple and really just a pain in his rear end when he'd liked to get back into active duty. He is assigned to help with security to the International Trade Convention. The first thing he encounters is one hot tempered, beautiful lady that has some how been assigned to the same room as him. This leads to a few temper flare at first and then to some might fine sparks and fireworks between Wyatt and Fiona Allen.

Fiona Allen just wants this convention to go off with out any problems. This is her first really big event and she wants it to be perfect. She thinks she has everything under control until she finds out home land security has sent an agent to assist with security. Then to top that off she's stuck sharing a room with the very hot Wyatt.

Wyatt and Fiona don't hitch at first but once these two start to get to know each other better and give in to some of that sexual tension building up around them, they work well together.

There is plenty of drama in this book that kept me hanging to the edge of my seat wondering what in the world could happen next. I also wondered how Wyatt was going to be able to solve the problem and keep everyone safe.

I was so surprised when I found out who the cause of the trouble was. I think my chin may have hit the floor, you could have knocked me over with a feather. No, I won't tell you who it is, but I will tell you that you should go grab your own copy so that you can read this great book.

I can't wait to see what Myla Jackson has in store for us for book number two in this series, I will be anxiously awaiting it's release.

I received the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Wyatt's War.
