My Spy By Dana Marton ~ Review ~

I have a few of Dana Marton's books in my to be read pile and they all look great. My Spy found it's way to the top first. To start with I just have to say WOW! Give me a few minutes to catch my breath from all that excitement. I loved My Spy. There is plenty of drama, suspense, intrigue, mystery, romance, and chemistry in this book. Where do I start?

Jamie Cassidy has led a VERY dangerous life and has a very dangerous job. He was drastically hurt on one of his missions. He has not wanted to get involved in a relationship because he just doesn't think he is cut out for that. That is until he meets independent, wise, and strong Deputy Sheriff Bree Tridle. The chemistry between these two is almost flame worthy. They fight hard against their attraction for each other however, they just can't seem to stay away from one and other. The more time they spend together the more the sparks start to fly.

I admire Bree so much for her strength of character for her job as well as the dedication she has to her sister. Bree is not only great with her sister but she does a fabulous job trying to keep peace in her county. I really enjoyed meeting Bree.

There is plenty of mystery in this book. Just when I thought they might be putting the pieces together to solve one thing, something else was happening! I spent most of this book sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what Bree and Jamie were going to get themselves into next. I loved how these two worked so well together from the beginning. Not only do they have great chemistry but they are great partners.

Ms. Marton has done a fabulous job of creating relatable characters that are a whole lot of fun to read about as well as a wonderful suspenseful mystery that had me completely spell bound. If you are already a fan of Ms. Marton's work then I suggest you check this one out. If you have not had a chance to read any of her work yet, my suggestion is grab this one, I think you'll like it. I can't wait to read the other two books in my to be read pile. I have a feeling I am in for more fabulous suspense filled stories!

I was given the chance to read this book to share my thoughts on this book. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

Bannon Brothers: Triumph by Janet Dailey ~Bannon Brothers #3 ~ Review

I have been reading Janet Dailey's work for many years now and I always enjoy her fascinating stories. Triumph in the Bannon Brothers series is another wonderful examples of Ms. Dailey's work. It has been a while since I have had the chance to read one of her books and I truly enjoyed this one.

Ms.Dailey has created intriguing characters with charm and charisma that are involved in a story line that kept me turning pages quickly.

Kelly Johns is an on air anchor who misses her reporting days. She gets involved in an investigation with Deke Bannon that leads to a lot of mystery, some drama, and a whole lot of danger for Kelly.

I really found Kelly to be a fun heroine, she is smart, charming, and really good at digging into things she maybe should stay out of but doesn't want to. I loved how she was willing to dig right into this case and help Deke solve some of the mysteries.

Deke Bannon is a HOT hero, that is really good at being in the right place at the right time to help save Kelly. I loved Deke's way of getting involved in his case and doing just about anything to get the bad guys or gals.

I have to say I was surprised who some of the bad guys and gals were in this book but it sure was fun unraveling the mystery as I read.

I have not read the other two books in this series but if this book is any indication I sure wouldn't mind reading them. I sure they are just as much fun to read as Triumph was. I didn't feel like I was missing any pertinent information to take away from my enjoyment.

If you enjoy a good book with plenty of mystery, some romance, danger, characters that can get themselves in the middle of the investigation for better or worse, I think you will enjoy this one.

If you are a Janet Dailey fan like myself, I think you will find this is more of her fantastic writing.

I actually grabbed this book off the top of my Mom's to be read pile, I just happened to get to it first :) My Mom is the person who helped nurture my love of reading so we tend to like a lot of the same books and authors.

Exposed by Laura Griffin

Exposed is the second book I have had the pleasure to read by Laura Griffin from the Tracers series. Laura Griffin has a way of grabbing your attention from page one and holding it tight all the way to the end. The drama & suspense started early in Exposed and kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. To say I really enjoyed this book is putting it lightly! Exposed is most certainly a page turner.

Maddie Callahan is a woman that is made out of tough stuff. She has survived so many tragedies in her life and it has made her stronger. She has found her outlet in helping solve other crimes and helping those families be able to find closure. She uses her talent as a photographer to photograph crime scenes. She is a CSI that works at the Delphi Center. I bonded with Maddie right away. When she finds herself a possible witness in an kidnapping connected to a major crime ring she meets Brian Beckmann an FBI agent. Maddie and Brian have an instant attraction. When Maddie finds herself in some dangerous situations Brain decides to make Maddie's safety as his own person responsibility.

I loved how Brian, the strong, tough, FBI agent  also has a sweet side. Maddie doesn't want to get involved in another relationship because she doesn't want to be hurt again. Brian is willing to give her the time she needs to adjust to their friendship turning into more.

Maddie & Brian work really well together.
Brain isn't crazy about the idea of Maddie assisting with the investigation but he soon learns Maddie is a determined woman . she has found herself  in the middle of this mess and she is going to help solve the case. They are a very compelling couple with so much chemistry. It was so much fun watching their love develop.

I absolutely adored this book, it has drama, suspense, and romance all the things that make a book great.  If you enjoy a good mystery romance I think you will truly enjoy Exposed. If you are already a Laura Griffin fan I know you are going to be anxious to pick up the latest in the tracers series. I loved it and CAN NOT wait to see what Laura Griffin has in store for us next.

I was extremely lucky to receive an advanced readers copy of this book to read. It has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you about this book.

Crisis of Identity by Denise Moncrief

I've become a fan of Denise Moncrief, she has a way of telling a wonderful mystery that keeps you totally enthralled. Crisis of Identity was no exception to that. I truly was hooked on this book from page one. The story has so many twist that I was turning pages very quickly. There is never a dull moment for poor Tess.

Tess Copeland has enough problems of her own. She is on the run from the law for a crime that she didn't "really" commit. She takes on the identity of a deceased woman. Little does she know but Shelby Coleman seems to have as many problems as Tess if not more. People seem to want Shelby dead so Tess is in a lot of danger. Tess has spunk, is very independent, and is so creative to get out of the messes she finds herself in, you just have to love her.

She meets a US Marshall, Jake Coleman that has been searching for her. She also meets up with Trevor Smith that claims he is a PI. Can Tess really trust either of these men to keep her safe or is one or both of them out to get her. She has a lot of trust issues with plenty of just cause. This girl has a lot of problems on her plate.

There is also the romance that develops between Tess and Trevor. She has feelings for him but can she trust these feeingls or is Trevor just out to get her too?

This is a really good mystery story. There is so much going on I kept thinking wow what is going to happen next!

I would recommend this book if you are looking for a good mystery with some romance thrown in.

Deceptions of the Heart by Denise Moncrief

Denise Moncrief has done it again, she kept me completely enthralled all the way through this book. Deceptions of the Heart is full of so many twists & turns that the drama keeps you turning pages very quickly. The concept behind this story is so interesting I was completely hooked from page one.

Rhonda Prentiss wakes up one morning in a bed she has never seen, with a husband she doesn't know, in a house she has no memory of living in,  with people she has never meet in her life, and a face in the mirror she has never seen. She soon discovers that she is living the life of Jennifer Cristobal. However she has no memories that belong to Jennifer and only remembers Rhonda's life. She finds herself in a lot of dramatic situations and very unsure who she can trust. Who are these people in Jennifer's life and are they trying to kill her on purpose? Can she return to Rhonda's life and get help there? Can she trust Jennifer's husband and her step daughter to help her? Can she trust the doctor that has been treating Jennifer?

She figures out that Rhonda has passed away and Jennifer has received her heart via a heart transplant. Somehow this has caused Rhonda's memories to be trapped in Jennifer's body. Like I said the concept behind this book really kept me interested. This is such an interesting concept. Could this really happen?

I really enjoyed this book and could not stop reading. I could not wait to see what was going to happen to Rhonda/ Jennifer and who's memories were actually going to stay with Jennifer's body.

I would recommend this book to all those out there that enjoy mystery with a little romance. If you like some interesting twist with your story I think the twists and turns in Deceptions of the Heart will keep you reading.

Eye of the Storm By Denise Moncrief

Eye of the Storm By Denise Moncrief is part of the Moonlight Mysteries series. I have read three books from this series now and they have all been good, quick reading, short mysteries. I enjoyed Eye of the Storm just as much as the previous two books I had read.

Kieran Talbot has enough problems of her own that she is trying to get away from. She's at her friend's beach house to re-group. The weather is turning nasty and she is just settling in to wait out the storm.  She doesn't need or want another problem to show up on her door step. That's exactly what she gets in the form of bloody and injured Davis Jackson. Kieran puts her medical skills to use and help him the best she can with what she has to work with.

Kieran and Davis are just getting to know each other when trouble for both of them appears.  These two are going to have to work together to survive.  Not only are they in danger from some bad folks, they have a nasty hurricane to dell with.  You talk about bad luck, it seems to be following these two around.

Denise Moncrief has a way of putting a lot of drama and Action into 26 pages. This is another one of those page turners that you just have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. This book throws in some twist that you don't expect and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed this short story mystery romance.

If you enjoy a good mystery with some romance included, in the short story form, then you are going to enjoy this book.

Threat To Our Forever By Em Epe

Threat To Our Forever By Em Epe is part of the Moonlight Mysteries series. I really enjoyed reading this book. Oh my goodness this is one of those books that just really grabs you from the beginning. From page one I was enthralled and completely caught up in the mystery and drama. I could not put this book down.

Lilly and Sam Kendell are facing something that no parent should have to go through. Their daughter has been terribly hurt and they don't know who is responsible for the crime. Sam has a dangerous job that could have endangered his daughter, his daughter is dating someone that could also have caused danger, and Lilly's family has some connections that could also be dangerous. They have to figure out who is the threat before something else happens to their family. Sam will do anything to protect his wife and daughters. Their marriage is already strained, will all this drama cause their marriage to completely fall apart?

There is a lot of drama, action, and unconditional love in this book. Em Epe has combined some of my favorite reading themes to put this wonderful book together. I love a good mystery with some drama and then a sweet love story thrown in.  You may want to grab a box of Kleenex because there is a lot of emotion in Threat To Our Forever.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick mystery read. If you enjoy a short story mystery with some sweet romance I think you will really enjoy this wonderful story.

An Impostor in Town by Denise Moncrief

An Imposter in Town by Denise Moncrief is part of the Moonlight Mysteries Series. This is the second book I have read by Denise Moncrief, she has a way of telling a mystery in a short story that keeps you turning the pages.

I enjoyed reading about Peyton Chandler and all the things she has lived through. This is one woman that is due a break. She has been on the run and given up so much. I loved when she was finally starting to get a nice relationship with Sheriff Brian Parker. The secrets that Peyton is keeping could ruin their relationship.

Brian Parker has a thing for falling for women that have secrets or don't remember their past. Can the relationship he has formed with Peyton be strong enough to keep them together after he learns all Peyton's secrets.

This book is filled with lots of drama and some sweet romantic scenes. I think you will enjoy this book if you love a good mystery.

Torn By Keri Neal

Torn by Keri Neal is a fast passed great combination of mystery & romance. This is one of the those stories that gets you hooked and keeps you turning the pages. There is so much going on and so many twist and turns it really keeps your attention.

Shane Baxter is a handsome agent that is on a mission when he meets the love of his life, Dixie. Their love is not suppose to be happening and could interfere with his mission. He will do anything in his power to keep Dixie safe, even if that means walking out of her life.

Dixie Peterson is a strong independent woman that finds herself in the middle of mess she didn't know was happening. Shane comes to her rescue to save her and then walks out of her life.

When these two both meet up later in a Mexican hotel things start to turn wild again. Can Dixie get past the lies Shane told her and trust him to keep her safe once again.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good mystery with some romance thrown in. I found myself really into this story and I think you will too.

Trail's End by Denise Moncrief

Wow, where do I begin with this one? I really enjoyed Trail's End by Denise Moncrief. This book is 46 pages of entertainment. It is a short story with lots of twists and turns. I love a good mystery with romance and this was a good one.

Scarlett has a secret from her past that she doesn't want to reveal. This woman has a large amount of inner strength. Her past has left her with some trust issues.  Now she is trying to start over and she isn't sure who she should trust at all.

Cade Henderson is a handsome cowboy that Scarlett is falling for. He also has some secrets from his past that he isn't ready to share either.

The romance between Cade & Scarlett is a sweet, slow romance. You can tell they are attracted to each other from the moment they meet but with their past they take their time falling in love. These two have a few things to over come in order to make their happily ever after though.

I wasn't sure how much mystery there could be in a short story but let me tell you this one surprised me. I found myself rolling through the pages really quick and enthralled in this story.

I would recommend this if you are looking for a quick short story to read. If you like  mystery, romance, and short stories I think you'll love this one.
