Love, Lex (The Undergrad Years #1) by Avery Aster ~ REVIEW~

I have read a few books in the The Manhattanites series and I found it interesting to read about Lex at a younger age. This book is written in true Avery Aster fashion, there is plenty of humor, some drama, and lots of steamy scenes.

The Undergrad series is a New Adult series that is giving us great insight into the characters we have all grown fond of in the The Manhattanites series. In Love, Lex I can certainly see how Lex turned into the feisty lady that she is. I enjoyed getting a better picture of how Lex's life was before she lost her father and just how wild and crazy her life was. She wasn't so wild and crazy, but wow her Mom was.Lex has been through a lot in life and has came through it fighting and trying to make the best of life. A lot of that is thanks to her best friends. They always have each others back.  I enjoyed seeing that the strong friendship between Lex, Taddy, Blake, and Vive started at such a young age. This group of friends is fun, quirky, and make an intriguing story.

I am anxious to see what Avery Aster has written for Taddy's story. I enjoyed her story in The Manhattanites series so I'm anxious to see what Taddy is up to in her Undergrad years. It is in my to be read pile and I look forward to reading it.

If you have had the chance to read the The Manhattanites series I think you will enjoy The Undergrad series as well.

I have not read many of the New Adult books but I find them to be very similar to romance books I've read with the characters just a little younger. So if you haven't read a New Adult book don't be afraid to give them a shot.

I was given the opportunity to read Love, Lex so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Love, Lex

Please remember you may click on the title in any of my reviews to purchase the book. If you use my links I get a few cents from your purchase. It's truly appreciated if you use my links :) THANK YOU

Shatter ~The Seaside #3~ by Rachel Van Dyken ~ Review

Shatter is the third book in The Seaside series by Rachel Van Dyken and I have had the great pleasure of reading all three of them. To say I enjoyed this book is putting it very mildly, I LOVED this book. Shatter is full of drama that kept me on the edge of my seat, turning pages, and wondering what in the world could possibly happen next! There is one major drama or surprise after another. I could not put this book down, I kept trying to do other things that needed to be done but I kept quickly returning to reading.

I have to say Rachel Van Dyken is a very talented author that has created characters that are not only very dynamic and thrilling, but humorous and emotional as well. I love Rachel's style of writing, she has a way of writing a story that pulls me in from the beginning and hangs on all the way until the end, then leaves me anxious for the next book.

Alec finds himself in some very hot water that he is unsure how to get out of. There are so many things going on that I wanted to scream at Alec to just tell the truth and let his girl and his family help him get through the mess. I don't want to give too much away so I'll let you read it for yourself and find out what all the drama is about. If you have read Tear and Pull then you will definitely want to read Shatter, there are some major surprises that are revealed.

I was very excited to see a preview to another Seaside Series book at the end of Shatter. I can not wait to read it! I am sure Ms. Van Dyken has created yet another great story that will keep me entertained. I know I have a few more of her books in my to be read pile and I can not wait to get to them!

If you are hesitant to try a book in the New Adult genre, try it, I think you will enjoy it. I know I sure did.

I was very luck to receive a copy of this book to read in exchange for sharing my thoughts with you. I also received Shatter as a gift. If you are looking for a good book to give as a gift may I suggest this one?

Pull ~The Seaside #2 ~ by Rachel Van Dyken

Pull is the second book I have read in the Seaside Series by Rachel Van Dyken. I was completely torn in Tear between Alec and  Demetri. After reading Pull I can so see  why Alyssa  would swoon for Demetri. This guy is Swoon worthy! Rachel  Van Dyken has written yet another wonderful story that had me completely captivated from page one all the way to the end. I love this book,  there is so many emotions in that I may suggest grabbing a Kleenex box, I laughed, I cried, I just thoroughly enjoyed it.
Demetri is trying really hard to keep his life on track in this book. He's having a rough time of it but he's doing it day by day. Demetri really is a bad boy that has a heart made of solid gold. When he meets Alyssa things are a little rough between them at first. But watching these two get to know each other and helping each other heal. They are exactly what the other needs and reading their story is an emotional roller coaster ride.

Alyssa has been in such a dark place for so long when Demetri comes along, he is exactly what she needs to help her start living again. I loved Alyssa and felt her pain and her misery of what she has been through. When things start to work out between her and Demetri  I was so excited for both of them. This girl needed love and someone to show her how to live again. Demetri  is just the guy to do that.

There is a lot of drama in this book that most certainly kept me turning pages quickly. If you have read Tear, then you must read Pull if you have not already. I liked that Alec and Nat would appear to lend that little bit of support or an ear for Demetri. I love series books because I love catching up with all my "friends" from previous books. I have Shatter in my to read pile and I CAN NOT wait to start reading it. I wonder what wonderful story Rachel has came up with for us next.

I was very lucky to receive a copy of this book to read and share my thoughts with you. Stay tuned for my thoughts on Shatter soon.
