#Review - At Close Range by Laura Griffin

At Close Range (Tracers Book 11) by [Griffin, Laura]At Close Range is a heart pumping, breathe stealing, page tuning romance story that held me captivated from the first page to the last. This is a shinning example of Laura Griffin's incredible talent.

There is one thing I know I can count on when I pick up a Laura Griffin book, I'm in for a great read!

Daniele Harper (Dani) is the lead investigator on a double murder. Her investigation keeps turning up a lot more questions than it does answers. The more clues they find the more puzzling the mystery becomes. Dani is a smart lady, incredibly good at her job, independent, and knows how to handle herself when the going gets tough. I liked Dani right away. She is one of those characters that I connected with right away.

Scott Black has known Dani since they were children. He is best friends with her brother and has been given the hands off speech. So he's fought his attraction to Dani for a while. Scott finds himself smack in the middle of Dani's investigation and sometimes in a bit of hot water with Dani. Scott is good at what he does and hasn't had an easy life. He has been through a lot and some of it still haunts him.

Scott and Dani are working the investigation together and bad things keep happening to the folks they talk to. The further into the investigation they get the closer they get to the danger. There are some spine tingling action packed scenes that left me wondering what could go wrong next. There are twists and turns, a friends to more story, intermixed with one amazing mystery that has an unexpected ended.

I really enjoyed the connection between Dani and Scott. The smoldering over the years has added to the sizzle and spark of their attraction. When sizzle and spark mixes it turns into one wild explosion.

I REALLY enjoyed this marvelous story and could not turn the pages fast enough to see what these two were going to have find their way out of next.

This is book 11 in Laura Griffin's fantastic Tracer series. However Ms. Griffin does a fabulous job of making each and every book stand on it's own just fine. If you haven't read any of her previous books you may want to pick up a few because you are going to want to devour more of her work soon. I know I always crave her next release.

I was given the opportunity to read the glorious book and it has been my complete pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

#Review ~ Touch of Red by Laura Griffin ~ Laura_Griff

Laura Griffin has done it again! She has created the perfect intense read with her latest, Touch of Red.

Brooke Porter is a brilliant crime scene investigator for the Delphi Center. The one thing she isn't good at is picking the right man. Her last boyfriend is a bit on the odd side and hasn't gotten the message it's over yet. I enjoyed Brooke's sassy kick butt attitude. She has a way of getting things done.

Sean Byrne is a great detective that is working Brooke's current case and is determined to find a way of catching Brooke's attention for more than just his work on the case. Sean is one of those guys I sure would want on my side if I was in trouble. Who couldn't use a gorgeous guy that smart and can kick rear end and ask questions later?

Brooke and Sean work pretty well together most of the time. Brooke has a bad habit of getting in over her head without letting anyone know what she is up to. This leads to a few interesting discussions between Sean and Brooke. Their attraction to each is smoldering hot and the friction between them only adds to the fireworks when they finally give into their attraction.

I don't want to tell you too much about the storyline. There is plenty of twist and turns, drama, romance, a few hot and steamy scenes, mystery, and action. There is a very dangerous situation that Brooke finds herself in with a small witness to a crime. She does her best to keep her head together and find a way to get them both out alive. I have to say the bad guy came as a surprise to me. Laura Griffin takes us on an incredible adventure to find the answers and to get to the killer.

Touch of Red is the twelfth book in the Tracer's series. Ms. Griffin does a great job of making each book stand on its own just fine. If you have had a chance to read any of the previous books in the Tracers series you just might find an old friend or two to catch up with.

Laura Griffin has written a fabulous suspense-filled story that had my attention from the first page all the way to the end. Touch of Red is a heart-pounding, breathe stealing, cling to the edge of your seat, page flipping story that showcases Ms. Griffin's immeasurable talent. This lady can write a romantic suspense that is impossible to put down.

Laura Griffin is at the top of my must-read list. I can not wait to see what awesome story comes up with for us lucky readers next.

I was given the opportunity to read this incredible story and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

#Review ~ Desperate by Laura Griffin ~ @Laura_Griff

Desperate Girls by [Griffin, Laura]
Laura Griffin is one of my very favorite romantic suspense authors. She is such a talent with Romance, suspense, drama, intrigue steaming hot passion, and characters that have great charisma. Desperate Girls is a shining example of her extreme talent. Desperate Girls is one of those books that I picked up and just could not put down. I was hooked from the very beginning.

Brynn Holloran is a strong, smart, independent lady that knows what needs to be done for her clients and how to get it done. If I needed a lawyer I would want this lady on my side. She's incredible. She's used to doing things her way and when a possible security threat interferes with her job she's not happy about it. She doesn't like not being in control.

Erik Morgan is a guy that will kick butt and then ask questions later. He is strong, smart, and knows how to keep his clients safe. This guy is one that I would want on my side too. He knows what he is doing. It doesn't hurt that he is incredibly handsome either.

Brynn doesn't take well to having her routine change and it's Erik job to keep her safe. They encounter a few up close and personal disagreements about how things are going to be done. Oh my! The chemistry between these two is so incredibly powerful that it's going to ignite with little or no notice at all. And oh my when it does WOW!

There is a lot of suspense and drama in this story. I could not put it down. Just when I thought that Brynn and Erik may have things under control then something else would happen and I was once again quickly flipping pages with baited breathe.

If you enjoy an incredible drama-filled romantic suspense story then you have got to grab this one. If you are a Laura Griffin fan like me, you're going to love it, I know I sure did.

On the whole, this book has it all. There is the steaming hot romance, the heart-pounding suspense, the chemistry between all the characters, the storyline is fabulous and kept me guessing from the beginning all the way to the end. I was a bit shocked by a few of the secrets revealed at the end. Desperate Girls is another fantabulous read from Laura Griffin. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us lucky readers next.

I was given the opportunity to read this terrific book and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

Far Gone by Laura Griffin ~ REVIEW ~

I have had the pleasure of reading a few of Laura Griffin's books now, and I became an instant fan. This lady knows how to write one really awesome romantic suspense story. This is one of those books that I just could not put down. I was very close to end and I just could not bring myself to put this book down until I found out how the story ended. I stayed up a little later than normal but Far Gone had me completely captivated and I had to know.

Andrea Finch has had a rough spell with work. She was in the wrong place at the right time which resulted in her having to make a difficult decision. She is placed on leave while the situation is investigated. However she doesn't waste her time while she is on leave. She goes in search of her brother and some answers. She finds her brother and she doesn't like what else she finds. There is a lot of things going on and she is afraid that her brother may be in danger. I could go on and on here, this is such a WONDERFUL story line but I really want you to be able to enjoy the book so I'll stop there.

I will tell you that in her investigate she meets up with handsome FBI agent Jon North, who is performing some investigating of his own. Much to both of their dismay the end up working together. There is an instant attraction between these two and also some interesting bickering that leads to some tension. These two have what it takes to make some seriously dramatic scenes as well as a few steamy one.

I really enjoyed this story and it certainly is a page turner. I suggest you plan plenty of reading time when you get ready to read this one. I know I had a horrible time setting it down and then I got to the point where there was no way I was putting this book down. It's a very suspenseful, dramatic story that I think you will enjoy. I know I certainly did. If you are a fan of Laura Griffin's work already you will notice gets a little help from the Delphi Center which is connected to some of her other work. I always like when books are connected. However this one is completely able to be read as a stand alone.

I loved this book and I can not wait to see what Ms. Griffin has in store for us next. She certainly has a devoted fan in me. I will be anxiously awaiting her next release.

I must mention one more thing, I loved the cover on this book. I normally don't judge a book by it's cover, unless it's a fabulous cover that is. In this case I loved the story under the cover as much or more then I loved the cover. I was fascinated by the cover so I had to mention it.

I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Far Gone

Don't forget you may click the title to head over to Amazon to pick up your own copy. If you click on Laura Griffin's name that will direct you to her website as with most of my reviews :) You may read more of my reviews on Laura Griffin's work here.

Shadow Fall by Laura Griffin ~ Tracers #9 ~ REVIEW

Are you looking for a fabulous romantic suspense story that will keep you on the edge of your seat while warming up your fall nights? May I suggest grabbing a copy of Shadow Fall by Laura Griffin?

Shadow Fall captivated my attention from page one and kept me turning pages to see what could possibly happen next.I love a great mystery with spellbinding suspense and a nice dose of romance.

Tara Rushing is a strong very intelligent FBI agent. Under the tough exterior there is a kind caring lady that really cares about the cases she works. Tara has a few issues and tough cases from her past that pushes her to get to the bottom of the killings quickly before anyone else is hurt.

Liam Wolfe has a history in military and security. He and his team provide security and protection to their clients. Liam finds himself on the suspect list of the local law enforcement.

The attraction between Liam and Tara is simming hot. They both try to fight their attraction to each other for the good of the case. However their attraction for each other turns out to be a stronger force than these two are able to fight off.

Laura Griffin has once again written another fabulous installation in the Tracers series. Ms. Griffin has a talent for writing strong characters with interesting past and intriguing stories. Shadow Fall is certainly no exception. The storyline is packed full of dangerous situation and suspense that had me so captivated I could not put this book down. I found myself flipping pages quickly to see what was going to happen next and who in the world was behind the murders. I don't want to tell you too much about the storyline because I know you are going to want to read all the twists and turns for yourself. I was taken by complete surprise to learn who was behind the horrific events.

Shadow Fall is the ninth story in the terrific Tracers series. Don't worry if you haven't had a chance to read all the previous tracers books, each book can easily be read as a stand alone.

I will be anxiously awaiting Laura Griffin's next release. I can't wait to see what intense storyline she comes up with next to keep us lucky readers in suspense and well entertained.

I was given the opportunity to read this great book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Shadow Fall.

Exposed by Laura Griffin

Exposed is the second book I have had the pleasure to read by Laura Griffin from the Tracers series. Laura Griffin has a way of grabbing your attention from page one and holding it tight all the way to the end. The drama & suspense started early in Exposed and kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. To say I really enjoyed this book is putting it lightly! Exposed is most certainly a page turner.

Maddie Callahan is a woman that is made out of tough stuff. She has survived so many tragedies in her life and it has made her stronger. She has found her outlet in helping solve other crimes and helping those families be able to find closure. She uses her talent as a photographer to photograph crime scenes. She is a CSI that works at the Delphi Center. I bonded with Maddie right away. When she finds herself a possible witness in an kidnapping connected to a major crime ring she meets Brian Beckmann an FBI agent. Maddie and Brian have an instant attraction. When Maddie finds herself in some dangerous situations Brain decides to make Maddie's safety as his own person responsibility.

I loved how Brian, the strong, tough, FBI agent  also has a sweet side. Maddie doesn't want to get involved in another relationship because she doesn't want to be hurt again. Brian is willing to give her the time she needs to adjust to their friendship turning into more.

Maddie & Brian work really well together.
Brain isn't crazy about the idea of Maddie assisting with the investigation but he soon learns Maddie is a determined woman . she has found herself  in the middle of this mess and she is going to help solve the case. They are a very compelling couple with so much chemistry. It was so much fun watching their love develop.

I absolutely adored this book, it has drama, suspense, and romance all the things that make a book great.  If you enjoy a good mystery romance I think you will truly enjoy Exposed. If you are already a Laura Griffin fan I know you are going to be anxious to pick up the latest in the tracers series. I loved it and CAN NOT wait to see what Laura Griffin has in store for us next.

I was extremely lucky to receive an advanced readers copy of this book to read. It has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you about this book.

Tara looked out the window again and realized her pulse was still thrumming. He unnerved her. It wasn’t just his size, it was his attitude. Maybe she was self-conscious because he’d caught her off guard. She was definitely embarrassed that she’d pulled her weapon on him.

She adjusted the vent and got a waft of hot air. His attitude bothered her, but she liked his truck. It smelled like leather and earth and felt deliciously warm. She forced herself to ignore the flutter of nerves generated by being alone in the dark with him. The nerves weren’t from fear but something else. And she wondered which was worse, being afraid of a man she was investigating or being attracted to him?

“You shouldn’t come out here alone.”

She looked at him. “Why not?”

“We’ve got more than a few meth heads around here. You don’t want to walk up on something, not without backup.”

She watched his face in the dimness, uneasy with the protective tone of his voice.

“We confirmed the ID today,” she said.

“I know.”

That ticked her off.

“Won’t be long till the media has it,” he added.

“Where are you getting your information?”

He didn’t answer.

“And the other day,” she said, “how’d you know we were here, me and M.J.? Are you having us tailed?”

Even if he was, he’d probably never admit it. But she at least needed to ask and get his reaction. Shadowing investigators could definitely be considered suspicious behavior.

Although she had to be honest with herself. She didn’t consider him a real suspect. Despite his links to the victim, she simply didn’t feel it.

“I’m guessing you filmed us approaching your property and ran my plate,” she said.

The corner of his mouth lifted. “Nothing that cloak-and- dagger.” He glanced at her. “I’m friends with Crystal.”

“Who’s Crystal?”

“She waited on you at the Waffle Stop. Bright red hair, eyebrow ring.”

She turned to face the window. “Small-town grapevine. And here I’ve been all impressed with your spying abilities.”

“You should be.” He pulled up to her Explorer and parked. “We’re the best there is.”

She looked at him in the darkness, so confident it bordered on arrogance. And the crazy thing was she believed him. She bought into it completely—he was that good.

His eyes locked on hers, and the air between them felt charged with electricity. His gaze dropped to her mouth, and her heart skittered. Was he going to kiss her? He eased closer, watching her, making her heart pound.

I am so honored to have Laura Griffin Stop by today. She is here to talk to us about Far Gone, which is a WONDERFUL story. You may find my review here. Welcome Laura, I'm so happy to have you here today!

Thanks for inviting me to visit!
It’s been an exciting time with the release of my first hardcover book, FAR GONE. Holding the book in my hands for the first time was a joyful moment!
FAR GONE is the story of Andrea Finch, an Austin homicide detective who is on leave from her job when she gets a distress call from her younger brother in West Texas. She wants to ignore his plea for cash, but she thinks something is very wrong so she goes out to investigate. She soon meets FBI agent Jon North, who is working undercover to solve a murder that may be part of a broader plot... and he believes Andrea’s brother is involved.
The new book is a bit different from the Tracers series I have been writing lately.  Both the main characters, Andrea and Jon, are new. But readers of the Tracers series will recognize a few familiar Tracers who play a role in the forensic aspects of the investigation. It was fun to weave some of my favorite characters from previous books into the story.
Writing FAR GONE was an adventure because I got to meet and interview all sorts of law enforcement people, from cops to FBI agents. I had fun writing the action scenes in the story, but I also enjoyed the romance between Jon and Andrea. From the very beginning, Andrea doesn’t trust Jon because she knows he’s investigating her brother... and yet she feels drawn to him anyway. I liked watching their romance unfold along with the mystery. I hope you will, too!
I’m giving away a signed copy of the book, so leave a comment if you’d like a chance to win!

#Review Deep Dark by Laura Griffin

Laura Griffin has written yet another Tracers book that captivated my attention from the first page to the last. This is one of those books that I picked up and did not want to put down until I figured out just who was so evil to commit the horrific crimes.

When a friend  is killed Laney Knox feels a little to close to crime. Things are looking a lot like what happened to her in the past and she is determined to help find the killer before he hurts anyone else or maybe comes back to finish what he started with Laney in the past. Reed Novak is investigating the case and Laney finds a few unique ways of getting clues to him.

Reed really isn't all the keen on Laney's help on the case. He doesn't want her in danger and tries really hard to talk her into stepping back and staying safe.

The tension between Laney and Reed has a lot to do with the mutual attraction they both feel for each other. Reed wants to protect Laney and Laney wants to protect the next victim before the killer strikes again.

Reed and Laney make a really good team together and find that maybe working together just may be the way to go. I admired Laney's ability with a computer. I think this lady would find a way to get any info she needed to help put the bad guys away.

One of the things I really enjoy about Laura Griffin's Tracers' books is the in depth details on how they find the clues and how they find their answers from the clues. It's fun to see what little thing they can take and turn it into a possible lead to the UNSUB.

Ms. Griffin had me guessing who done it all the way to the end. I was so surprised. The mystery kept me captivated with just enough details to keep me wondering. The romance between Laney and Reed is combustible and ready to ignite at a moments notice.

This is part of the Tracers series but if you haven't had a chance to read the previous nine books in the series never fear Deep Dark will stand on it's own just fine.

I was given the opportunity the read and review this thrilling book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Deep Dark.

Excerpt:

Dani watched him. Scott stood beside the car, his back to the victim as he skimmed his flashlight over the ground. The firearms expert was tall and broad-shouldered, with the super-ripped body of a former Navy SEAL. Instead of his usual tactical pants and combat boots, he wore jeans and a leather jacket tonight, so maybe he’d been out when he’d gotten the call. Dani knew from experience that his jacket had nothing to do with the weather and everything to do with the Sig Sauer he carried concealed at his hip.

Something glinted in the grass, and Scott crouched down to tag it with a numbered marker. Two minutes on the scene and already he’d discovered a piece of evidence. He stood and squared his shoulders, and Dani felt a pang deep inside her as he approached.

He stopped and towered over her, and for a moment they just stared at each other.

“Was the passenger door closed when you got here?” he asked.

“That’s right.”

“Where’s the girl?”

“No sign of her.” She nodded at the woods. “One of our officers is searching near the lake with Travis.”

He watched her for a moment with those cool blue eyes. His gaze shifted to the woods. “You need a K-9 team.”

She bristled. “I know.”

He strode over to his truck and opened the toolbox again. He took out a metal detector, which would help him locate shell casings or bullets, and maybe even the second victim if she was wearing jewelry or a belt.

Then again, the killer might have taken her somewhere else. Dani glanced back at the road and got a queasy feeling in her stomach. Where was she? She turned her attention to the lake, visible just beyond the trees. It was a scenic spot, usually--a tranquil little oasis for couples. But not tonight.

She glanced at Scott again, and he was watching her closely--so closely it made her wonder what he was thinking.

“You coming?” he asked.

She nodded at the body. “I’ll stay with him until the ME shows.”

Scott walked off, and Dani let her gaze follow him until he disappeared into the woods.

The medical examiner’s van rolled up, followed closely by Ric, and Dani’s stomach tightened as she thought of everything she didn’t like about this case. And it wasn’t even an hour old yet.

Ric walked over, his expression grim as he took in the scene. “The media has it.”

“That didn’t take long.”

“It was all over the scanner,” he told her. “I give us ten minutes, tops, before they roll in here with their cameras. We need to barricade the road.”

“Daniele.”

She turned toward the sound of Scott’s deep voice calling her from the woods. He was a tall silhouette at the edge of the trees, and from his tone Dani knew it was bad.

“What is it?” she yelled back.

“I found her.”

Hit and Run by Allison Brennan & Laura Griffin ~ Moreno & Hart Mysteries #2 ~ Review

I have had the pleasure of reading quite a few books by the talented Laura Griffin and I always enjoy her work. This is the first chance I have had to read any by Allison Brennan. I found they both created intriguing story lines in Hit and Run with a great suspense and drama.

In HitScarlet Moreno finds herself in the middle of a dangerous mess involving her friend Jason Jones. When Jason is charged with his girlfriend's murder, Scarlet sets out to clear his name as well as figure out what really happened to his girlfriend. Scarlet finds herself in the middle of a SWAT raid, a dangerous shoot out, and plenty more dramatic situations that kept me turning pages quickly. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story and a lot of mysteries are uncovered. I really enjoyed the Hit part of this wonderful book.

In RunKrista Hart finds herself in a situation that is too profitable to turn down. She doesn't exactly like the client she is working for but she likes the cash behind the case. So she does what she does best. She starts digging around to find out more information on the case. Krista finds herself in some dangerous situations as well and there were a few moments of humor. Krista is working with fellow but rival detective R.J. Flynn. There is some romantic tension between these two that adds to the story as well.

I have to say I enjoyed both Hit and Run and found this book to be a great suspenseful read that kept me glued to the edge of my seat. If you enjoy a great mystery then I think you will enjoy this series. If you haven't read the first book in this series, you won't have any problem reading this as a stand alone. I hope Allison Brennan and Laura Griffin add to this great series. I can't wait to see what more they might have in store for Scarlet and Krista.

I always look forward to new releases by Laura Griffin and can not wait to read what ever she has out next. Now that I have had a taste of Allison Brennan's work I would like to read more of her work. I have a feeling I have been missing out on some great suspenseful stories.

I was given the opportunity to read this story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Hit and Run
