BLURB:

Bia is the goddess of strength and compulsion, but those traits have her trapped in iron. A simple kiss could break the curse, but who wants to kiss a statue? Especially a statue of a woman stabbing a man in the heart? She knows better than to hope her celestial mate will find her, but what if her hopes are justified?

Oliver, a very quiet, geeky guy, knows his way around fabric and fashion. He excels at his job of dressing mannequins for storefronts, but he's lonely. When he sees the statue of Bia, he's smitten. She's everything—strong, confident and sexy—everything he wishes to be. What will happen if the shy man overcomes his fears and gives in to his heart's desire? He just might be able to harness the power of the goddess.

“How did this happen? I’m free.” She kept her knees together and folded her hands on her lap, bunching the fabric to hide her nudity. “The curse? What happened?”

“I’d say you found the person who could be your celestial mate—the one you’re meant to be with forever,” Zelus said. The door opened. Kratos, Andy, and Cam entered the room. Kratos’s eyes widened. “This is a great day. Now we’re only missing Nike.”

“We’ll find her,” Andy said. He slid an arm around Kratos. “We will.”

“How do you feel?” Kratos knelt beside Bia. “How were you freed?”

“I was getting to that,” Zelus said. He rolled his eyes. Beside him, Camden shrugged.

“Oliver. The lovely human.” She bit back a smile. “He was kind to me. He kissed me.”

“He was?” Kratos shared a glance with Zelus. “Oliver. We had a feeling.” He nodded. “Since Oliver has lifted the curse, there is a chance you two are celestial mates.”

“Zelus said that,” Bia said.

“But this transformation is temporary. The hard part is next.” Zelus folded his arms. “You have to convince Oliver to fall in love with you.”

“I don’t know,” Andy said. “It shouldn’t be too hard. He seemed pretty enamored with her when we showed Bia as a statue.”

Bia clasped her hands together and smiled. When she looked at Oliver, even as a memory, she warmed all over. The rage she’d been known for—the reason for her being imprisoned in the iron— melted away when she thought about him.

“Andy, he was doing his job.” Kratos stood. He sighed and tilted his head to the side. “He’s here to dress her. Or he was. He talks to the statues. Maybe he is her celestial mate, but what if he was just being nice?”

Bia clutched the fabric tight to her body and jumped to her feet. “Then why not let him decide?” She stepped up to her brother. She’d suppress her natural urge to use her might against him, but she wasn’t above using force if the need arose. “The curse was broken— for however long, I don’t know—but it was broken. By him.”

#Review ~ Got it Bad: A Bad Boys Gone Good Novel by Christi Barth ~ @christi_barth

Got it Bad: A Bad Boys Gone Good Novel by [Barth, Christi]
Review:
Got is Bad is the third book in the Bad Boys Gone Good Series. I didn't get a chance to read the first two books in this series but I sure did enjoy this one. Christi Barth has done a great job of filling in the details so I didn't feel like I was missing any major details. After reading this book though I know I would enjoy reading the first two in the series.

Got is Bad is Kellan Maguire's story. Kellan is the "good" brother that ended up in witness protection because of his "bad boy" brothers that were involved in the mob. Kellan has had a lot to adjust to. This poor guy has given up the career he was working so hard for, he has learned his brothers were not what the seemed to be, and he's lost everything that normal for him.

Delaney Evans is one of those ladies I would want in my corner if things went bad. She is the designated handler for the Maguire boys. It's her job to keep them safe which sometimes isn't an easy job. These boys know how to get themselves in trouble without even trying. She has tried REALLY hard to keep things professional with Kellan. The attraction and tension between these two has been smoldering for so long that it's not going to take much to light that fuse and let off those explosive fireworks of passion.

I loved watching these two work their way through the mazes to try to have the semblance of a relationship while not letting anyone know they are seeing each other. These two truly are a great match and their feelings run really deep. There is just SO much in their path that they don't see how they can possibly find a happily ever after.

This book contains all the ingredients of a fabulous read. There is plenty of drama, intense family relationship issues, steaming hot romance, intriguing secrets that are revealed along the way, and the bond of a family that runs so deep nothing will come between them. I loved that the brothers are so close even when they are upset with each other they still know that their brothers will have their back no matter what. The storyline has so much going on but it is all well placed and makes for a page-turning, heart-racing, breath-stealing read.

I think this is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Ms. Barth. I really enjoyed her writing style, it was entertaining and easy to read. I know I will be looking for more of her books in the future.

I was given the opportunity to read this great story and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

About Got it Bad:
Got it Bad: A Bad Boys Gone Good Novel by [Barth, Christi]In USA Today bestseller Christi Barth’s last Bad Boys Gone Good novel, the brother who’s always followed the rules finally gets to be a little bad.
Kellan Maguire was a semester away from becoming a lawyer when his life imploded. Now he’s in Witness Protection, hiding from the mob and mad as hell that his brothers lied to him about, oh, everything. The only bright spot in his new life is their drop-dead-gorgeous U.S. Marshal handler. Yeah, he wants to handle her... a lot.
Federal Marshal Delaney Evans has protected her fair share of dangerous criminals. But Kellan is a whole different kind of dangerous—dangerously hot, to be specific. The charming, handsome, and utterly law-abiding Maguire brother got under her skin the moment they met and the more time she spends with him, the harder it is to deny their attraction. Delaney’s willing to give Kellan one night—to get him out of her system—and then it’s over.

Except one night isn’t enough and soon they’re breaking every rule of WITSEC to be together. Kellan’s got it bad for her, but Delaney’s career, her entire life, would fall apart if anyone found out. And then the biggest complication of all hits…

#Review ~ Season of Wonder By RaeAnne Thayne ~ @raeannethayne @SarahBurningham

Season of Wonder by [Thayne, RaeAnne]
I LOVE Christmas themed books. I Love, love, love them and I positively adorable all of RaeAnne Thayne's books. So I always get really excited this time of year when I see that RaeAnne has a new book coming out and WOO HOO! It is a Christmas theme book. Let me tell you my excitement was well placed, Season of Wonder is an incredible story. You may want to grab the Kleenex box before settling in to read this story. I know I shed a few tears along the way.

Dani Capelli has not had an easy life. This lady has been through the mill, dusted herself off, been through the mill again, and is now struggling to make a much better life for her and her two adorable daughters. Dani is a strong, independent, single Mom, with a new career on the line. A new place for a new start is exactly what she and her daughters need and Haven Point seems like the perfect place to find that new, better life. They are all in for a few surprises.

Deputy Sheriff Ruben Morales lives next door to Dani and her girls. Ruben is one of those good guys that I know I would want in my corner. He is the very epitome of what a good guy is. He's sweet, kind, caring, good with Dani's Daughters, knows how to keep law and order, and is really good at making things right for everyone.

Dani and Ruben are a little hesitant of each other at first. Their relationship starts out kind in that "iffy" mode. The attraction is certainly there and those bits of fireworks that started from frustration suddenly turn into smoldering bits of passion. I really enjoyed watching these two to get to know each other. Not only was the romance between Dani and Ruben interesting, but it was also fun to see how these two adults and two children quickly formed a "family" before they even realized what was happening.

Ms. Thayne has created yet another fabulous story that is entertaining, with the perfect amount of drama, friendships, family relationships, romance, with a touch of mystery. There are a few points that I found myself dabbing at tears, others I was holding my breath waiting to see what was going to be revealed next, and then those oh so sweet moments that may have had a tear or two of joy in my eyes as well. Overall, Season of Wonderful is a prime example of RaeAnne Thayne's extreme talent. I just adore every book this talented lady writes. I can't wait to see what she might have in store for us very lucky readers next.

I was given the opportunity to read this incredible story and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

About Season of Wonder:
Season of Wonder by [Thayne, RaeAnne]Dani Capelli has never truly belonged anywhere. And from her earliest days as a foster child in Queens, she would have been lost if it weren’t for her love of animals. Until high school, when she fell hard for the wrong boy, and found herself pregnant—and married—by graduation. Two daughters later, Dani realized her mistake and filed for divorce, and with the help of scholarships and loans—and a lot of macaroni and cheese dinners—she enrolled in vet school. Things were finally looking up…until her ex-husband became her late husband, in the most notorious way possible.

Now Dani and her daughters need an out-of-town pass more than ever. So when the retiring Haven Point veterinarian offers her a chance to settle in the small Idaho town and take over his practice, she jumps at it. But adjusting to the charming mountain community isn’t easy; thirteen-year-old Silver begins acting out while six-year-old Mia is growing tooattached to Haven Point and everything in it, especially their next-door-neighbor, Deputy Sheriff Ruben Morales. And Dani can’t blame her. Ruben is everything she’s secretly wanted—and everything she can’t bear to risk loving…and losing.

As the holidays draw near, their shared concern for Dani’s daughters brings them closer together, giving Ruben the chance to show this big-city woman just how magical Christmas in Haven Point can be...and that the promise of a home at last is very real in the most wondrous season of the year…

A Team of Her Own Book 1: Preseason
by Erin Hayes and Margo Bond Collins

Margo and Erin are visiting Madison Michael today too. Stop by to read another excerpt and pick up a little treat! https://wp.me/pac2ts-CA

About First and Ten:

When Madison Harte inherits a football team with three hot players who all want her, there’s one problem: when it comes to America’s favorite sport, she’s clueless.

I have the worst luck. Failed tech startup? Check. Jerk of an ex-boyfriend? Check. No idea what to do next? Check.

Then my Uncle Dusty passes away and leaves a whole football team to me. Never mind that I’ve never even seen a game. Who has time for that, right?

But I can sell the team and turn my life around, so I fly from San Francisco to Birmingham, Alabama, where I find a whole new level of football obsession—and start to develop a fascination of my own. Mostly with the three players who are very, very interested in me.

I never expected to find a team of my own. Or that there would be so many obstacles in our way.

Luckily, Madison won’t have to choose just one man in this contemporary reverse harem where Friday Night Lights and Bridget Jones collide and where—hallelujah—it’s still raining men.

Excerpt from First and Ten:

The last time I had anything to do with football, Timothy Bartley threw the ball at me during PE, and it hit me in the face. I was left with a shiner for three weeks after that, barely able to see out of my poor eye. Everyone made fun of me, and I still sported a small scar on my eyebrow where my skin had split from the swelling.
That was in sixth grade. Seventeen years ago.
Since then, I hadn’t watched a game, hadn’t paid attention to who’s who, or even glanced at ESPN. That was fine by me. I was happy not having to spend my Saturdays watching the big game. My money was spent on video games, comics, and shoes instead of tickets and merchandise.
Football was in an entirely different universe that didn’t touch mine in the slightest.
Until now.
“Excuse me?” I asked in disbelief, sitting forward in my chair. My black business suit stretched as much as it possibly could, but it still felt tighter than the last time I wore it. Yet another sign that my size-14 waist was now a size 16. I’d put on some weight since my ex Jacob and I broke up six months ago. My boobs looked great though, so I really didn’t mind. He was the one missing out.
“Did you just say what I thought you did?” I asked.
My lawyer, an old family friend named Daniel Reiss, a balding man with a permanent scowl, stopped his reading of my late uncle’s will and looked up. “Which part?”
He must have continued reading while my mind slowly processed what had been bequeathed to me.
“The part about the football.”
He frowned, the wrinkles in his face deepening, and he flipped back a few pages in my uncle’s very long will.
Uncle Dusty had been eccentric when he was alive, amassing a huge fortune that had once covered a vacation home in Tahiti, several of the most expensive cars ever produced, a private jet, and millions of dollars in capital. But, being eccentric, he had spent or sold most of it before he died. Fair enough, I would have done the same. Most of the will consisted of what to do with his coin collection or each of his rare, exotic stamps.
But the part about football was, well, let’s just say unexpected.
Finding his place on the page, Daniel cleared his throat. “‘I leave my football team, the Birmingham Yellowhammers, to my brother’s daughter, Madison Harte.”
Madison Harte. Me.
I blinked. “Is that like a little kid’s team or something? Or his collection of footballs? Or a set of those shirts they wear?”
“Jerseys?” Daniel supplied.
“Yeah, those.”
“No.” He watched at me, perplexed. “They’re a team for the major league.”
I looked at him blankly.
“As in professional football, Ms. Harte.” Ugh. Daniel only used my last name when he thought I was being stupid. I should’ve been used to it by now—he’d used it for the last several months as I refused offer after offer from Jacob to buy out my half of our tech startup, even as my savings dwindled. I finally took him up on it when I had no choice.
I hesitated for another beat, still trying to come to terms with Daniel’s words. “You’re not talking about soccer, are you?” At least I knew something about soccer. I played on a rec team when I was in college. Still terrible at it, but at least I knew some of the rules. Like, you couldn’t use your hands to touch the ball.
Daniel couldn’t hide the derision from his face. No matter how grumpy someone looks, they can always make you feel like the stupidest person in the room.
“No, Miss Harte. American football.”
I worried my bottom lip, a million thoughts running through my head. “Uhm, how can you leave someone a whole football team?”
None of this made any sense.
Daniel sighed and took off his spectacles. “Your uncle was the owner of the Birmingham Yellowhammers. They’re the newest team in the league, and they’re—”
“Birmingham as in... Alabama?” I couldn’t help glancing out the window, which gave me a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay from the fortieth floor of this high-rise building in the Financial District. Daniel always did like having a flashy office.
My own business, a virtual reality tech startup with an app in development that should have been an amazing success, once had a flashy office, too, but that went down the toilet like all my dreams. Shit happened, as I learned too early in life, and it was really hard to pick up the pieces when things didn’t work out.
But don’t think about that right now.
I could see the Bay Bridge in the distance, and Oakland and East Bay lay beyond. I couldn’t imagine anything more different from my current surroundings than the Deep South.
“Yes, as in Birmingham, Alabama,” Daniel said with barely-restrained condescension. He flipped back to continue where he had stopped, but I wasn’t done with him yet.
“What could I do with a football team?”

“If by it, you mean the fumbling, confusing start of something with Seb, then yes. Don’t sell yourself short. Give him a chance, too. He’s not like the other guys,” Andi said.

“You sound like a motivational poster.”

“Sorry.” Andi giggled. “Just trying to help.” “You are.” She sighed. “I need to go. I’m working a six-totwo tomorrow and need to get some sleep.” She’d never be able to settle down, but still.

“Blech. That’s too early.” Andi stood. She left the room with Mary. “Good luck.”

“Thanks.” She hugged Andi. “I know you’re not a morning person, but you’re awesome. I’m going to lean on you.”

“I expect it.” Andi waved. “See you.”

Mary waved and left. She headed to her car. Her brain buzzed from her session with Sebastian and the pep talk from Andi. She liked being on display, and Sebastian knew how to make her feel alive while giving her release. Many other Doms had given her orgasms and played to her needs, but they hadn’t scratched the exact itch within her.

She drove home and sang along with the radio. Once at her apartment, she unpacked her bag, downed a glass of water, then brushed her teeth. She noticed her reflection in the mirror. She gasped. Damn. Her hair was a mess and her makeup smudged. She hadn’t checked her look before she played with Sebastian. He probably thought she didn’t care about her appearance.

Oh well. She didn’t have time to think about her ridiculous hair and makeup. She’d probably mussed herself during her shower. That had to be the case.

She finished brushing her teeth, then washed her face before falling into bed. She needed sleep or she’d be crap at work.

Mary prided herself at being at the top of her game at the air traffic control center. Lives depended on her doing her job. To do the best she could, she needed to settle down.

Within a few minutes and white noise playing in the background, she managed to fall asleep. For the first time in a long while, she didn’t dream and managed to relax.

#Interview ~ His Midnight Sun by Viviana MacKade ~ @ViviMackade

His Midnight Sun
Crescent Creek Book 3
by Viviana MacKade

Interview with Viviana MacKade:
Crystal: Today I have the pleasure of hosting Viviana MacKade. Welcome, Viviana! I'm so excited to have you here today. Would you share a little bit about yourself with us today?

Viviana: I’ll share my current life-status: I’m moving, which gave me the chance to avoid anything remotely close to cleaning in the ‘old’ house, despite the fact we still live there. I’m switching to a keto diet because it’s healthy and such crap (note: keto diet is a -187 gram-a-day of carbs. Pasta is carbs. I’m Italian. You can figure out the rest.) Uh, also, the book I’m presenting today, His Midnight Sun, is the last in the Crescent Creek Serie. I can’t believe I finished a 3+ 1 novella Series!!! By the way, they are all standalone.

Crystal: What are you currently working on?

Viviana: Now that Crescent Creek is closed, I’m playing around with a couple of ideas I’m very excited about. I’ll tell you only this: I’m going to try a different subgenre. I’ll tell you also this: whichever idea I end up following, it will involve a lot of research.

Crystal: Where did you come up with the idea for either your current release or your current WIP?

Viviana: Aidan might be a loner, but that doesn’t make him subtle. I met him while I was writing Rhett’s story (Painted Love), and •sigh• both my critic partner and I fell for him. I’ve never had so much trouble dealing with a character like I had with him. Sure, big trouble leads to big satisfaction, but still….

Crystal: Do you have a favorite snack that you like to munch on while writing? If so would you mind sharing what it is with us?

Viviana: It used to be choc chip cookies, but that was pre-Keto. Now it’s almond, or a teaspoon of any nut butter.

Crystal: Do you have a favorite scene you would like to share with us?

Viviana: Ah, how can I choose? Aidan is, well, Aidan, and Summer has enough spunk and humor to balance his darkness. Put them together, and every scene becomes great!

Crystal: When you are not busy writing wonderful stories to keep us lucky readers entertained, what do you like to do? Do you have a hobby?

Viviana: I read. Yeah, I know. But I was thinking the other day that my life really is book oriented. If I don’t write I read, or critique, or edit… I like–scratch that, I need the beach, and I need to take a walk to clear my mind. Soon I want to start volunteering at a horse shelter with my son. I grew up with horses and it’s the thing I miss the most, they give so much. My boy will love it.

Crystal: Do you have a favorite background noise you like to have going while you write (TV, Music, kids playing)?

Viviana: Complete silence freaks me up, I like the white noise of the outside–wind, rain, the occasional car or people talking. No more than that. Absolutely no music, it means too much for me to use it as background noise. I dislike TV. If my kid is in the house, I’m playing with him so there’s no writing–or any kind of work.

Crystal: Thanks for visiting. It has been a pleasure having you visit today. Can you think of anything else you would like to share with us today?

Viviana:  It’s more of a favor, really. Please, please, please, if you read a book and you like it, write a review. A simple “I liked it” will do.
And if you read a book and you don’t like it, write a review keeping in mind there’s a person who’s going to be crushed. Not by the review, it’s in every Reader’s right not to like a story, but by harsh words and general unkindness.

Determined to send them a big f*** you, Avery resolves to cut loose during a girls’ trip, hightailing her quick-mouthed, plus-sized self to New Orleans. So, what’s a smart woman with a little extra gotta do to get laid in this town?

Not much if you ask Declan McGinn, the lead singer of BlackSmith. Tall, dark, and tattooed, with a body made for sin, Declan prefers his women as curvy as his guitars. Avery’s sharp tongue and keen mind makes him want her even more.

As they burn up the sheets, Avery and Declan realize this is no one-night (or even one-week) stand. But for all of her bluster, Avery isn’t sure she can handle any more rejection. Besides, Declan has demons of his own. Now Avery has a choice to make: play it safe, or place her trust in the hands of a man who’s as tempting as the devil himself.
