#Review REED By R.C. Ryan

REED
Series: The Malloys of Montana
By R.C. Ryan
Review:

I have had the chance now to read a few books by R.C. Ryan. Each one is just as good if not better than the last. This lady can write a cowboy story that's for sure. There is romance, drama, suspense, family, and life on the ranch of course.

I quickly bonded with Ally Shaw and her adorable little boy Kyle. Ally is certainly in need of a change of pace. She has came to town to reconnect with their only other relative, Ally's Uncle on her mother's side of the family. Ally has high hopes but well the uncle just isn't all she hoped he would crack up to be. Ally and Kyle try to make the best of it and try not to upset him much but well he's not easy to get along with. I'll stop there and let you read this fabulous tale for yourself.

Reed Malloy is about to experiences some life changes that he never seen coming when he  runs into little Kyle in the middle of their small town. Reed is one of those handsome cowboys that are all macho but have the worm gooey soft heart. The attraction between Reed and Ally is instant. They quickly form a friendship and Reed pitches in to help out with Ally's new business.

Having Reed around to show them the ropes and introduce them around eases their way into the welcoming fold of the town. Everyone quickly takes to sweet Ally and adorable Kyle.

Just when Ally thinks she has her running smooth bad things start happening. Ally and Kyle are in danger and quickly taken in by the Molloy family. They wrap them both up into the caring arms of their family. The Molly have is just so wonderful and loving. They have suffered extreme loss but have pulled together to keep the family safe and in tact.

Reed and Ally's attraction turns from flirtation to passion when they get a chance to be alone. These two are good together. Add in little Kyle and they are all good together. There is a lot that these two will have to over come if they are going to be able to get their happily ever after together.

I loved the interaction of the family with the kids and how loving everyone is. It just melts my heart to see this family bonded so tightly together and so strong. You have a problem with one Molley you are going to get the whole family.

The danger and suspense makes for some pretty heart pounding moments and lots of intense reading with pages flying by quickly. There are secrets revealed that are huge! I sure did not see some of these twist coming when they started to unravel.

All in all this is a fantastic story that you are going to want to devour if you enjoy a good cowboy story with plenty of drama. I love when the family is involved it just adds so much more to the story line. This is part of the The Malloys of Montana series, however it will stand on it's own just fine. If you have had a chance to read any of the other books though you will be happy to see Matt and Vanessa, Luke and Ingrid, and the rest of the family.

I was given the opportunity to read this wonderful story and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A new beginning . . .

A fresh start. That's exactly what Ally Shaw needs and what she's found in Glacier Ridge, Montana. Creating a simpler life with her young son and reconnecting with her only remaining family-it's all part of Ally's plan to chase away the pain of her past. But when a dangerously irresistible cowboy rescues her little boy, Ally can't deny she's excited about what else the future might bring.

Reed Malloy was a wild horse who wouldn't be broken. Devoted to his work on the land at the expense of everything else, he'd never met a woman who could hold his interest . . . until Ally. And now, beautiful Ally and her fearless, freckled child have this cowboy wanting more. This isn't Ally's first time at the rodeo, though, and convincing her to trust him isn't easy. But there isn't anything he won't do to keep her safe . . . and make her his.

EXCERPT:

Ally shook her head. “In case you haven’t noticed, at the kitchen table my son was staring at you with a hunger in his eyes that I’ve never seen before. As though you were that plate of brownies and he wanted to devour you.”
“Yeah. I noticed.” Reed’s smile was quick and dangerous. He reached out and drew her close. “I wish his mother would look at me that way.”
She put a hand to his chest to hold him a little away. “And inflate that giant ego of yours, cowboy?”
“Aw. Come on. Just enough to let me know I was missed. At least a little.”
Her voice lowered. She avoided his eyes. “You were.”
“What was that? Could you say it louder?”
“You were. Missed.”
He lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him. “That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
“A painful admission. So . . . ” She flushed slightly. “Your turn. Did you miss me, too?”
“Way more than I wanted to. I was up there to do a job, and a certain red-haired witch kept getting in my head, messing with my mind.” His tone deepened. “All the time I was up in the hills, I kept worrying that you were just a dream. Tonight, on the way to town, I started thinking I’d show up in Glacier Ridge and find this old building still empty, and you and Kyle were figments of my imagination.”
“That’s some imagination you have, cowboy.”
He lowered his face to press his mouth to the hair at her temple. “Oh lady, you have no idea the things I’ve imagined.”
His hands tightened at her waist and he pulled her against him.
When she lifted her head to protest, he cut off her words with a kiss that rocked them both back on their heels.
She came up for air. “Reed . . .”
“Shh.” He kissed her again, lingering over her mouth. “Oh, baby, how I needed this.”
He slid his hands along her arms and lifted them to his neck. When she didn’t pull away he moved his open palms down her arms, down her back, drawing her even closer. And then, while his mouth moved over hers, taking her on a slow, sensual ride, his hands trailed her sides until they encountered the swell of her breasts. His thumbs found her nipples already hard through the fabric of her dress.
He swallowed her little gasp of surprise. When she stiffened and tried to pull away, his kiss gentled, as did his touch, until she sighed and relaxed in his arms.
She drew in a long, deep breath. “You should probably go.”
“Yeah.” He nuzzled the corner of her eye, her cheek, before lowering his mouth to the sensitive hollow of her neck. “Or I could stay.”
She involuntarily shuddered at the press of his lips to her tender flesh. “That’s not a good—”
“Have mercy. Think of that long drive back to my ranch.” His hands were roaming again, finding all kinds of interesting places to touch. To tease. Until he had her, and himself, thoroughly aroused.
“I’m not ready . . .”
“I am. Red, I’m so hot, I’m practically going up in flames.”
“I know. I am, too. But I’m just not ready for . . . ” She put a hand to his chest and backed up a step. “I need some space. I can’t think when you’re this close.”
“Neither can I. But we don’t need to think. Why can’t we just go with our feelings?”
With her chest heaving, she took another step back, and then another. “I did that once.” Her eyes misted and she blinked furiously. “And I learned a very important lesson. There are always consequences to acting on our feelings without thinking.”
The sight of her fighting tears was a splash of ice water.
He gathered her close and pressed his forehead to hers. “Sorry. I know better. But you’re killing me, Red.”
In response she merely held on and dragged in deep, calming breaths while he did the same.
When the trembling passion had cooled enough, Reed touched a hand to her cheek in an achingly sweet gesture. “You know I want you. That isn’t going to change. But I’m glad you had the brain tonight. I guess one of us needed to be sensible.”
She managed a weak smile. “You don’t make it easy.”
“Good. I’d hate to think this was one-sided.” He plucked his hat from the table. “Since I can’t stay the night, I’d better leave while I can still walk.”
“I’ll go downstairs with you.” She led the way and opened the door to the shop.
In the doorway he turned and gathered her close. Against her ear he whispered, “Whenever you find it in your heart to let me in, I’ll be waiting. Good night, Ally “
He brushed a kiss over her cheek.
She surprised him by drawing him close and giving him a hard, hungry kiss before stepping back.
He shook his head while keeping his eyes steady on hers. “I’ve never been a patient man. Like I said. You’re killing me, Red.”
Without a backward glance he strode away.
As he did, he had the strangest sensation that he was being watched. Not just by Ally, but by another pair of eyes.
He made a slow turn. There seemed to be no one around, but the feeling persisted.
He heard the door to the shop close. Heard the lock being thrown.
Still feeling prickly, he climbed into his truck and drove away.

#GiveAway - Luke by R.C. Ryan

  LUKE
The Malloys of Montana, #2
By R. C. Ryan
ABOUT THE BOOK:

In the New York Times bestselling tradition of Linda Lael Miller and Diana Palmer, comes the second book in R.C. Ryan's new series about the Malloy brothers, Montana ranchers who find love while uncovering the dark secrets of their past.

Wild. Reckless. Stubborn. That's Luke Malloy in a nutshell. The solitary life of a rancher and the untamed Montana wilderness make him feel alive-and nothing will ever change that. Not even being thrown from his horse and forced to accept a stranger's help. The fact that this stranger is a beautiful blonde with a passion for ranching that rivals his own doesn't hurt. But there's a secret she's hiding, and Luke won't rest until he uncovers it...

Ingrid Larsen doesn't need anyone's help. Not with managing her family's ranch. Not with raising her little sister. And certainly not with the mysterious incidents occurring on her property. When this too-sexy-for-his-own-good cowboy needs a place to recover, she hopes he'll be in and out in no time flat. But just as she's beginning to trust Luke's promise of protection, Ingrid's secret threatens to tear them apart.

Luke lifted a hand to the corn silk strands dancing around her cheeks.
At once her smile fled and she jerked back. “Don’t. I told you before. I’m not Nadine.”
His eyes narrowed on her. “For the record, there’s no way I’d ever confuse you with your mother.”
“Then don’t try playing those games with me.”
“What games are we talking about?”
“You know exactly what I mean. All those sexy moves.”
“Really? Sexy?” He was grinning as he reached a hand to her hair. “Like this?”
Her chin came up. “If you want lots of hair, reach for Nadine’s.”
“Is that why you chopped yours off?” He allowed a silken strand to sift through his fingers. “To prove a point?”
“Well, aren’t you the brilliant observer. For the record, there are a lot of things Nadine does that I refuse to do. I don’t bother with makeup. And—”
“—and you try to hide your gorgeous body under this bulky shirt.” He fingered the rough collar. His smile was quick and charming. “I’ll let you in on a secret. It’s not working.”
She slapped his hand away. “Stop trying to be clever. I know what I am. I’m a rancher who’s struggling to stay on the land I love. A big sister working overtime to raise Lily to be the best she can.”
“You forgot the most important thing. You’re a woman.” His voice lowered to a near growl. “Maybe you’d like to forget that, but it’s impossible for me to overlook the fact that you’re not just a woman, but a gorgeous, amazing, very independent woman.”
She actually gasped as he leaned close.
“Just so you know, I’m going to kiss you, Ingrid.” His arms came around her and he gathered her close.
He’d known her lips would be soft and inviting. Had known it from the first time he’d looked at them. But he wasn’t prepared for the taste of her. Sweet, yet tart. So strong, and yet he could feel the way her breath hitched, alerting him to her unease.
All woman, and yet fighting it. She kept her hands at her sides, refusing to give him any encouragement.
“I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do. So don’t be afraid.” He spoke the words inside her mouth.
“I’m not—”
“Just for a moment, Ingrid, let yourself enjoy something.”
She responded with a soft purr in the back of her throat. For the space of a heartbeat he could feel her relax in his arms as she gave herself up to the moment.
A burst of heat shot through Luke’s veins. His heartbeat was thundering, keeping time with hers. He changed the angle of the kiss and took it deeper, until he could actually feel the fire.
The ground tilted beneath his feet, and he knew he was losing control. He hadn’t meant to take it this far. None of this had been planned. He’d merely wanted to kiss her and tease her a little. But now, too late, he realized that one taste of these lips would never be enough.

#Review - Luke by R.C. Ryan

Raise your hands if you like Cowboy stories as much as I do? What is there not to like about a hot cowboy with a heart of gold that will protect those he loves with all that he is? So how in the world is it possible this is the first book I have read by R.C. Ryan? I don't know but I know it sure will not be the last.

Luke is the middle Grandson in the Malloy family. He is a handsome cowboy with a bit of wild side. He has that heart of gold that shines through when he is around those he loves. His adventurous side finds him alone in the mountains with a head wound. Thankfully Ingrid Marrow just happened to be out checking on her herd of cows when she hears the commotion that caused Luke's fall.

Ingrid is one of those ladies that I couldn't help but admired from the beginning. She sweet, loves her family, smart, independent, and courageous. This lady has the world on her shoulders and she's been holding it up pretty much on her own.

Ingrid could use some help, even if she doesn't think so, with everything that is happening around the ranch. Her mother is a wild child herself and spends most of her time running around searching for a good time. Ingrid has pretty much raised her adorable little sister Lily and has done a great job. Lily is a sweet girl that loves her big sister and quickly befriends the wounded stranger, Luke. I think some of my favorite scenes in this book are when Luke plays Go Fish with Lily.

There are unexplainable things going on around the ranch that leads to plenty of drama and suspense that had me flipping pages quickly. The romance between Ingrid and Luke is sweet and attraction is smoldering hot with fireworks ready to fly when they are alone.

Luke by R.C. Ryan has all the wonderful things that make a good read. There is drama, suspense, family interaction, romance, sweet and steamy. The characters are alluring with a riveting story line that kept me enthralled from the first page all the way to the end.

This is part of The Malloys of Montana Series but stands on it's own just fine. I haven't read the previous books and I certainly enjoyed this one. I didn't feel like I was missing any important details to take away from my reading pleasure.

I know I will certainly be looking for more books by R.C. Ryan in the future.

I was given the opportunity to read this terrific story and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.
