An Accidental Affair by Heather Boyd on SALE for LIMITED TIME ~The Distinguished Rogues ~ ONLY $.99

An Accidental Affair
The Distinguished Rogues Book 4
By Heather Boyd

BLURB:

London’s ballrooms and bedrooms thrive on scandal and decadent pleasure and the summer of 1814 will be no exception for the Distinguished Rogues in Heather Boyd’s latest Regency romance.

Widowed beauty, Arabella Lawson, Lady Farnsworth, knows the value of independence after being trapped in a marriage that left her unfulfilled. Although she longs for a lover at last, she’s expected to chaperone her flirtatious niece during her first season. However, given the way the girl keeps disappearing every chance she gets, there is little hope of a good or speedy result. While searching for her charge yet again, she blunders into one of Lord Rothwell’s scandalous assignations. This time it’s Arabella’s turn to be on the receiving end of his hungry kisses, and she’s far from prepared to make the most of the opportunity.

Gossip may paint Merrick Bishop, the Earl of Rothwell, as a notorious scoundrel when it comes to women, but this season his intentions are honorable. Duty bound to marry, he’s determined to discreetly court an open-minded bride and prove the gossipmongers wrong by being on his very best behavior… until in his frustration, he mistakenly kisses the wrong lady and discovers that everything about the encounter feels so very right. Merrick never once believed he had a chance with shy Arabella, and when the unthinkable happens, she turns to him not for an affair or hopes of marriage but for his friendship and protection from her own family.

Can a rogue with a reputation for breaking hearts convince a widow who only hopes for an affair that their feelings are not only the stirrings of desire but the beginnings of the deepest and truest love?

A sizzling regency romance novel

Review:

As some of you know, Heather Boyd has become one of my very favorite authors. When I find out she has a new book to read I get so excited, I'm like a kid with a brand new toy. When I found out An Accidental Affair was ready to be released I was beyond ecstatic! When I received this book I was just going to read a few pages. However I became so caught up in the story that I ended up reading the whole thing.

This story is about Lady Arabella that I met in Hunting the Hero. I just knew that Bella had an interesting story to tell and I am SO glad that Heather Boyd told her story.

There is just something about Bella that I adored right away. She has been through so much in life already. She had a loveless marriage that left her with a lot of questions about a normal married life. She is expected to assist with her niece's first season while under the watchful eye of her brother-in-law. In my opinion her brother-in-law is a jerk! I didn't like his attitude towards his own daughter or towards Arabella at all.

Merrick Bishop, the Earl of Rothwell is known for his playboy scandalous lifestyle. Now he is ready to settle down, he just has to find a wife that he wants to marry. When he meets Arabella and gets an unexpected chance to spend time with her, he suddenly finds himself drawn to her. Arabella is a tad bit shy and he isn't sure that he stands a chance with this charming lady at all.

One of the things I really admired about Merrick is that he takes responsibility for his family. He is loyal to them and they are very loyal to him. I don't want to give to much away here but parts of this story just melted my heart.

I really don't want to tell you too much, I don't want to spoil this wonderful story for you. I will tell you there is a LOT of drama that kept me turning the pages of this book quickly. Of course I have found when it's a book by Ms.Boyd I don't seem to have the ability to set it down anyway. Ms. Boyd has a wonderful way of writing an intriguing story that contains a nice amount of drama, mystery and of course some nice steamy scenes as well.

I really enjoyed reading Arabella's story and watching her relationship with Merrick grow. I also enjoyed that a few of the characters from the Wild Randall's series made an appearance in this book. I was excited to catch up with some old friends.

If you are a historical romance fan and have not had a chance to read Heather Boyd's work yet, give this book a try. I really do think you will enjoy it. I know it has certainly hit the list of one of my favorite books so far this year. I have to admit that I was very excited to read Arabella's story and An Accidental Affair surpassed even my expectations. If you are already a fan of Heather Boyd's, like me, then HURRY, click the link and grab your copy of this book. I have no doubt you will not be disappointed.

I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts on An Accidental Affair with you.

Excerpt:
Sweat caked my body. I shook even as I held my cell between my ear and shoulder as I waited for Adam.
He remained on the line the entire time he drove, talking to me, keeping me sane. I didn’t tell him about Eric. It would be better to tell him to his face and hope he didn’t freak out. The sounds of tires rolling over crushed gravel met my ears. A few moments later, his tall, beautiful dark-caramel body came into
view, and I crawled out of my cubby hole. Adam rushed over to me and pulled me in his arms. He smelled so clean, as if he had just taken a shower. I didn’t even want to know how I smelled.
“Are you okay?” he asked, cupping my face.
I shook my head and burst in tears. He held me tight while I cried.

***

We sat in the back of his car near the old entrance where a brick shed stored sports equipment. We were all alone, surrounded by long grass, weeds, and broken concrete that hadn’t been paved in years since the main parking lot was used in the front. The car windows were down, letting a hot breeze in. Adam wanted to take me home, or to his house, but I told him no. I wasn’t sure what I would face there. So, we suffered from the heat, or rather I did. Adam didn’t seem to mind as he held me in his arms and whispered in my ear.
I wiped my swollen eyes, staring down at my lap. My wrists and arms were covered in red from my sunburn, including a rainbow of new colors.
Someone hurt you. Tell me who did this to you.” He rubbed the pad of his finger over the inside of my wrist. His thumb grazed the side of my hand, sending a tingle up my arm. I wanted to feel the same on my
whole body, to erase the aftermath of Eric’s abuse.
“Eric and I had a disagreement about something.”
“Evelynn,” Adam murmured. “What did he do to you?”
He laid his palm on mine. The breeze whipped through the car. I closed my eyes, wishing I was lying on my bed in the cool darkness even with the annoying streetlamp shining through my bedroom window.
“He didn’t rape me if you’re wondering. I stopped him before he could. He found out about me and you, and he got very angry. He said awful things about you, and I flipped out on him. He-he…threw me on his kitchen table and almost—” I rubbed my face on his shoulder and inhaled his clean scent.
“You were at his house?”
I nodded. “I visited Tink’s earlier in the day to meet some friends. He saw me coming out from there, but I think he followed me. I was so stupid to think we could talk. He was being nice for a change. I went
over to his house to have lunch, and he became mean.” I dropped my head in my hands and groaned. “I messed up big time, and I don’t know what to do.”
Adam rubbed his cheek over mine. “You can trust me. Tell me what’s going on.”
The moment of truth had arrived. I couldn’t lie anymore. “My cousin Jenn and her boyfriend were arrested yesterday on possession of drugs and selling them. They’re involved in a network of drug trafficking in the area where they sell not just to high schools but to the middle school and maybe younger. The reason I’ve been on and off with Eric is because he’s blackmailing me. He caught me dealing a few months ago in the
parking lot of the high school. Unless I become his girlfriend, he’ll tell his father about me.” I shook my head. “I-I’m so dead.”
Adam stared out the window, pulling at his bottom lip.
I scraped the side of my thumb nail where the skin was rough from all the biting and picking I’d done.
“It’s okay if you want to throw me out of your car and never speak to me again.”
He sighed, and I went to open my door. He drew me into his embrace. His mouth brushed the side of my neck, and he cursed, holding me until I turned my head and looked at him full in the face. Our noses almost
touched. I pressed my palm on his head, enjoying his short curls and how they felt through my fingers as I tugged on them.
“No more lies between us. Okay?” He lifted his hand to my head, mimicking my touch.
“I promise you, no more lies. I’m all tapped out with my lies. I want to be more like you.”
“Like me?’ he asked, his breath a whisper on my mouth, a tangy scent I wanted to inhale.
“Yes. You’re everything I’m not. Honest, good, and sweet. You make me want to be a better person.”
“I think you’re sweet, but just misunderstood,” he replied.
“Misunderstood, huh? I’d rather just be sweet.” I moved closer, wrapping my leg around his waist until I almost sat on his lap.
He gasped and his mouth brushed mine. “Not quite good, but we’re working on it.”
That made me smile. He then gave me one in return and kissed me as I’d been dying for him to. He nipped my lips gently, prodding slowly, erasing Eric’s harsh kiss until I ended up panting, wanting even more
of his kisses…his touch all over me.
“Hold me, please. I need you,” I whispered, sliding my hands beneath his shirt to feel his stomach and the muscles there that jumped under my circling fingers.
“I have you.” He sighed. “But we shouldn’t. You’ve been—”
“Hush.” I kissed him with a deep intensity and demanding hunger. “Don’t let me go. I feel clean when I’m with you.”
“I won’t let you go. Ever.” He pulled me against him, just like I wanted.
Straddling his hips, I locked my thighs around his until he moaned. His hands skated up my legs and higher until I gasped, dizzy and punchy as a tide of emotion brought happy tears to my eyes.

Generational Curse by Tracy Reed ~ Giveaway ~ Interview

Generational Curse
by Tracy Reed

Tracy will be awarding a $10 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Interview:
Crystal: Today I am excited to have Tracey Reed stop by. Welcome Tracey! I'm so happy to have you here today. Would you share a little bit about yourself with us today?

Tracey: I’m a single Christian Woman who loves God, Fashion and Cute Guys. I live in Southern California, but consider myself a partial New Yorker because of the two and half years I lived there. When I’m not writing, I’m busy with my online lingerie store The Pink Duchess [www.thepinkduchess.com].

Crystal:  Do you have a favorite scene you would like to share with us?

Tracey: My favorite scene is…let me see how I can answer that without giving away too much.  I have a couple of favorite scenes.  First, “Naked Night.”  I’ve had a lot of people ask about that one.  Second, is the kiss in Chapter 34.  Third is a tie between Chapters 38 and 57.  That’s all I’m saying.

Crystal: Where did you come up with the idea for GENERATIONAL CURSE?

Tracey: How did I come up with the idea for GENERATIONAL CURSE…I wanted to tell the wealthy powerful man who seduces the naive virgin story, but in reverse.  I wanted to know what would happen if a hot virile man became celibate and in love with God, would he be able to resist the hot, sexy woman who tried every trick in the book to seduce him.

Crystal: What are you currently working on?

Tracey: I just finished my first novella, “The Good Girl,” due out June.  I’m also putting the finish on my next full length novel, “The Alex Chronicles: What My Friends Don’t Know,” for Summer.  It’s the first in The Alex Chronicles Series.

Crystal: Do you have any special routine that you follow when you are writing?

Tracey: I don’t have a special writing routine.  I do however, love to write when it’s quiet.  If I’m home alone, I can easily start writing around five in the evening and keep going until  three or four the following morning.

Crystal: Did you have to do a lot of research for this book or any other? If so do you have a fascinating fact that you have learned you would like to share with us?

Tracey: Research isn’t really an issue for me when I write.  Thank God.  I write in the Contemporary genre, so the majority of my research is verifying locations, current events and fashion.  I did however, visit Harry Winston and tried on engagement rings.  What a treat that was.

Crystal: Who are some of your favorite authors that you like to read?

Tracey: I like Julia Kent, Elizabeth Lennox, Deborah Bladon and Melody Anne and I love discovering new authors.

Crystal: Is there a genre you haven't written that you would like to try?

Tracey: Is there a genre I’d like to try…what a good question.  I just finished reading Julia Kent’s romantic comedy series, “Shopping for a Billionaire.”  It inspired me to want to try my hand at a romantic comedy.

EXCERPT:

“Hey baby,” she purred. He turned in the direction of the voice. When he saw her, a huge smile covered his face. She was sitting in the chair wearing a pair of five inch crystal encrusted Louboutins and a smile. He started walking towards her and she stopped him. “Welcome to Naked Night.”

“Naked Night?” he questioned. In the years they’d been together, Kyla fulfilled almost every sexual desire and request Eric had. She had also done some things she didn’t like, but she knew in order to remain in control, she had to please him. She sat in the green velour chair identical to the one in his office, teasing him. Her legs were spread apart with every inch of her on display, watching him drool.

“If you want to join this party, you have to be naked,” she announced.

He started taking his clothes off and she pushed the remote on the stereo. He stood still removing his clothes to the sexy music playing on the stereo. When he removed the last piece of clothing, she let out a soft sigh and stood up. She slowly walked toward him, swaying her hips to the music drawing him in closer. She circled him like a lioness sniffing out her prey. The heat from his body filled the small space between them. She sensed his excitement and standing in front of him with room only for air to pass between them she inhaled, causing her breasts to inflate just grazing his chest.

She leaned in close and purred, “Did you miss me?”

As the words floated off her lips and landed in his ear, they ignited the fire he had been sitting on all weekend. He swallowed hard as she stepped closer. He thought to himself, how could one woman have so much control over him? Before he could answer, she slid her tongue inside his mouth pulling him deeper under her spell. He tried touching her but she stopped him.

Interview:

Crystal: Today I am so excited to host Lucy Felthouse. Welcome Lucy! I'm so happy to have you here today. Would you share a little bit about yourself with us today?

Lucy: Of course. My name is Lucy Felthouse and I’m from Derbyshire, in England. As well as writing, I enjoy reading, watching TV and films, spending time out walking and exploring in the countryside with my other half and my dog, and visiting stately homes and other historical sites and properties.

Crystal: What are you currently working on?

Lucy: I’ve just started work on my next novel. I can’t say too much about it as it’s written for a specific line for a certain publisher and I’d be terribly embarrassed if I mentioned it and they didn’t accept it! But I will say that it’s set in London, and is a M/M/F erotic romance with lashings of BDSM. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to it!

Crystal: Where did you come up with the idea for for either your current release or your current  WIP?

Lucy: Native Tongue is the follow up story to Desert Heat, which I originally wrote for a M/M military boxed set called Unconditional Surrender which was released in October last year. It did really well, and so when the boxed set was taken off sale, I published Desert Heat as a standalone tale. I got lots of messages from people, and comments in reviews, that they’d love to see a follow up story, to find out what happened to the characters next. Naturally I was flattered that the boys had made so much of an impact, so when I got time, I wrote another instalment in their story. I’m delighted to say that so far, reviews have been very positive!

Crystal: Do you have a favorite snack that you like to munch on while writing? If so would you mind sharing what it is with us?

Lucy: Not really—I don’t tend to snack if I can help it. But occasionally if I’m really hungry between  meals I’ll go and get myself a cup of tea and also grab two or three biscuits to dip in it.

Crystal: Do you have a favorite scene you would like to share with us?

Lucy: Sure. I’m quite fond of this scene later in the book, where Hugh and Rustam are in bed together and Rustam gone a little bashful. I can’t say too much more without giving some of the plot away, but it amused me as I was writing it, and still amuses me when I read it back. Though of course it’s better in context ;)

“So stop making excuses and give me a kiss. If you’re too embarrassed for anything else, I promise I won’t hold it against you, but don’t make me sleep next to you without so much as a kiss.” It was a devious move. Balkhi’s libido was just as high as Wilkes’, so he was pretty sure that once they kissed, Balkhi’s hormones would override his conscience. He bloody hoped so, anyway.
Balkhi’s handsome face creased into a smile, and he rolled his eyes, though they glinted with amusement. “All right, all right!”
They moved closer together, and their mouths met. Wilkes sighed happily, relishing the feel of their bodies touching, as well as their lips. They both wore boxer shorts, but having Balkhi’s warm, muscular chest pressed to his was still delicious, particularly since they’d barely touched all day. They’d had no privacy, really, from the moment Balkhi had stepped off the train up until now. Hours spent in each other’s company without being able to express their feelings—Christ, it had been like Afghanistan all over again. Only with less sun, sand and soldiers.
Slowly, Wilkes ramped up the heat of the kiss. If he moved too quickly, Balkhi would suss out his true intentions in a heartbeat. But if he was careful, hopefully he’d believe it was just erotic nature taking its course, rather than his boyfriend being lusty and sneaky.
Tentatively, Wilkes poked out his tongue, seeking entrance to Balkhi’s mouth. The scent of peppermint invaded his nostrils—they’d both brushed their teeth and gargled with mouthwash whilst cleaning up. Mercifully, Balkhi opened up. It took a whole lot of willpower for Wilkes not to dive in and truly possess his lover’s mouth, to show him exactly how much he wanted him, how much he intended to have him. Instead, he kept it slow and steady, sweeping his tongue over Balkhi’s, tickling a little, taunting, having fun.
From Balkhi’s body language, he could tell he was winning him over. Both their cocks were rock hard and ready to go, tenting their boxers and pressing against each other. Balkhi was also relaxing into the embrace, straining towards his lover, silently, possibly unconsciously, asking for more.
Wilkes was just contemplating giving him more when a creak on the landing outside the door made Balkhi spring away from him like a scalded cat and sit bolt upright.
Turning his fearful gaze to the door, he whispered, “What was that?”

Crystal: When you are not busy writing wonderful stories to keep us lucky readers entertained, what do you like to do? Do you have a hobby?

Lucy: Oops, I think I mostly covered this in the first question. But I did forget to mention that I quite enjoy knitting. It’s probably something to do with the creative part of me—it’s nice to see the finished article and know I made it. The most ambitious project I’ve taken on was a jumper (sweater), though I’ve also knitted a penguin, owls, an elf, and lots of simpler stuff like hats, and eReader and phone cases.

Crystal: Do you have a favorite background noise you like to having going while you write (TV, Music, kids playing)?

Lucy: In an ideal world, there’d be no noise at all. I really don’t like noise, and I suspect it’s probably something to do with being an only child. I wasn’t brought up in a house full of screaming and shouting. If I won the lottery I’d buy a house somewhere quiet (I currently live on a pretty typical English residential street) and soundproof my writing room!

I am getting better at blocking out sounds, though. Though things like banging, next door mowing the lawn and the kids across the road playing football right outside are pretty distracting. I end up putting headphones on and playing music if it gets too much.

Crystal: Thank you so much for visiting. It's been a pleasure. Is there anything else you would like to share with us today?

Lucy: Thanks so much for having me here today, it’s been great! And thank you to those of you that have stopped by. Don’t forget to scroll down and enter the giveaway, and also check out the rest of the stops on my blog tour!

EXCERPT:

She beamed, but it didn’t go all the way to her eyes like it normally would. There were lingering fingers of shadow along the edges that prickled his attention.

“What?”

“Does it feel different?” she asked.

He hooked her hair with a finger and dragged them back behind her ear.

“Does what feel different?”

“Us,” she whispered. “I feel like it should feel different, but I feel the same.”

He hummed quietly, knowing full well what she meant.

“How do you want to feel?”

“Like this,” she said immediately, eyes growing urgent. “I love the way I feel when I’m with you. I don’t ever want that to change. But I have been so scared for so long that I just … I wasn’t expecting to feel exactly how I always felt.”

He let his fingers ghost along the elegant curve of her brow, down the lines of her face to the hollow of her cheek. He watched as her eyes closed and her head tilted into the touch.

“How have you always felt?” he wondered, his voice constricting with the band that had tightened around his chest at the simple gesture.

“Loved.” Her eyes opened and met his. “Wanted, happy, excited. A little sad.”

He felt his muscles stiffen at the confession. “Why sad?”

“Because I know one lifetime with you won’t be enough and it kills me.” Her eyes bore into his, reflecting the fear she spoke of. “I can’t lose you, Damon. I’d never survive.”

He kissed her gently on the mouth with one hand lifting up to cup the back of her head. He pulled back a second later before caution could be thrown to the winds and he started something he would be powerless to stop.

“You will never lose me,” he promised. “I won’t ever let that happen.”
