Dead Man Walker by Duffy Brown ~ Consignment Shop Mystery #4 ~ Review

Duffy Brown sure does know how to write a an awesome mystery with a whole lot of humor. Dead Man Walker is part of the Consignment Shop mystery series. I love this series and all the characters. It's always fun to visit Prissy Fox to catch up on the mischief Reagan has been into, maybe give BW  a pat on the head, and  find out the latest gossip.

This fine mystery starts out when Mercedes finds one of her clients dead in his bath tub. She calls her friend and lawyer Walker Boone just in case she is in need of legal council. This would have all been just fine if the handsome Walker Boone didn't have a connection to the dead guy.

Of course Reagan Summerside and Aunt Kiki jump in to try to save the day. I love these two characters. Reagan has a way of getting herself into so much trouble and then finding the most hilarious ways to get out of it. She and her pleather purse get out of some sticky situations that tend to leave me breathless and followed by a case of the giggles. Aunt Kiki is usually around for the action. Everyone should have an Aunt Kiki in their life. She is just adorable and so much FUN!

Walker soon finds himself in trouble with the law as their main suspect. Reagan is on the case though and finds there are a whole lot of people that might have wanted this fellow dead. He wasn't the most loved man in town and there are a few people that are happy to hear he's gone.

Things get pretty wild near the end of the story  and Duffy Brown leaves us with on major cliff hanger. I suggest picking up a copy of Demise in Denim when you purchase Dead Man Walker. It will save you some time wondering what is going to happen next! I however read Dead Man Walker a few months ago before Demise in Denim was out.

I really enjoyed Dead Man Walker just as I have all the books in this series. I love the quirky characters that have so much charisma and southern charm.

If you love a great mystery with plenty of humor, suspense, and likable characters then you should check out the Consignment Shop Mysteries. I think you will enjoy them. I know I have. Each book works just fine as a stand alone if you have not had a chance to read the previous books in the series.

I was given the opportunity to read Dead Man Walker so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on this great book.

Demise in Denim by Duffy Brown ~ Consignment Shop Mystery #5 ~ Review

Thankfully Demise in Denim picks us right up where Dead Man Walker left us hanging. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I had to find out what was going to happen in Walker Boone.

Walker is wanted by the police and is on the run. He find some really interesting ways of passing messages to Reagan. Of course as usual, Reagan doesn't always stay away from the places and people Walker says she should.

I loved Reagan having a good time driving around in Walker Boone's '57 Chevy. As usual she gets herself in a little trouble. OK. A Whole lot of trouble with the car.

Reagan has a few problems of her own and she has to find out how to clear Walker Boone's name. She has a lot to take care of. She also finds herself in a lot of sticky situations that leads to some drama and suspense. It's a really good thing she thinks fast on her feet or bad things could happen to this girl. I adore Reagan, she has such a fun personality and is a lot of fun to read about.

Reagan and Walker both have some great friends who are not afraid to get in a little mischief to help out. I adored Mercedes. I have a feeling this woman would be fun to hang out with. She has some really interesting jobs and ends up in some really interesting situations.

I don't want to tell you too much about the story. I don't want to spoil it for you. I will tell you that I really enjoyed the story line. I was surprised by the actual killer. I didn't really see that one coming at all. Ms. Brown did a great job of not revealing too much information until the end.

Overall this book contains plenty of drama, suspense, a murder, a whole lot of suspects, humor, and even a little romance. What more could I ask for in a book? Not much! Duffy Brown does a fabulous job of fulfilling my cozy mystery cravings.

It would be helpful to have read Dead Man Walker before reading Demise in Denim. I think you could read  Demise in Denim as a stand alone if you haven't read Dead Man Walker. I did have the chance to read both and I loved them both.

I have to say I hope there is more to this series. I want to know what happened to the two gentleman. I would love another visit with Reagan, Walker, Aunt Kiki, BW, and the whole gang. Duffy Brown has done an excellent job of creating the characters in this series. They feel like old friends by now and I will be anxious to see what happens next in their lives.

I was given the opportunity to read Demise in Denim so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on this awesome cozy mystery.

Spinning in Her Grave by Molly MacRae ~ A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery #3 ~ Review ~

I have had the pleasure of reading all three books so far in the A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery Series. Spinning in Her Grave is the latest release by Molly MacRae in this fun mystery series. Each time I visit Blue Plum I always enjoy catching up with old friends from the Weaver's Cat. These ladies are not only very talented at their projects but they sure do have a good time solving the mysteries of town.

In Spinning in Her Grave the town is having a festival with a lot of things going on. Everything is going well until Reva Louise ends up dead. I have to say from this woman's attitude I don't think there was a shortage in people who were celebrating the fact that she is gone. However there is only one person who is evil enough to have pulled off the crime and to try to the pull the wonderful shop of the Weaver's Cat into their evil plot. Kath and her friends set out to find out just who wanted Reva Louise out of the picture. They have no shortage of suspects and it's a lot of fun watching them unravel the mystery.

Molly MacRae is a wonderfully talented author who not only write one awesome mystery but can also keep me laughing while I'm wondering WHO DID IT?!? I have been a fan of Molly's since I had a chance to read Last Wool and Testament (the first book in this series).

I know I will anxiously be awaiting to the release to see what Kath and the TGIF gang are up to next. I'm sure they will have no trouble finding some mischief and sticky situation to get themselves into.  I will also be anxious to see what Geneva remembers about her past and what trouble she can get Kath into with everyone thinking she is talking to herself.

If you enjoy a great mystery with some humor I think you will enjoy this book. I have read the whole series but I have no doubt you could pick up Spinning in her Grave and read it as a stand alone book. However if you want to start at the beginning Last Wool and Testament and Dyeing Wishes are both awesome books as well.

I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Spinning in her Grave

Remember you may click on the title of each book for a link to take you to Amazon to grab your own copy.
