I have been a fan of Robin Kaye since I was lucky enough to win a copy of Back to You, the first book in the Bad Boys of Red Hook Series. Ms Kaye instantly became one of my favorite authors. I have loved this series from the beginning and have had the chance to read them all. I have loved each book and adored all the characters. However, Had to Be You just might be my favorite of the series.
Slater doesn't remember a whole lot from his childhood. He knows it was a rough life before he came to live with his father (foster father) and brothers. He just doesn't remember what all happened. Slater learns more about his past than he ever wanted to know. Slater's story was very emotional. I loved how Slater's family really rallied around him. They were there for him whether he wanted it or not. They knew he needed them. I cried several times while reading this book. Ms. Kaye has a created a group of wonder characters that I feel a close connections with. I truly felt like I was living the story with a friend while reading this book. I won't tell you what happened, you must read this book to find that out for yourself.
When Slater first arrives back in Red Hook he meets Rocki. Rocki is the sexy singer at his father's bar (The Crows Nest) Slater and Rocki have an instant attraction. Look out, do NOT put anything flammable between these two because it will ignite. Rocki is determined not to get involved though. That is until her brother is seriously injured. Slater takes her home and finds out all the things that Rocki has been keeping from her Red Hook family. Rocki has had a lot happen in her life as well. She has quite a story to tell and I found myself in tears reading her story as well. This whole book was a very emotional story. I love to feel that deep connections with the characters of the story and let me tell you Ms. Kaye has written these characters so well that I really did feel the connection.
Slater and Rocki both have a lot to over come in order to be together. They both have very tragic issues and a few issues with relationships. There are a few secrets that are revealed along the way as well. We learn something in this book that we have been wondering since the first book. If you have been following the series you will know what that might be. If not I don't want to tell something that will give something big away if you have not read the whole series.
I loved catching up with everyone in the family that I had read about in previous books. That is one thing I really love about series books. I love meeting old friends in new books.
On the whole this book is just fabulous! I loved it!! I would recommend that you quickly click the link below and grab yourself a copy. If you haven't read the whole series there are links down there for those as well. I don't think you will be disappointed in any of the books. Each story in this series was wonderful! I can't wait to see what Robin Kaye may have in store for us next. I know I will certainly be anxiously awaiting the release of her next book.
I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Had To Be You.
When I heard that Robin Kaye was going to be part of the 12 Days of Christmas, I was so excited. I was dancing in my chair. A Robin Kaye Christmas story, just how good can it get! So as you can tell I was very excited to read The Goose, The Gander, And Three French Hens and I was not by any means disappointed.
Jack Bennett and Mary Claire Coleman had a secret relationship when they were young. For reasons some what beyond their control they were unable to be together. When Jack comes back to town to take care of his father's estate the sparks are still very much there with Mary Claire.
Jack and Mary Claire are sure their hot, steamy fling is just that, why should they not enjoy each other while Jack is in town. They both have such deep feelings for each other though. There is a lot of things from the past that must be taken care of before they can find their way together.
I enjoyed watching Jack & Mary Claire get to know each other again. I also enjoyed Mary Claire's relationship with her fellow owners of the 3 French Hens. I loved all the ladies of the 3 French Hens and they added a lot of fun to the story line.
I was so completely captivated by this story that I read it in one setting. I could not bring myself to set it down to do anything else. Of course I have not yet meet a Robin Kaye book that I did not love, this one is certainly no exception. I am always excited and looking forward to what she has in store for us lucky readers next. Her characters are always charming, funny, and just so compelling that I can not helping loving them.
I have not had the opportunity to read the rest of the books in this series but if they are half as good as Ms. Kaye's then I know I need to read them as well.
If you are looking for a fun holiday romance, grab this one. I'm including the link, don't want, go now, get your copy and enjoy!
I was given the wonderful opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thought with you on The Goose, The Gander, And Three French Hens.
I so enjoyed Back to You by Robin Kaye that I could not wait to read You're the One, book number two in the Bad Boys of Red Hook Series. I was so excited when I received this book in the mail I danced out of the post office and could not wait to start reading it. It certainly lived up to all my expectations. Ms. Kaye has created a wonderful group of charming, delightfully compelling characters that I cannot wait to visit again. She not only has written new friends for me to enjoy but a wonderful story line that made it nearly impossible for me to put the book down. I think it goes without saying the Ms.Kaye has a faithful new fan in me. OK I've probably gushed enough but I can't say enough about how much I am loving this series and I can not wait to read the next book.
Skye Maxwell is a brilliant chef that wants nothing more than her own kitchen. She is a smart, independent woman that is going to make it and stand on her own two feet. She doesn't care if her family likes it or not. I instantly felt a connection with Skye and loved watching her make it on her own merits. This girl has what it takes to run her own kitchen.
Logan Blaise has what he thinks is the perfect life. He has a job he likes and a fiance that he thinks he's compatible with. Then he meets Skye, this woman makes Logan feel things he didn't even know existed. Skye basically threw Logan for a loop and he doesn't know what to do about. It's adorable watching this big, strong, tough guy who has been a little on the stiff side falling deeply in love for the first time in his life.
This cute, compelling couple does have a few things to work out and a few misunderstandings try to get in their way. Love, understanding, and communications can fix a lot of things though. In my opinion this book ends with one of those awww moments. It is really a sweet love story.
I so loved this book. If you love small town family romances I think you'll love this book. I know I most certainly will be looking forward to book three. Oh my I wonder what story Ms. Kaye has in store for us next, she certainly has my attention.
I was very lucky to receive an ARC to read and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you about this book.
