#Review Million Dollar Cowboy by Lori Wilde

Million Dollar Cowboy took me on a lovely vacation to Cupid, Texas to visit with old friends and meet a few new. Lori Wilde has written yet another fabulous spellbinding story that is impossible to put down.

Ridge Lockhart may have money and power but he's missing something. He just doesn't know it yet. He's a very successful business man and always on the go. His life has been a mess since he was a young child. He's been through the mill and then back again.

His best friend Archer is getting married and Ridge must do the one thing he hasn't wanted to do, return home. His very first view after his plane lands is Kaia Alzate. Kaia has grown up into a sweet beautiful lady that makes Ridge take a second look, maybe a third and fourth too.

Kaia is one of those characters that is sweet but yet has that little touch of sass that keeps everyone including Ridge on his toes. I quickly bonded with Kaia.

Ridge has a few very uncomfortable issues he must deal with while he is home. I won't tell you too much because I would not want to spoil the story for you. He has issues with his father and their relationship is filled with tension, misunderstandings, and mistakes.

Kaia and Ridge have always been friendly since they grew up together. That friendship has turned into a powerful attraction is smoldering and just waiting for the right moment to explode into a fireworks of passion. I liked the friendship between these two that added to their romantic relationship. There are so many things standing in the way of these two being together. One is that Ridge that is just not good with feelings. He's a business man through and through. He has some major decision to make if he might make it to that happily ever after with Kaia.

Million Dollar Cowboy is one of those yummy cowboy stories that I devoured in a short time. I just could not put this book down. There were too many things going on that I had to find out what twist might be next. There is a nice hot romance, friendships that last through all the ups and downs, their is sweet family interaction, and a boat load of family drama. I was held captivated by the story line from the very first page until the very end.

The characters are great and so easy to bond with. I felt their heartaches and their joys. It was great to see family faces from other Cupid, Texas novels. It's always nice to catch up with friends and see what they have been up to since the last book.

If you are a Lori Wilde fan too then grab this story up and start to devour it now. I always enjoy Ms. Wilde's stories. She has a writing style that grabs my attention and a writing voice that  I just can not get enough of.

I was given the opportunity to read this fabulous book and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

#GiveAway MILLION DOLLAR COWBOY By Lori Wilde

MILLION DOLLAR COWBOY
Cupid, Texas #5
By Lori Wilde

New York Times Bestselling Author Lori Wilde returns to Cupid, Texas with a heartwarming story of a cowboy who comes home to the family ranch for a wedding filled with surprises…

The illegitimate son of a Texas ranching dynasty, Ridge Lockhart left home ten years ago with one goal: to become more successful than the father who never accepted him.

Mission accomplished, but now he’s back at the Silver Feather Ranch for a wedding—three days of best man duty until he can hightail it out. Then he spies Kaia Alzate, and suddenly leaving isn’t quite so appealing.

Kaia Alzate grew up the daughter of the ranch foreman, servants to the mighty Lockharts in the mansion. Back then, she followed Ridge around like a puppy. Now, she’s fighting the attraction she feels for this sexy CEO. She’s determined not to make a big mistake—but when Ridge takes her in his arms she’s stunned…could he be the man she’s waited for all along?

Excerpt:

At this distance, with the width of the landing strip between them, he hadn’t gotten a clear view of her face, but his initial impression was that she was more pretty than beautiful, while her body language exuded a come-sit-by-me friendliness that drew him. She was curvy enough to let him know that she enjoyed a good splurge meal now and again, but she was also healthy and fit. Her skin was tan and supple, her eyes soft and bright, her teeth straight and white. She took good care of herself.
But it was the way she carried herself that totally wrecked him. Confidence mixed with humility. She had an authentic stride full of wholehearted openness. The last person he’d known who’d possessed that special combo was Archer Alzate’s kid sister, Kaia.
He hadn’t seen Kaia face-to-face since she was sixteen and she had attended his and Archer’s graduation from the University of Texas. But two years ago, Archer called him to tell him that while working on her doctorate in veterinarian medicine at Texas A&M, Kaia had been in a terrible car accident and fractured her pelvis. Ridge had flown straight to College Station to see her only to discover she was in a medically induced coma.
The waiting room had been packed with her family and friends, and no one noticed him standing in the doorway. After so much time away he’d felt awkward and misplaced, an outsider. Not wanting to turn Kaia’s accident into a stage for his return, he’d slipped quietly away without speaking to the family. But later he texted Archer to meet him in the parking lot to get an update on Kaia’s condition. Archer gave him the rundown, including the fact Kaia had such a high medical deductible he didn’t know how she was ever going to afford to finish her degree.
Once Ridge knew she was stable and going to pull through, he went to the business office, anonymously paid the fifteen-thousand-dollar deductible toward her medical bills, and swore Archer to secrecy.
Later, when she was out of the coma, he sent flowers and a card and he’d gotten back a kind thankyou note, and their correspondence had ended there. Archer kept his word and Kaia never knew Ridge had come to see her or that he was the one who paid her deductible.
Ridge slipped off his sunglasses for a clearer look at the provocative woman. From the back seat of the Tundra, she extracted an oversized present wrapped in gold foil. The package was so big and the backseat so small. How she’d managed to cram it in?
She tossed her head, a triumphant smile on her face, and turned in his direction. Their gazes met across an empty desert.
For a split second, his heart stopped.
Her obsidian eyes arrested him, a mysterious color that suggested hot summer nights and low, deep-throated whispers. Ripples of recognition jolted his nervous system, both shocking and exhilarating. He knew her.
Kaia Alzate.
Freakadilly circus, he’d been lusting after little Kaia Alzate. Hot for the girl he’d once dubbed the Braterminator.
Ridge coolly slipped his sunglasses back down over his eyes. She’d pestered the hell out of him and Archer when they were kids. Tagging along everywhere they went, tattling if they stepped out of line, and generally being a run-of-the-mill pain-in-the-ass. He might have hidden his eyes from her, but he couldn’t hide the goose bumps spreading over his skin, pushing an insistent heat into his bloodstream as he watched her from behind the safety of the polarized lenses of his aviator Ray-Bans.
Her snapping black eyes sparkled with glee, as an enthusiastic grin split her mouth wide. She had recognized him too, and she looked more than happy to see him.
His gut dove the way it did whenever he’d practiced a stall in pilot training, spinning, whirling, and hurtling headlong toward the earth.
Thank God her hands were full because he had the distinct impression that if she’d been empty-handed, she would have come flying across the tarmac to hug the stuffing out of him.
He didn’t mean to do it, told himself he wasn’t going to do it, but damn if he couldn’t help sliding his gaze over her body. After all, she had no idea what his eyes were doing behind the sunglasses.
Thank you, Ray-Bans.
She moved toward him, arms strapped around the oversized present. Stopped. Cast a glance over her shoulder at the main house. Swung her gaze back to him. She wanted to come over, but didn’t seem to know what to do with the package.
He kept his face unreadable, but gave her a respectful nod. I see you, but no need to rush or gush or make a fuss.
Deliberately, he turned away, telling himself it was to chalk the plane’s tires, and it had nothing to do with the fact his chest was tight and his head fuzzy. And a smile he could not stop was pushing across his face.
He was happy to see her too. So happy it freaked him out.
Once the chalks were in place, and he reined in his galloping pulse, Ridge raised his head, ready to dish up a slick greeting.
But she was gone.
Yay. Great. Perfect. He’d avoided her exuberant hug. Good work.
Why then, did he feel so bummed?

#Reivew - A Wedding for Christmas by Lori Wilde

A Wedding for Christmas: A Twilight, Texas Novel by [Wilde, Lori]Some of you may know that Christmas books are my FAVORITE books to read. There is just something about all that holly jolly goodness in Christmas books that I just LOVE. I also adore all Lori Wilde's books. So a Christmas book by Lori Wilde, A Wedding for Christmas, went straight to the top of my to be read pile.

A Wedding for Christmas is a A Twilight Texas book that includes updates on a lot of my friends in Twilight. Gabi and Joe (that we watched fall in love in last Christmas) are getting married this year. Joe's best friend Ryder is coming home for the wedding for the first time in years. Poor Ryder is in for one surprise after another.

Ryder is the typical bad boy of Twilight. Under all that leather clad, rough and tough bad boy exterior lives the boy that didn't have an easy life growing up. He sweet as can be but always veers more towards protecting his heart than wearing it on his sleeve. You can't help but fall for Ryder.

Katie is sweet, kind, independent, loves her family, and has been in love with Ryder since she was a teenager. Katie has been through a lot lately and is working on finding out just who she is. I found an instant bond with Katie. She really is the good girl and wants to be just a little bad for a while.

When Katie and Ryder are together their attraction is magnetic. These two try hard to keep their hands off each other and their feelings to themselves. I loved watching these two try to dance around their feelings while trying to hide their attraction from everyone in town.

I read this book in one setting. The book just would not close I had to keep reading! I had to find out what was going to happen next and if Katie and Ryder were going to be able to work things out and maybe find their happily ever after.

I loved this book. The story line held my attention, the characters are very well written, and it was wonderful to visit Twilight again. I enjoyed my Christmas vacation and my visit with all my friends in Twilight. If you haven't read any of the other books from Twilight never fear, A Wedding for Christmas will stand alone just fine. The other Twilight books are awesome too though. So you may want to pick up a few more with this one.

If you enjoy a small town romance story, are addicted to Christmas stories like me, or are a Lori Wilde fan too then you really need to grab A Wedding for Christmas. I know immensely enjoyed it and I think you will too.

I was given the opportunity to read this wonderful story and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

#Review - Love of the Game: A Stardust, Texas Novel by Lori Wilde

Love of the Game is the latest release in Lori Wilde's captivating Stardust, Texas series. I think this may be my favorite in the series so far and they have all been incredible stories.

I think one of my favorite thing about this series is the sisters connection. These sisters have all been adopted into the very loving, nourishing, and supportive Carlyle family. They may not be related by blood but their bond and and support of each other could not be strong if they were. Each sister has had horrible experiences prior to their adoption. I love that the caring and loving of wonderful parents has been able to help them grow and bond together.

Kasha Carlyle may have had the worst past yet. I won't tell you the details but I will say the fact that she has been able to over come so much and is such a caring person is amazing and a tribute to how a loving home and family can heal.  I found an instant connection with Kasha. I felt her pain, understood her fears, admired her loyalty, and cheered for her victories. Kasha is not only is dealing with a new job, an attraction to her newest patient, but also has a new half sister that she knew nothing about that now needs her. She's struggling with getting to know her sister and understand the care that she needs.

Axel Richmond has been through a very traumatic loss and suffered an injury that has set him out of the career that has become his everything. He is handsome, charming, and is a sweetheart under that playboy persona. My heart broke for Axel. I felt his pain and shed a few tears for him. I think I may have felt for Axel and formed a stronger bond because I am dealing with a similar loss that Axel has suffered. All Axel thinks he wants is his arm to heal and get back in the game.

When Kasha and Axel meet there is an instant attraction. However they aren't allowed to act on their attraction due to their working relationship. They sure do push each other's buttons and bring things to a simmering boil. I really enjoyed watching these two get to know each other. Their personalities and previous experiences have made them into just the right person that might be able to mend each of their tattered hearts and perhaps find their happily ever after together.

Love of the Game is a spectacular example of Lori Wilde's writing style. She has once again written a story that captivated me from the first page of the book and kept me entertained and intrigued to the very last page. Kasha and Axle's story is sincerely an emotional page turner. I found myself flipping pages quickly to see what was going to happen or be revealed next. It was wonderful to visit the the Carlyle family and to see what had happened since the last book. I know I will be impatiently awaiting the next story in this series to catch up with everyone and see how things are going in Stardust, what the Carlyle family is up to and how the Gunslingers are doing. I also can not wait to see what the mystery trunk will reveal to the next in line Carlyle sister that finds the next magical key.

Love of the Game is the third book in the Stardust, Texas series. I have had the chance to read them all and each one is wonderful. If you haven't had a chance to read the previous two books, it's OK, don't worry, Love of the Game will stand on it's own just fine. While your picking up your copy of Love of the Game you might want to grab Rules of the Game, and Back in the Game. They are marvelous reads too!

I was given the opportunity to read this spectacular story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Love of the Game.
