Interview with Candi Fox:

Crystal: Today I have the pleasure of hosting Candi Fox! Welcome Candi! I'm so excited to have you here today. Would you share a little bit about yourself with us today?

Candi: I’m a full-time author in Tulsa, OK. I’m an avid animal friend. I have four dogs, two cats, and two horses. My very first foal was born March 15 this year. I got to be there. I had my first paranormal experience when I was 2. I saw a ghost. Since then every house I have ever lived in has been haunted or at least visited by ghosts.

I love to go explore haunted places with my husband. It’s a fun activity we can do together. You can see me LOOOOOOONG bio on my amazon page or my website. 😊

Crystal: Do you have a favorite scene you would like to share with us?

Candi: Luc was livid. She could see his eyes bleed into a solid blue. They were nearly neon. The power from his rage swept across the room spilling onto Harley’s skin. She shivered from it. Quickly glancing around, she spotted Aiden standing by the fireplace looking on. The two vampires that had been with Zoe the first night stood in the room several feet away looking on.

Crystal: Where did you come up with the idea for your latest release?

Candi: Our heroine Harlowe Lake Kelly aka Harley has been kicking around my head for a couple of years. One of the characters was inspired by a particular dark time in my life. I feel that writing is a cathartic way of releasing those inner demons. Plus, Harley is a lot of fun.

Crystal: What are you currently working on?

Candi: I have a few projects in the works. I have done the research and started writing the sequel to Harlequin’s Deception. I’m more than half way done with the third book of The Killing Chronicles, Darkest Knight. A hot summer novella is currently at the editors and will be featured in an anthology with several other authors. I’ve been asked to write books for the Tulsa Immortal series which is a multi-author project. Lastly, I have a YA novel series planned that is so, so, so amazing.

Crystal: Do you have any special routine that you follow when you are writing?

Candi: I do not have a set routine. Rule for me is to write every day. No matter what is going on in the rest of the world I will take time to write. Suffering from anxiety, depression and a few other disorders take away from my focus. On days like that I tend to do research for the books.

Crystal: Did you have to do a lot of research for this book or any other? If so do you have a fascinating fact that you have learned you would like to share with us?

Candi: This book took minimal research. Having studied the paranormal world for decades, I was able to pull from the knowledge in creating Harley’s world. I would say a lot of “research” came from reading other authors in this genre.

Crystal: Who are some of your favorite authors that you like to read?

Candi: I have eclectic taste when it comes to reading. L.K. Hamilton, Jim Butcher, J.K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, E.B. White, Henry David Thoreau, R A Salvatore, J. R. Ward, Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks, Louis Lamour, Charles Dickens, and dozens more really.

Crystal: Is there a genre you haven't written that you would like to try?

Candi: I’d love to try my hand at Westerns. My father was a Louis Lamour fanatic. When we would go visit him I would run out of reading material, so I would grab his Westerns and read them. I love the genre.

BLURB:

Ten years ago, the world as we know it changed. The shift is what it became known as. Overnight, paranormal beings came out of the proverbial closet. Something in reality had shifted. Those who had no idea they were paranormal were awakened to a new reality. Ten years in and Harlowe Lake Kelly, Harley to her friends, is back in her small Oklahoma town, widowed and striking out in a new career, namely, a successful magic agency. Her uncanny abilities at using potions, spells, and other means at solving supernatural crimes, thrust her into a partnership with local law enforcement. Things would be great if it wasn’t for the three sexy, but deadly, men who stand at all corners of her new life. Lucien, the ancient, alluring Vampire who has made it clear he wants more than Harley’s luscious curves. Cowboy, who wants to possess her in every way imaginable, and Aiden. The newcomer who has strict orders from his Vampire boss... but she senses has his own agenda. But in a world where things and beings are never what they seem, life isn’t promised and love comes with many strings. So what’s a girl to do to untangle those strings?

About the Author:

Candi Fox, co-host of the wildly popular radio show Candi and Company with over 900 thousand listeners began her venture in the paranormal at the tender age of two, when she witnessed her first apparition. From that moment on the paranormal seemed to follow her. No matter where she moved, the house she lived in the house next door, or the house down the street always seemed to be haunted.

She often wondered if she drew the spirits to her. Little did she know that she was indeed a magnet of sorts. It wasn't until she was in her late twenties that she found people who could not only explain her gifts, but would also help her hone them. Armed with this new knowledge she began to openly explore hauntings and other paranormal phenomena.

Growing up in Indiana lent her the opportunity to explore many famous haunted places including the Hannah House, which was once part of the Underground Railroad. A little over two years ago she moved to Tulsa, OK and has began to explore the haunted landscape in a new state.

Candi lives with her husband, and furry children in Tulsa. She is passionate about the occult, saving and rehabilitating horses, horseback riding, magic, all things mystical and has her Reiki Mastery.

She uses her own paranormal experiences as well as her own life traumas to write from a grounded and realistic perspective about subjects that are hard to talk about and even harder to feel for yourself.
