The Trouble with Love
Distinguished Rogues Book 8
by Heather Boyd
The Trouble with Love is a shining example of Ms. Boyd's incredible talent and an excellent read. I could not put this book down once I started reading. I was engrossed from the very first page all the way to the end.
Whitney Crewe is a strong independent lady with an incredible talent of capturing individuals in drawings. That is why she is visiting Twilit Hill, she is in charge of capturing Lord and Lady Taverham's family in a painting to forever immortalize them. Whitney wants to set out to see the world and she has her plan in place to set out on her adventure soon.
Lord Acton, Everett is a handsome intriguing man with plenty on his plate. His intended, Alice Quartermane and her family are visiting his country estate. Mr. Quartermane is full of opinions on how Lord Acton should be making more money off his land. Everett is content with the way things are and how his land is. Slowly Everett sees more and more how his life is going to be once he marries Miss Quartermane. On top of trying to build his new life, he has a huge secret that he does not want to reveal. I have to say I admired Lord Acton for keeping his secret safe and doing what had to be done. I don't want to tell you any more than that. You will be surprised when you read the story.
Whitney and Everett have an extremely HOT first meeting. From there the friction and tension lead to some interesting moments between them. I truly enjoyed watching these two get to know each other. A Friendship forms as they find they actually like each other. That deep attraction is still there and is smoldering hotter and hotter each day. They put up a good fight against their growing feelings and attractions. They know there is a lot at stake and many could be hurt by their actions. They are both think they know where their life is headed but they just might be in for a bit of surprise. Whitney and Everett have a whole lot of issues to deal with if they are going to try to find they're happily ever after together.
Heather Boyd once again had the recipe just right when she wrote The Trouble with Love. She has added the perfect amount of drama, romance, and steamy moments that make this a book to be devoured. If you are a fan of Heather Boyd, like me, then you really really need to grab this book right now. You are going to love this installment in the Distinguished Rogues series just as much as I did. If you are a historical romance fan but haven't had the chance to read any of Ms. Boyd's work then grab this one now. The nice thing is that The Trouble with Love is part of a fabulous series but it will stand on its own just fine.
I can not wait to see what Ms. Boyd has in store for us lucky readers next. As always, I will be anxiously awaiting her next release. It is bound to be fabulous!
