EXCERPT:

Miles away that same night, Nicholas’ sleek steel gray BMW 745il quietly purred as he slowly made his way onto Embarcadero West at Jack London Square in Oakland, California.

He parked his car in the first open lot he found. The lot was nearly three blocks past the Heinold’s First and Last Chance Saloon.  He got out of his car and quickly zipped his jacket as a chilled wind blew softly off of the harbor.

Heinold’s looked inviting. He quickly walked past. When he wasn’t meeting Quinn he often got a drink at Heinold’s.

He moved quickly, pulling his collar tighter and bracing himself against the cold. The place that he was going to was a place he’d been many times. He smiled warmly remembering. He and Quinn had first gotten in with fake ID’s they made. This was their secret place, their bar. The one place they kept secret from Kienan.  As far as dives go, it was where the name originated. But still it was a cool mellow place and the crowd was likeable. The drinks were cheap and you never had to wait.  Plus it helped that Quinn got to be real good friends with Sam, the owner, many years ago.

“Hey mister can you spare some change?” A bum called to him, quickly moving into his path.

Nicholas tried to walk around the man. But he quickly implanted himself in Nicholas’ path.

by Emelle Gamble

Emelle will be awarding $25 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner during the tour. Please use the RaffleCopter below to enter. Remember you may increase your chances of winning by visiting the other tour stops. You may find those locations here
~*~*~*~*~*~
Interview:

Crystal: I'm so excited to have you here today Emelle. I so enjoy when you stop by for a visit. Welcome back! Would you please tell us a little bit about you?

Emelle: I am writer, mom, wife, new grandma for the first time in June, second grandbaby due any day! I’m a California girl transplanted twenty years ago to the East coast. I love books, readers, cats, Sees candy, George Clooney movies, the beach, and a good red wine.

Crystal: What is next for you? Can you tell us a little bit about your next release?

Emelle: I have two books done which I am shopping around, one a romantic suspense with heavy women’s fiction issues called KISS ME TWICE. It is about the heroine’s first love coming back unexpectedly into her life at the same time her dearest relative, her mom, is fighting the losing battle with Alzheimer’s. It’s about love and memory, family and trust, and a bad guy who has a shocking secret.

The second book I’ll say little about, except I love it and it is very, very weird. It is set in Los Angeles in 1951 and stars a blonde, an ex-GI turned journalist, and an antagonist who just might be a….sorry, can’t say. HA!

Crystal: Do you have a favorite scene from Stranger Than Fiction that you would like to share with us?

Emelle: I love the scene with Tony Nichols and the shower curtain. No, no nudity. But plenty of suspense!

Crystal: How do you celebrate release day?

Emelle: Wine. Chocolate. Pats on the back from anyone who will give me one. And smiles. It’s a little like having a baby…once the pain is over, its all good.

Crystal: What is your favorite decadent treat that you like to indulge in?

Emelle: HGTV. Jonathan and Drew. Hilary and David. The Rehab Addict. Sometimes I marvel that I ever get any writing done.

Crystal: What is the strangest fun fact you have ever found when researching for a book?

Emelle: That movie icon Cary Grant was married five times. When I was researching DATING CARY GRANT, I was astounded to find that someone I regarded as “Mr. Perfect” had so much turmoil in his personal life. Things that make you go hummmmmm.

Crystal: If you won a dream vacation where would you go?

Emelle: London. Darling daughter lives there and I love everything about it. The age, the people, the history. But most of all, that girl.

Crystal: Thank you for visiting with us today. Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

Emelle: Stranger Than Fiction is the first book I sold back in the 1990s when I was under contract with Harlequin Intrigue.

They are set in that time period, with complicated plots, a great romantic attraction but little sex. These books have heroines who are coming into their own as the smart, resourceful driving forces of the action. Plus, there was no internet, cellphones and cable TV. Therefore, way more romance! HA!

I hope you enjoy Claire and Tony. For the term of my book tour with Goddess Fish, I am making my Romantic Suspense re-issues available for only 99 cents each at all major online retailers! Go get you one! And please let me know what you think.

EXCERPT:

Tony had not shown up to get her at the inn, nor had he called with a message. She had checked the inn not more than a half hour ago. Was his lack of punctuality further proof of his criminal makeup, she wondered?

Her determination not to be manipulated propelled her up the stairway to the second floor. The lighted hallway was empty of any security guards, secretaries or students to direct her. Turning away from the stairs, Claire walked toward a closed office with English Department stenciled on the frosted glass and knocked.

There was no answer. A lectern stood next to the door, and .the black notebook on it listed the instructor’s office hours. Turning hastily to the Ns, Claire found the entry.

Nichols, A.A. (Tony), Assoc Prof, Creative Writing #319.

The space for appointments was crossed through with a large black X.

She ought to just go see Sarah Winesong, Claire thought as she hurried down the hall. If Mr. Harrison and Tillie had not babied the author all these years, Cauldron Press might not have been in this predicament. And she would not be chasing around after Tony Nichols.

Claire took the stairs up to the third floor, pausing out of breath on the landing. A black arrow with the numbers 311-321 led her to the left.

That hall was dark, the only illumination coming from the gray sky visible through a single window at the far end of the corridor. All the offices appeared locked and unoccupied.

There was no lettering on the frosted glass of room 319 other than its number, and the small metal nameplate holder above it was empty. Claire’s stomach churned. She rapped loudly and waited.

Nothing. “Tony? Are you in there? It’s Claire.”

Her inquiry was met with silence. Rubbing one hand with the other, Claire looked around. Though everything was silent, she had the feeling that someone was nearby. Gingerly she put her hand on the brass doorknob and turned it. It opened easily, into almost complete darkness.

“Tony?”

The instant she spoke his name, the shrill cry of the telephone rang out like a startled sentry’s gun. Clutching her chest, Claire gasped and stepped back.

With a sigh of exasperation, she decided to answer it and groped for the light switch. As she did so, she noticed the room was dense with the odor of Tony’s tobacco. Inhaling, she tried to ignore the vivid pictures that rose to mind. She found the switch and flicked it and the room lit up.

The first thing Claire saw was the blood pooled on the dingy carpet just inside the office door.

She froze. Dully she realized the phone had stopped ringing. Then her ears picked up a new sound. In the hallway she had just vacated, she heard the creaking of a door hinge followed by footsteps.

Footsteps that were coming closer.

Frantic, Claire snapped off the light and moved deeper into the small office. Her hands groped in the dark for a weapon. Heavy, leather bound books were everywhere. Gripping the smooth surface of a large, anonymous text, Claire raised it above her head and waited.

A bulky silhouette filled the doorway as the hallway light tumbled into the room. Though Claire had made no sound, it was clear she had been spotted. Without a word, the figure lunged across the small office at her. She brought the book down squarely on the intruder’s face and the corner of it stabbed into his cheek.

She was tackled and thrown against the edge of the desk while her attacker howled a curse at her blow. Claire struck him repeatedly with the book.

As they both crashed to the floor, Claire beat him with every bit of adrenaline pumping into her body. Then, quite suddenly, she knew who it was cursing her in the dark. She recognized the strong hands that hugged her waist, the wavy hair brushing against the tender skin on her arm.

Her body identified her captor even when her terrified mind had not. “Let go of me, Tony. You’re hurting my arms.”

He was straddling her hips. She could now clearly see his eyes in the dim light from the hall.

“Claire, what are you trying to do, kill me?”

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Emelle Gamble became a writer at an early age. At six years old, she was bursting with the requisite childhood stories of introspection, and this itch to tell tales evolved into bad teen poetry and tortured short works that, thankfully, never saw the light of day, or an editor’s red pen.

She took her first stab at writing a novel in an adult education class in Mobile, Alabama when her kids were in bed for the night. As ‘M.L. Gamble,’ she published several romantic suspense novels with Harlequin Intrigue. She now publishes novels of Ordinary Women in Extraordinary Situations with SoulMate Publishing and Posh Publishing …works ranging from women’s fiction to thrillers and romantic suspense.

Always intrigued by the words ‘what if’, Gamble’s books feature an ordinary woman confronted with an extraordinary situation. Emelle celebrates the adventurous spirit of readers, and hopes each will enjoy the exciting and surprising journeys her characters take.

Emelle lives in suburban Washington D.C. with her hero of thirty years, Philip, and two orange cats, Lucy and Bella. Like all good villains, the cats claim to have their reasons for misbehaving. Her children are happily launched on their own and are both contributing great things to society, their mother’s fondest wish.

EXCERPT:

“So...was he...any good?”

Lexie giggled again. “Well, I don’t really have anyone to compare him to, obviously. But he tried really hard to make sure that I enjoyed it, too.” She leaned forward and confided, “He said he’d read a book about how to make it good for a woman.” She leaned back and glanced around quickly to make sure no one had heard. Assured, she continued, “He had to use his hand to, uh...help me finish, but other than that, he was good.”

Rowan nodded. Her research told her that a considerate partner was important. “So...it didn’t hurt or anything?” she asked carefully.

Lexie grimaced, her fingers fiddling with the guitar pick that dangled from her key chain. “A little at first,” she admitted, then shrugged. “But not for very long, and it wasn’t, like, unbearable or anything.”

Rowan filed that away with the rest of her obsessive research on the matter and smiled freely again. “Well, you’re obviously happy, so I am very happy for you.”

Her friend squealed again and launched herself at Rowan, squeezing her tight in a joyful hug. She listened with half an ear to Lexie babble on about her perfect boyfriend before racing off to her next class, blissfully unaware that her quick “bye” to Lexie over her shoulder would be the last one.

Navy SEAL Newlywed by Elle James ~ Covert Cowboys, Inc. #6 ~ Review

I could not wait to get my hands on Navy SEAL Newlywed! Navy SEAL Justice left us knowing the Cord "Rip" Schafer was safe but left us wondering who was behind the corruption. Well Navy SEAL Newlywed was everything I knew it would be. This book is full of suspense, a steamy hot romance, a lot of drama, and the answers to a lot of questions.

Cord went through the mill when he was kidnapped and then rescued in Navy SEAL Justice. He wants to know just who was behind is misery and he wants to make sure he's safe to rejoin his team. He goes undercover working for Cover Cowboys, INC with a new partner. He thinks he's getting a cowboy partner when he unexpectedly gets a pretty butt kicking, ask questions later cowgirl.

The chemistry between Cord and Tracie Kosart is amazing from the beginning. Their cover is that they are newlyweds on their honeymoon. With their instant attraction and the sparks flying off these two, they have have no problem with that cover story. They end up working a lot better together than either thought they would. They find themselves in some really dangerous situation that could turn deadly quick. I have to admit the Elle James had me hanging on to the edge of my seat and a little breathless though a lot of this story. I found an instant connection to both Cord and Tracie.

I love when teams pull together and work to get one of their own back. It amazing how they will do anything and everything in their power to get their team member back. When one is in danger most of the Covert Cowboys team shows up to help get the situation back under control.

I have only had the chance to read a couple of the books in the Covert Cowboys, INC series but they have been awesome. If you haven't had a chance to read any of them yet, no fear they seem to stand alone just fine. I think you will appreciate Cord's determination in this one if you have read Navy SEAL Justice first but it's not required. You won't feel like you are missing out on any great details.

If you enjoy an awesome romantic suspense with wonderful characters then you really should check out Elle James' romantic suspense stories. I love this talented lady's work and I can't wait to see what she might come up with next. I have read her work in different genres and they are all awesome. She is just plain talented and certainly ranks right up there as one of my very favorite authors.

I received a copy of Navy SEAL Newlywed so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on this great book.

Navy SEAL Justice by Elle James ~ Covert Cowboys, Inc. #5 ~ Review

When I pick up a book by Elle James I know I'm in for an adventure. Navy SEAL Justice is an awesome story that held me captivated from page one and left me wanting to read the next book in the series as soon as possible!

Melissa Bradley takes a few days off from the FBI to do a favor for her childhood friend. She knows there  is something going on so she takes plenty of precautions when she picks up the package she is suppose to deliver to her friend Cord later. Melissa is a tough chick that will do anything to help her friend. She knows how to hide in plain sight, how to kick butt when necessary, and when she should accept a little help when in need.

James Monahan's first assignment for his new job is to get to his friend and offer assistance. This guy can also kick butt and ask questions later. He is determined, courageous, and is fiercely protective of his friends.

When Melissa and James find out their mutual friend has went missing they decide to work together. They know something is wrong and they have to figure out what might be going on.

Their mission is full of danger, plenty of drama, a whole lot of suspense, and some hot attraction to each other. They work really well together even when times get really tough and there is literal danger around every corner. Just about the time I would think these two might be safe they were once again in another dangerous situation. I found myself holding my breath a lot during Navy Seal Justice.

This is part of the Cover Cowboys, INC series and is the first in the series I have read. I didn't feel like I was missing any essential information. I had no problem at all becoming fully engrossed in this book quickly. I think you could easily pick this book up and read it as a stand alone if you haven't had a chance to read the other books in the series yet. If you are an Elle James fan, like I am, I think you will enjoy this story as much as I did. It is classic Elle James with plenty of drama, action, suspense, and hot romance. The characters are well written and easy to become attached to quickly.

I can not wait to read Navy SEAL Newlywed to see what happens next in this series.

I was given the opportunity to read this great book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Navy SEAL Justice.

Cuffs by Georgie Tyler ~ Cover Reveal

Cuffs
by: Georgie Tyler

It only takes one wrong turn to change your life forever.

Witnessing a murder was not on Lacey Maples’s agenda for the evening. Neither was being spotted, caught and cuffed to a cement mixer. So when the perpetrator tries to convince her he’s protecting her, she’s far from convinced. Especially when she sees the twinkle in his eye.

For Alex Petrov, Lacey is a major glitch in an otherwise perfect plan. While his motives are pure, he can’t allow Lacey to interfere before the drug deal goes down in two days’ time, least of all by getting herself killed.

If Alex could reveal his plans to her, he would, but it would only make her position more dangerous. And he’s rapidly discovering he would do almost anything to
protect her.

The operation is at stake. That’s all that matters. Lives hang by a thread. And sometimes, when lives hang in the balance, people do the craziest things.

Romance/erotica, Romantic suspense

46k /
Momentum Publishing Pan MacMillan

About the Author:
Romance is what I read. Romance is what I write.   Romance is what I love. A mother of three busy children and an English teacher wasn’t enough of a workload for me, a suburban housewife from Sydney, Australia. I wanted more. I wanted to be an author. For many years I thought it was pie in the sky dreaming until one day I sat my butt down and began to write. Really write.
It’s been a steep learning curve at times but with the support of my loving husband and children, family and friends along with the readers who have joined me on this
journey, I’m having way too much fun to ever stop!

Forced Disappearance by Dana Marton ~ Review ~

Are you looking for a suspense filled book with a twist at every turn? Oh my do I have a title for you to look for then. Forced Disappearance by Dana Marton is one of those books that I had to hang on to my seat tight from page one all the way to the end. Dana Marton has written a book full of drama, intrigue, mystery, romance, and twists that kept me turning pages quickly.

Miranda Soto has been through so many tragedies in her life already. When she hears the name of the person she is to retrieve for her first mission she is surprised. Her first retrieval is an old friend and she is determined to save him.  If I was in a dangerous situation I would want Miranda in my corner. She is resourceful, can kick butt with trained moves, and is just a little sassy with a strong sense of survival. I really liked Miranda and found myself instantly connected with this strong lady. She is creative and has a way of finding out things in a roundabout way.

Glenn Danning is use to solving problems in his business suit in an office, not running for his life through the rain forest. However Glenn is a quick on his feet kind of guy that comes up with a few interesting ideas of his own. Glenn has been through so much and has been hurt so badly. I admired Glenn for being so adaptable to this situation he finds himself in. This poor guy has been through a horrible experience and just wants to get home.

Glenn and Miranda work well together and their attraction from years earlier is still very strong. They share a bond and know each other so well even after all the time that has passed. I really enjoyed watching these two work together and get to know each other again. When they finally gave in to temptation they certainly did warm my Kindle up quickly. I found myself cheering these two on though all the problems they encounter. Just when things start to work out another problem presents itself or another dangerous situation is just around the corner.

I really enjoy everything that Dana Marton writes. She does a fabulous job of writing a dramatic romance that keeps me turning the pages. I am always very excited when I hear she has a new release. I have been very lucky to read two of her new releases this month. If you are a Dana Marton fan already then grab this book quickly. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did. If you haven't had the chance to read her work yet but enjoy a quick paced, suspense filled, dramatic romance story then try this one.

I was given the opportunity to read this great book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Forced Disappearance

Review:

I just finished yet another fabulous story by Dana Marton. Deathwish is packed with drama, suspense, and romance. So many of my favorite things combined in one book. Dana Marton is one of my favorite romantic suspense writers and she does a fabulous job of keeping me on the edge of my seat and in complete suspense.

Gabriella Maria Flores has had a lot happen in her life and career. I really admired her strength and her kick butt attitude. I felt an instant connection to Gabi and I really enjoyed getting a chance to know her.

Gabi ends up with a horrible case as her first big case in Broslin. Her main suspect is her boss's brother Hunter Bing. She has her hands full to solve this case and make sure the right person pays for the crime.

Hunter Bing is excited to return home to his family and friends. However he gets a really big surprise that isn't a pleasant one. I don't want to tell you what it is and spoil the story for you. I will tell you there is plenty of mystery, twists and turns, and suspense in this storyline that I could not put Deathwish down.

When Gabi and Hunter first meet there is instant sparks. As they work together and get to know each other better the sparks turn into flames. They have many things they have to get through in order to make their relationship work.

There are a few twist and turns in this story that I certainly did not see coming. Dana Marton created an intriguing storyline with interesting characters that are a lot of fun to read about.

This is another awesome addition to the Broslin Creek series. I have really enjoyed each of the books I have read in this series. They are all great romantic suspense stories that kept me flipping pages to find out what in the world was going to happen next.

I am currently reading Dana Marton's next release so stay tuned for another review soon. I can tell already that it is going to be an awesome story.

I received the opportunity to read this great book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Deathwish
